millbank replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
the young people took the horses out to the bush and cut some wood, soon will be taping the trees and the sap running soon, portents of warmer days ahead.... -
Nothing like a nice big plate of pancakes with jam and maple syrup. In our household the ladies make Paczki , ( large doughnuts stuffed with filling). Take home some flowers and you just never know, a nice big plate may await you tomorrow. (unless you are dieting of course ) whats your favorite recipe...?

Take note there is a Anchorage Alaska Hells Angels Chapter

Hell's Angel's "This is basic marketing: you define yourself," said Hardy, who teaches business students the importance of brand identification – or "branding" – in mainstream marketing. If they lose the power of their trademarked logos, Hardy says, "they're diminishing their stock as a badass." That stock helps them recruit members, conduct business and feel special, the professor says. The Hells Angels were originally called the Pissed-Off Bastards of Bloomington, but that name didn't exactly roll off of the tongue.

Game Ruling California's ban on selling video games to minors is unconstitutional because even the most graphic on-screen mayhem is free speech, and there's no convincing evidence it causes psychological damage to young people, a federal appeals court ruled Friday. "The government may not restrict speech in order to control a minor's thoughts," said the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco in upholding a federal judge's ruling against the law, which has never been enforced. Similar laws in other states have also been struck down -interesting....

Translation of Article at Issue Time will tell. Montreal a city of a robust nightlife, it no great surprise young men idolized for what they do, would attend parties and functions and meet up with all kinds of individuals. Its most likely in any professional sports city and every team players meet up with and have contact with individuals of questionable character, some players are wise enough to navigate through this, others get ensnared. Sometimes they simply let their guard down, sometimes they as young men make impulsive bad decisions. We shall see in this case, are they in wrong by bad decision and association or are they just wrong.

This young lady could being used on Bills coaching staff giving wedgies to misbehaving players, sending her out to California to have a little talk with a certain alleged dope smoking , gun toting running back might be a start.

California Firearms Law HANDGUNS California Penal Code section 12025 does not prevent a citizen of the United States over 18 years of age who is not lawfully prohibited from firearm possession, and who resides or is temporarily in California, from transporting by motor vehicle any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container. The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle, but does not include the utility or glove compartment. For more information, refer to California Penal Code Section 12026.1. Would appear if reports are correct he had gun in trunk, he may have been within his rights...

is it legal to use neighbors wireless connection
millbank replied to achingknees's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I agree with this, that if a person is able to go into logging setting , they are able to secure router. This I feel should be responsibility of installer. Either installer knowing router capabilities or service person informing client , router options and setting it up accordingly. At issue is a person need be informed of how to use router, user documentation with router purchased need be as clear as possible regarding securing a router, purchaser responsible for reading information and implementing it. Installing a router , leaving it open for all to use than complaining that others are using it , and by ignorance not knowing routers settings if installed personally or not being informed by service people , need be on respective people make decision to secure on unsecure router and be aware of ramifications of either. I am not comfortable with people saying they were not aware. We all need be responsible to be aware of how to use safely and properly what we are using. If you install a router either yourself not knowing fully how to properly or have friend who does not know how properly rather than have qualified service people, its on you. imo -

Lead of Barenaked Ladies, Ed Robertson , has television program on OLN, called Ed's UP, where he travels about in his float plane, going from place to place experiencing various jobs. He has worked on oil rigs in gulf , to being a cleaner in a hospital, cleaning sewers, being a fighter pilot, working making tires, each week a different location and work place. Kind of interesting program. -

reminded me of the Retatta recipe discussion Darin's famous words start the thread on its way in post 10..... I'm not sure I'd be tossing that name around when you've publically admitted it takes you an hour to cook this friggin abortion. Of course, that may include the drive to the store and the other 43 minutes it takes you to pick the shell out of the pan. "Ow, hot. Ow, hot. Ow, hot!" Fried eggs, pasta, and pickle juice? That's not a recipe, it's wicked hangover Saturday morning breakfast at the college bachelor pad with all the food left in the house. Well, unless you're pregnant. - good reading of times that were -
Admits to using them "When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. I needed to perform, and perform at a high level every day," Rodriguez told ESPN's Peter Gammons in an interview in Miami Beach, Fla. "Back then, [baseball] was a different culture. It was very loose. I was young, I was stupid, I was naïve. I wanted to prove to everyone I was worth being one of the greatest players of all time. "I did take a banned substance. For that, I'm very sorry and deeply regretful."

Lincoln Penny, first change in fifty years
millbank replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Abraham Lincoln's Wrestling Match For a time, the two scufflers circled each other warily. They did some grappling and twisting, but neither man was able to throw the other to the ground. Slowly, Armstrong began to get the worst of it. Finally, Lincoln grabbed the bully by the neck, held him at arm's length, and shook him like a little boy. This aroused the Clary's Grove boys, and it suddenly appeared Lincoln might be attacked by an entire crowd of people. He backed up against the wall of Offutt's store and offered to take them on one at a time. -

Article says it costs 1.4 cents to make a penny -
Lincoln Penny The image on the Penny is going to change for first time in fifty years. In 1909 to celebrate Lincolns birth a penny with a pair of wheat ears was issued. In 1959 to celebrate the 150 year anniversary a penny with the Lincoln Memorial, we see today was issued. Also a silver dollar will be issued, i like the text on back of coin, Lincoln Silver Dollar

i can see you all smiling today from here.... .... -today is Don Cherry's birthday, turns 75 years old . His quote in Globe and Mail "I like it when guys ask me about my age because at 75, I'm still looking good," Cherry said. "I look at myself in the mirror and say 'Grapes, Grapes, you're looking good today. You're going to kill 'em today.'
