NFL cracking down on players using gang signs
Mikie2times replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Flashback to his rumble against the fish in the playoffs when even Tindale got in on the action. I liked Holmes, he ran hard, came from a horrible background. To bad his playing days didn't last longer. -

I wanna find "the plastic cup" that somnabitch got me so drunk last weekend I almost took a crap in the woods. Which leads me to a more important question... If you crap in the woods and it doesn't make a smell, did you really crap in the woods?

How proud are you being a Buffalo Bills' fan?
Mikie2times replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no ties to WNY, been a fan since 1990 at 8 years old. Talking to my Dad the other day (Steelers fan) about the whole Toronto thing, how I would give up watching the NFL if the Bills moved. Not being serious I said to him, hell, if it happens maybe I'll become a Browns fan (live in Ohio right now). My Dad says Mike, you know you couldn't ever be a fan of another team, that team is in your blood. I agreed, I will never be able to love another team, and will always be proud that this is my team. The bottom line is we Bills fans make this team unique, threw the good times and the bad. The passion and loyalty for the Bills from our fan base is unsurpassed in sports. You just don't find casual Bills fans, it's in your blood or isn't, and if it is in your blood, you will always be proud of it. -

I don't agree. If he was drunk he probably saw his life as he knew it flush down the toilet. That or he didn't know he did it. Like I said before, it's not right that he left, we all recognize that, but he stood to lose everything if he stayed. Lot's of people, even those with decent moral centers, would consider leaving with that much at stake. Not justifying his actions, more empathizing with his circumstances. -

Marshawn was probably drunk as well, a point left out by many in this thread. If he was drunk he would have been in way deeper crap then he is now, and his judgement to make the right moral decision would have been certainly impaired. Obviously he shouldn't have been in the situation in the first place, just trying to frame it in the context of how it probably played out. -

It was November 23, 1994. I still have my ticket stub to the Lions game that year. Great story by the way. Just how I envisioned him being in real life. -

You wouldn't drive away.....
Mikie2times replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I would for that reason as well. Conscience, guilt, whatever the phrase, it would eat me alive if I drove off. I know that. Still, I've never been in the situation before, so I can't say I know how I would respond in that moment to a certainty. At least not as certain as some here say. Not saying many wouldn't still pull over, because I know some would, I just know some who say they would might think about it a little more when they have so much to lose. -

Thanks for clarifying that phrase for me, thats how I meant it. -
I'm amazed at the holier then thou types on this board right now. Maybe some of you live in a glass bubble, but the majority of people I've met in my lifetime have driven drunk at least once. Right or Wrong, that’s the way it is. Let's say one of those nights you hit somebody, something that could happen to anyone if they make the choice to get behind the wheel. You will not be getting just a DUI, you will go to Jail. You might go to jail for a long time, your life savings gone when it's all said and done. That or you drive off, maybe call it in on a pay phone....... Odds are nothing ever happens to you I might sound selfish, or you might think I'm saying I would drive away. I'm not, I don't know what the hell I would do. What I do know is it's real easy to say I would stop on an internet message board.

What he showed me as a rookie is he can play the take what you can get and avoid negative plays role well. That is VERY rare from a rookie QB. Having said that he still needs to improve on areas like his medium range and long throws. Arm strength is not his problem. True, he will ever be Farve, Elway, or even JP in terms of arm strength, but he doesn't have to be. Lots of great QB's have had average arm strength. Without the cannon he needs to become exceptional at reading coverages and improve on timing. He's a smart guy, and he's accurate. I like his chances, more in 09 and 10, but enough in 08 to not hurt our playoff chances and possibly even help them. -

Bills' Picks Are Growing On Me!
Mikie2times replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually like the top two picks less as time progresses. McKelvin can't be mentioned by anybody without reference to his return abilities. Thats great if we didn't already have two of the top ten kick and punt returners of all time. Most people say his ball skills are below average and judging by his 3 career interceptions I would have to lean in that direction. To put it simply, he looks a lot like Winfield, with more athleticism and less physicality. Is that worth the spot he was drafted in? Time will tell, I just remember a lot of people knocking a damn good corner in Winfield just because he couldn't catch the ball. As for Hardy I have doubts about his character and ability. One quote in particular troubled me about his character, in reference to the incident with his father. It was something to the effect of "I need to stay out of Fort Wayne, because when I go to Fort Wayne bad things always seem to happen". I get what his point was, IE making smarter decisions about the places he goes and the people he hangs with, but he just doesn't strike me as somebody who understands personal accountability. He should be able to go home and not get in trouble. Fort Wayne is not why bad things are happening to him, it's his own decisions that are the reason bad things are happening to him. If he ends up being very successful will he stay grounded in terms of salary and his personal life? It's very difficult to say, but I would rather not have to entertain that question in the first place. As for his physical ability I've never seen much separation from him on tape, I've never seen the route running, or physicality needed at the next level. I'm very excited about what he brings to the red zone, but question what he can bring between the 20's. I'm still very much in support of these players and hope they pan out. It's not as if I hold anything against them, I guess I'm just not as giddy as some of our other posters until I see more from both of them. -
1999 Bills-Dolphins playoff game question
Mikie2times replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moulds was fuggin insane that day. He, in his prime, is exactly what we've been missing for so long. A guy who can get deep, but be physical at the same time. I hope his departure doesn't taint just how good he was.
