it’s most definitely about money. The plaintiffs (at least the 1st one) aren’t seeking “$500” - they are suing for exemplary (punitive) damages as well, which are uncapped and could be any ungodly amount of money. If Allbright wants to cover this story, he really should read the complaint and not just parrot whatever this crazy lawyer is throwing up on instagram.

WFT signs Curtis Samuel - 3 years, $34.5 million

he’s very fast and perceived as versatile - not in a sense that he’s a complete WR like Diggs for example, but because he’s useful in the running game as well. -
Hmm so Buzbee doesn’t want to try these cases in the press but is basically updating his instagram in real time with information about these cases (and he’s pointing out all the “death threats” he’s getting.) Oh and he’s “never been a Texans fan” but he paid for billboards in Houston imploring Bob McNair to draft Johnny Manziel. Okay.

well no one ever said it was about justice. Only point is “journalists” don’t work en masse in some secret cabal and decide when something is or isn’t covered. When the lawyer put that out someone was going to pick it up and run it. After that happens everyone else, regardless of the merits of the claim, is going to report it. If you think it’s bogus then blame the attorney for the accuser, not the reporters. I know the difference between RMTs and sex workers and don’t have anything against either of them. Not sure what the heck you’re talking about there but carry on I guess.
-
how can you blame journalists when it was the plaintiff’s attorney that announced this suit via a crazy facebook post implicating a famous pro athlete? A lack of criminal investigation or charges does not preclude someone from filing a civil suit.

Cynthia Frelund teasing Bills fans with rumor tweet
JoPoy88 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With his diminishing production I doubt you can even call Ertz a luxury at this point. Maybe an improvement, but that’s it. -
well i’m not saying it’s going to go bad for Watson either - We don’t know anything about the allegations against him or the accuser yet (beyond the fact that it apparently involved a massage.) All I am saying is if the Texans were involved in facilitating this lawsuit, they’re way out of line and criminally stupid to boot. This case, unless quickly found to be baseless, will also have the knock-on effect of triggering an investigation by the league under the personal conduct policy, which will jam Watson up even more insofar as football goes.

Tonyan Given 2nd rnd tender, should bills offer?
JoPoy88 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d consider it. Granted I probably like Tonyan more than most and think draft picks are little more than lottery tickets - when in doubt take the proven commodity. -
Exactly. Unless some mandate came down from on high to go scorched earth on the guy, that makes no sense. And I don’t think guys like Caserio or Culley would go along with something so heinous.
-
Another detail in this - account tweeting is a local NBC reporter apparently. No suit officially filed yet.
-
It would be very dumb and downright evil if the claims against Watson are scurrilous and the Texans had something to do with it. But look who were talking about here. It’s the Texans. But anyways we’re getting wayyy ahead of ourselves speculating on some conspiracy now. Any sort of sexual misconduct claim should be looked at seriously.
-
If McNair/Easterby coordinated with the attorney or facilitated this in any way he should be kicked out of the league and forced to sell point blank.
-
Civil claims always are - and this one has the stink of vindictiveness too given the timing.

i am more offended by her win rate against the spread. She’s a supposed “handicapper” for NFLN and her picks are consistently terrible. -
If that’s the intent by the team, wouldn’t a plant story like this hurt the trade value they’d get in return for dealing him? Doesn’t make much sense, but this is the Texans were talking about.
-
options 1 thru 3 are completely crazy so I suppose I’d bet 4 or 5.
-
Not necessarily. It doesn’t sound like anyone has seen or is aware of what is in the civil complaint yet - given there’s zero details out there except this insane statement by the plaintiff’s lawyer.
-
There’s also this. A neighbor of Bob and Cal McNair? You don’t say?
-
just reeks of some politicking show attorney. if a civil suit was really filed and there’s anything to this at all, we’ll find out soon enough I suppose. Throw me in the “doubtful” camp for now.

Beane created the Bill B meltdown yesterday

Well the Redskins were just flat out lying about their list if you recall. So not exactly the same thing. -

you think a season ticket waitlist of around 60,000 people will just evaporate overnight if they don’t bounce back right away? -
Turning the roster over has no “guarantee of success” either, so what’s your point?
