Key words there are "appears to be".
Not for nothing, but his family is trash. The whole lot of em. Very rare for trash to raise treasure. Right now Mahomes Jr. has about $500 Million reasons to walk the line. I'm sure he has a top of the line public relations team.
He married trash too.. sooo I think that PR team is earning their keep.

As an aside, I used to be a die hard Mets fan, and was always a fan of Mahomes Sr.
I think I was always drawn to these middle relievers for some reason— loved guys like Turk Wendell, Dennis
Cook, and Armando Benitez from those late 90s Mets teams too!
Benitez was one bad mamba jamba. It’s funny, I grew up near Binghamton, so I watched a lot of the guys come up through the AA team, yet was a Yankees fan, but I agree, some how, I think I could name more relievers than any other position from back in those days.

Welp, she’s a gal of many looks, must make it fun for Josh. Cover 2 or naked blitz package is all fun.

I’m for it, would be nice to have a guy who can be a hammer AND a home run threat all at once. I’d feel much better about him getting key touches vs Cook. The amount of times Cook screwed up in key moments is concerning, Henry is the consummate pro, even if he’s on the back end of his career. I doubt we can afford him, but I’d be excited to have him.

The 49ers have a good pair in Samel and Ayuik. Toss in CMC the most complete RB in the NFL.
They have a stellar all around team, a great D, OL, TE, etc. that’s what a championship team looks like, and doing it with a 2nd year nobody from no where QB. If they had Allen, my Gawd.

For as great as he was, did Julio win a title? The Dolphins had the best WR duo in the league, how’d that play out? The Eagles, Lions, etc are all sitting at home. It’s great to have WRs and the Bills DO need them, but ultimately it’s a team sport, giving up 5 players for one is unlikely to be the right move.

LOL at "never".
In 2020 when Diggs first came to Buffalo and was leading the league in targets, receptions, and yards while rocking a catch % of 76.5%, teams were plenty scared of him.
Not viewing a guy who is leading the league in receptions as a threat, Sure guy.
He catches the ball, but at no time has anyone been scared of Diggs. He’s not a game breaker in anyway, NEVER has been. He’s been a PITA to cover in short areas, but nobody was worried about him “taking over” a game. The entire defense has to be aware of where a guy like Hill is at all times because on mistake and it’s going to the house, even if you don’t make a mistake, he may just flat out burn you. Diggs might get a first down, but that’s the end of the threat.

Diggs has been struggling to get separation in man to man. Brady focus's less on Diggs in his O (he likes the 2x TE set and is more run focused). This means less designed or schemed plays for him. Couple that with his drops, his age, and the emergence of Kincaid and it all just means less for Diggs. Truthfully, as good as he is, he's simply not a game changer, he's never been a guy to just take over a game. I think this will be par for the course moving forward. He's been great for JA, but we need a real game changer here.
I said it when he was good, he’s never been a guy that scares anyone, he’s a good possession guy, not a big threat. -

This point is probably understated in the NFL world. A world beater at TE is such a mismatch advantage that other teams need to completely change the way the opposing defense has to cover. It stops teams from playing "their game".
Allen hasn't had that yet. DKx2 is a pretty great combo though, if Kincaid keeps developing they may be a force.
Knox needs to catch the ball and then it could be lethal. I love the way Knox plays, but he’s unreliable at best in the passing game.- 1

According to those stats, so is Allen. But the BILLS haven't been as good as the Pats or Chiefs.
The only stats that count are championships and Allen is N/A in that category.

How have Bears “wasted picks”? It seems to me they’ve been highly astute in the maximization of their draft capital…although that’s not to say their actual selections have been astute. The only example I can think of is the second they gave up for Claypool a few years ago.
And another second for Sweat and then made him absurdly over paid. Could have just waited and paid him.
-
I’d be really surprised if they don’t tag and trade him, they have the room to do it and unlike some dumb teams who let guys walk and hope for compensation picks, they can just work it out to get their picks this year. Think AJ Brown, Eagles gave up a first and paid him, I’d bet someone is willing to give up a second and pay Higgins, the way the Bears waste picks they might even make it a first 😂

As someone who found a lot of what was in the Dunne piece to be illuminating and probably truthful...
Two things that have happened since have been kind of damning to that report:
The first was the Wink Martindale/Brian Daboll fallout. Whereas it looked like the rather public breakup of McDermott and Daboll was more on McDermott, seeing Daboll be unable to make it work with a second consecutive defensive mind makes one wonder.
The second was the fact that, as the OP mentioned, two coveted young coordinators chose to stick around in Buffalo rather than go elsewhere, even though both garnered significant interest. Babich, in particular, was surprising, choosing to stick around under a defensive-minded head coach who may still continue to call plays rather than potentially spread his wings under an offensive minded guy.
Lastly, the way the team rallied around McDermott after the piece came out also sort of poked a bit of a hole in the "no one likes playing for this control freak" narrative.
The more that time has gone on and the more that's happened, the less accurate Dunne's piece has looked.
With all of that said, the Bills still lost in heartbreaking fashion in the Divisional round to the Kansas City Chiefs, and the major thesis of Dunne's piece was that McDermott tenses up in big moments and that the Bills need to move on from him to ever reach the Super Bowl, so.....he hasn't entirely been proven wrong thus far.Playing Devil’s advocate.
Is Daboll wrong to hold the D coordinators to the same standard he holds himself? Maybe it’s just over inflated opinions of under achieving coaches he has issue with.
Perhaps the young coaches figured they could ride the coat tails of Josh Allen to better jobs next season and they should take that over the unknown.
Maybe all the players watched what’s happened in the last and decided to show public support to the control freak so his ego wouldn’t be hurt and they wouldn’t be put on the bench like he has done to numerous players who didn’t do it the way he liked.
They choked again, maybe it’s proof Dune is right.

Probably smart, though I thought that Washington job was a pretty good one.
That team just gave up all their talent and has nothing set at QB, what’s good? A new owner who’s proven to be ruthless in pursuit of winning? Yeah, not where I’m starting my HC career if I have a choice.

I was not thrilled by it, but figured it was a swing to try to hit big, I was pretty sure after year 2 that it was going to be a miss, then he found it in year 3 and here we are.

The Bills lost to the chiefs who lost to the bengals who lost to the rams. It's so silly that people think the Bills were guaranteed the super bowl there.
Thank you! Reid is one of the greatest coaches of all time and mahomes is one of the greatest qbs of all time but only when other teams lose to them.
Quite the opposite. I actually don't think Harbaugh should be fired. I also don't think McD should be fired.
The entire point of this post is the double standard the fire mcd crowd have for other coaches.
People want to pretend winning 1 sb no matter how long ago would be okay but I don't think that's true. Harbaugh has a long streak of not being nearly as succesful as McD.
How do you view Harbaugh as being not as successful as McD? He has literally made it further than McD ever has, just this year, without having Josh Allen. He has to cater an entire team around Jackson’s limitations. I don’t agree with Baltimore’s talent evaluation, but he has failed in the playoffs the same as McD, but he’s also proven he CAN win the big one, which McD never has.- 1

How long of a leash? Its been 11 years....
Since that 2012 season they have won 3 division titles, they missed the playoffs 4 of 5 seasons after winning that sb, and they have only made the division round 4 times with 1 afc championship game. McD has outperformed or tied all of that in the last 4 years
If you are questioning the coach who has made it further than McD has in his tenure with a far superior QB, then McD needs to be fired because his leash is run out. You just beat yourself with your own argument. -

Is this the weakest list of MVP finalists ever?
Imagine, in a high scoring era like this, where a guy with 29 Total TDs is the front runner. Yes, this is WEAK. They should just call it “most popular QB of the year” award.

Let's not forget Andy Reid's playoff history before Mahomes.
How many NFC playoff games did he lose with those Eagles teams? Then a few more with the Chiefs. It took him a long, long time to get where he is now.
McDermott doesn't have the wins now, but Reid made the playoffs a dozen times before getting over the hump (yes, he did make a SB appearance with the Eagles once too).
It took Reid having a great QB to get there, what’s the plan, replace Allen with somebody better?17 hours ago, L Ron Burgundy said:I know Sean isn't going anywhere and these discussions may be pointless. The reason to have these conversations is that we at least need to pinpoint at what point we DO move on from him. Josh not winning a championship is not acceptable. It will be just as regrettable as losing 4 superbowls maybe more.
The best coaches, to me, adapt their systems to personnel. Belichick teams always did. He's won multiple titles more on the back of his D than Brady. Our coach seems incapable of this. I don't want change for the sake of change. I want change to be smarter and more adaptable.
So if we bomb out next season do we make a move? 2 years? 4? At what point does Josh get frustrated (though he seems incapable)?
Josh is not incapable of being frustrated, he is just good at toeing the line in the public eye. I guarantee you he isn’t blind to the fact this is team is nothing without him and the Defense collapses at every big moment, just like their leader.

You can’t think like that. Because you have no idea what the Bills need to do to win a Super Bowl. People act like the answer is firing the coach. News flash, that doesn’t work. Once you start firing the coach you might as well start scouting QBs because next Allen is gone.
Yeah, that’s the way it works, teams dump top 3 QBs in their prime because they fire a loser coach. Sure.
Get excited... change is NOW with a youth wave!!!
