  1. Yup.. Most "looks good/looks like stojan" preseason talk is just standard discussion. Most of it is 100% fine. We always split into two crowds about this time, though. There is the "man we're going to suck BAD" group and there is the "you can't tell from the preseason" gang. The reality is always somewhere in the middle. You can identify short comings in individual players, but it's pretty difficult to gauge how the unit as a whole will operate. I tend to reserve real judgement until the final preseason game. If, by that time, weaknesses and issues haven't really been addressed, you'll sometimes see them bleed into the season. Last year's preseason was a pretty good gauge.
  2. Damn it. Doesn't nfl net usually switch broadcast crews at halftime?
  3. Yeah... $20 says Losman lights it up and we get ourselves another preseason QB debate.
  4. Yeah they are.. first preseason game and all that, but yeah. The D was alright the first couple of series, but went south on that one. I want to see Trent and gang come out for another series; it would be nice to see *some* chemistry out of the offense.
  5. It's on NFL network.... hoping to see the offense click soon; they're looking mighty rusty. Defense is playing pretty good thus far.
  6. If you go to the next slide show... we *do* win #1.... Best commute in the nation: http://www.forbes.com/2008/04/24/cities-co...thisSpeed=15000 And of course, I live here: http://www.forbes.com/2008/04/24/cities-co...thisSpeed=15000
  7. Didn't enjoy his brand of comedy too much, but what a sad story. He was only fifty years old; that's much too young. I do hope his family and friends handle it okay, it looks like a hell of a surprise.
  8. Was that guy specifically targeting Americans, or was he just some random loon that wanted to be remembered as he offed himself? (I don't doubt either scenario).
  9. I've give you a hint... it uses the same algorithm to decode as it does to encode and doesn't rely on a key.

  11. I put the Osteen show on once just, well, for the hell of it... I guess just to see why he pisses so many people off. Morbid curiosity if you will, same reason I'll put on Michael Moore or Sean Hannity. While he was preaching, they were selling his book at the bottom of the screen. After they finished displaying *that* add, they put one up for the.... I'm not kidding here... the "Joel Osteen Journal." The pitch read something like "Follow along with your book and keep track of your daily improvements." All they need is the Joel Osteen Certified Writing Device, and of course, the Joel Osteen Writing Device Writing Remover Rubber Block.
  12. Exactly. If turning your head at a short skirt is harassment, most guys are guilty. Hell, I think my head automatically rotates towards the closest sound of heels. Whenever I'm on public transportation, I go out of my way *not* to rub up against anyone. I'd bump a boob by accident and it would wind up being the chick with pepper spray and a freaking tazer. That's just my luck. Spend more than an hour in any major city and you'll see the bums hitting on the power suit girls, there's just no way around that. It's probably an effort to get them to pay up in order to be left alone.
  13. Yuck. Breading is a sin in my book as well. They're so damn simple to make... people over think them.
  14. Totally freaking addicted. I play a couple of hours a night on the PS3. My wife is starting to hate it.
  15. Or rather, which ones would regret making a personal appearance after-the-fact.
  16. I really can't do crowds. I can do sporting events and concerts, but that's about it. When it comes to malls and airports and the like, I tend to feel pretty "squeezed in." I stay away from Hartsfield for the same reason I stay away from the mall in December. Hell, I even feel that way when a hockey game lets out. I don't believe I've ever had a wait as short as 15 minutes. I've spent 45+ in that line more than once. If I were to take MARTA, I'd have to drive to the Cobb park and ride and take the bus on down. That's just as much of a hassle as fighting for a parking spot at the airport itself. Buffalo is my kind of airport! All in all, I'd rather drive than take a plane, regardless of distance.
  17. I hate that airport. Hate it. The lines are atrocious, the crowds are terrible, the parking is Stojan, and the security is annoying. Buffalo, La Guardia, San Jose... all gems as compared to that Hartsfield monster. The damn place is even crowded in the middle of the night.
  18. Qualification: I know Stojan about banking. I don't really blame the bank, honestly. A mortgage is a secured loan. Isn't it a low risk move on the part of the bank to loan them them the cash up to a certain percentage of the value of the house? If they default, the loan is easily covered in auction. It's not the bank's job to protect people from themselves. If it was an unsecured line of credit or a loan, then the bank is the one assuming the risk (and therefore deserves to take it in the ass in the event of default). They had the assets to qualify for the loan, the bank doesn't (and shouldn't) give a damn where they got it from?
  19. How in the hell are they victims!? Good lord. They took a secured loan out against an asset that they own. They couldn't repay the loan. Asset legally posessed by lender. Case closed. Explain how that makes them a victim? Paying a 450k loan back on construction startup profits is probably damn near next to impossible. The article even states they had a home fix-it-fund. Work some crappy job for six months, pocket the cash, use *that* to fund your business without risking the *one* thing you really *do* own.
  20. I can't stand that show. They find the biggest sob story and play it for ratings. All of those staged conversations with that fruitcake Ty... "Life is hard, I know, give me a hug." Please. It's not what they're doing that I have a problem with, it's how they do it. They go to such pain to make it *look* like it's totally about helping these poor families out. Private "tell me how it is" conversations and 'Go Team' high-fives and all. Playing on America's heart strings... not a good thing at all.
  21. If she ever wants to be a Jr. Programmer or perhaps a Database Administrator, I've got her covered.
