I disagree.  Bigger WR had the smaller CB apple on his back.  Just turn and body him out.  If he would’ve done that, it was a perfect pass.  Low and only where the War could get a hand on it

This is also true.  Gabe seems to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the right time.

That's how it looked to me.  Based on where and when Allen threw the ball, he anticipated Davis would plant and turn around and the ball would have been right there.  Instead Davis planted and then cut to the right.  It's an obvious miscommunication or misunderstanding on a Cover 0 blitz beater.   Unfortunately, it's something that is too frequent between the two.  I'm pretty confident that if Davis simply planted and turned around, that would have been a TD or incomplete pass at worse.

Regardless; it's something they need to fix.

the fix is obvious, keep Davis where he was for the 2nd half of the Phins game and he’s good.

    Maybe a little.  😜

I have no real argument with this all pro list, either.

However, 1 question: if the Niners DON’T win the Super Bowl this year are they going to get any heat from the talking head gutter-snipes around the country the way the Bills do?

What magical excuse is going to come up for it to be ok and give the Niners a pass?

I like the Niners, but I’m making the call here, not only do I don’t think they’re gonna win the Super Bowl, but I don’t even think they’re going to make it to the Super Bowl. Just a hunch.

Calling it here, eliminates by the Rams.

I watch football, never played organized football, but when I saw the play the first thing I thought "where's the Bills receiver, Allen threw it to the spot they were supposed to be?".  Then ff course the replay confirmed it was Gabe.

It is a blitz and it is the receivers job to know where to be and be ready for it.  It was a perfect pass where Gabe should have been.  A large physical receiver and a pass where only they can catch it. At worst an incompletion.

Aren't these the plays that are practised over & over?

I have a name for gabe "Wrong Page" Davis.🙄

I think Davis is a “soldier mind”, meaning he can do exactly what he’s told to do, when he should do it.  The second it comes to making his own decision, problem.

I thought he could be more than he is, but we basically have a slower MVS.  I’m sending Beane a copy of Frozen and labeling it from Gabe.

On that first INT it's absolutely asinine when Gabe has leverage on the CB going outside to turn back inside where he doesn't have leverage and where there are more bodies. I'm just a fan who plays pick-up ball once or twice every week but I keep going OUT on that route 100 times out of 100.

    Am I wrong?

I think you are.  It was a blitz, the hot route typically turns inside, quicker throw opportunity.  I’m not sure why JA assumed he was going to settle down at the top of the route and that means maybe we are both wrong.

Won't hurt my feelings If the fish bite back next week and munch down on cry baby Mahomes and his Swifty toy boy Kelce.

Much to Taylors dismay ( she secretly thinks about Josh Allen )

In the Holiday spirit of things

Love it.   I’m torn on who I want to win that one, beating a team 3x in a year is a tall task, but Mahomes is always dangerous.  Kelce apparently retired mid -season and didn’t notify anyone though.

The lack of confidence among some in their fan base is surprising.  Tua was the MVP four weeks ago, now he’s a fraud.  McDaniel went from offensive genius to getting fired!

How McDaniel built the entire offense around Tyreek is special.  He’s one of the best offensive minds in my opinions. Is he a great game day coach?  It too early to tell,  but he’s made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons in his first two season so he’s earned more time.

I think Tua is very limited as a QB.  He’s proven to be above average but he needs a lot of things going to well to be successful.  Miami is in a tough spot as far as a new contract.  They might be hopeful the takes a Daniel Jones contract which pays him well but not in the top 5 QB salaries.

They aren’t keeping Fields.  Most have them taking Caleb Williams.  Also they are keeping Matt Eberfluss as HC so… good luck with the astute team

Tua is basically Chad Pennington (pre-injury).  That’s not a bad thing per se, but it requires him to have a perfect set of circumstances to make it work.  You know, eventually, if you press him and he can’t drive a ball you will have a chance to take it away.   He’s a better decision maker than JA, but Allen is so much better physically, he can do shtuff others can’t.   I wouldn’t pay a guy like Tua, you have to have talent around him to make him great, not the other way around, if you drop 50 M a year, you’ll find yourself in trouble.

Fields is a whole different debate.  Are we watching the 2019 version of Allen right now?  Or are we watching big Tyrod?  Tough spot to be in for the Bears.  They never gave the kid a supporting cast, their organization is run like a circus monkey is making decisions, for his sake, I hope he goes to ATL and we see what he can be w talent around him.

I’d like to hear from one of our X’s and O’s guys - the first INT was obviously a choice route and Allen and Gabe were on different pages.  I’m thinking Gabe chose correctly (based on coverage).  Anyone?  I know @HoofHearted on a miscue in an earlier game, confirmed Gabe read it correctly though Joe Brady was very diplomatic and took the blame on himself, pointing out that Allen was under duress and had very short time to decide (in that instance)

Anyway, the point is - not to interfere with your feelings on Gabe, and I think there are reasons to question whether we should pay him or not.

But if Allen is the one who is throwing to the wrong spot based on an option route and the coverage, getting rid of Gabe won’t help.  Allen has to be better and make better decisions.

I’d be with you, BUT Gabe is the target on a disproportionate percentage of the interceptions.  Allen doesn’t have these problems with literally anyone else.   Now he makes some bad throws, balls get tipped or whatever when he’s throwing to other guys, but when he throws to Davis there is a MUCH higher chance it’s going to go wrong.  To me, that says, Davis is not on the same page and he’s the only one, so it’s not JA that’s the issue.  We all know which one is staying, and which one we can all hope signs with the Chiefs.

It doesn’t matter how talented a WR is. If they don’t produce for a QB enough to be trustworthy for that QB they are effectively useless.

Think Marvin Harrison. Talent-wise limited, but hugely impactful for P Manning.

Shakir and Kincaid have grown that connection with Josh this year and their production over Gabe’s makes him expendable, unfortunately.

wtf are you taking about with Marvin Harrison?  He was a 1st round pick, and had ELITE skills, not to mention was perfectly in tune with Peyton.

I recorded the game and watched the play 5 times.  Josh threw the ball to where Davis was going but then Davis decided to cut-in when he should have realized there was an all-out blitz and he didn't have time to get cute.  There's a reason why Apple was where he was, i.e. because he was shadowing Davis (until Davis made his cut).

I agree that Davis got to the top of his route and then changed to get better position, but Josh can’t just throw blindly.   I 100% put it on Davis for the Eagles, but this one, he did what he’s supposed to do, work to the middle.  He was covered at the top of the route, under blitz, he’s supposed to work to the middle.   Josh is not infallible, he’s single handedly tried to blow many games for us, he’s also won a lot w crazy greatness.

I looked at the first INT again and when Josh throws the ball, Davis is moving to the outside but he then cuts inside.  I can't fault Josh on that one.

Ummm Josh never looked, he just unleashed the ball right to the defense.  That’s on Josh.  I find it VERY odd, most of Allen’s head scratching INTs seem to be going to Davis and I think he and Josh are not on the same page, I want Davis on the bench, but still, THAT one is on Allen.

  10. Most of you must be have grown up in an abusive home.  You don’t change your tune about a guy bc he’s not currently slapping you around, you have to recall all the times he has and hold him accountable.

if he can get his team close to the SB, I can forgive him, lose to the Steelers and I’m out.

I checked out the KC board reaction. They are so pissed. Mad they have to play Miami, mad that Buffalo has the 2 seed and furious that Toney allowed the Bills to win at KC and gave them a chance to run the table.

I remember thinking Schoen was a dick for trading Toney to KC for a third and not to us.  I didnt realize he was doing us a favor.

  12. I have no hard time believing both the Jags and Steelers lose.  Both teams suck.  The Steelers can be a problem because of Watt and that defense, and even an average day from a QB can be made to look good with the weapons they have, but they never seem to be able to get even that.  The Jags are frauds, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, they are the all hype/potential team.  Trevor Lawrence is Blake Bortles with a Head and Shoulders contract.  Josh Allen is only good when he plays Josh Allen. Etienne is a poor man’s James Cook.   They can’t finish drives, their D gets slapped in the mouth quite often and let’s be real, no team wearing teal has ever been a real threat.
