“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating... ...and you finish off as an orgasm.” - George Carlin....

Any Recommendations - Toronto Restaurants or Sights
millbank replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Kensington Market St. Lawrence Market Ontario Science Centre Walking down Dundas Street from Yonge Street, you pass the Art Gallery of Ontario, most interesting if you inclinded to art, continue along Dundas and visit Toronto's Chinatown, many shops and local flavor. Further along Dundas you will come to Spadina and Toronto's Art, Garment distict, to the left along Spadina intersects with Queen Street, where are vibrant art community exists. Traveling in ther direction along Spadina you will come to Kensingston Market at Baldwin Street. Really a unique shopping area with much flavor. Nothing like Toronto's St. Lawrence Market, particularly its Easter Market, much color and interesting things to see. If these sort of things do not appeal to you, a day at the Ontario Science Centre just a great place for everyone. Toronto like New York has many ethnic communities all with their own special appeal. Walking along the Danforth, which is Toronto's Greek community on a sunny spring day really special. Some excellent restaurants and clothes stores along the way. The above are areas a family or young couple can find many interesting things and not necessarily spend a fortune doing so. Places like the Eaton's centre while somewhat impressive, are the norm in many large cities, there is so much else to do. Places like Yorkville, very trendy and flat out expensive, interesting to walk through if for nothing else to window shop and people watch... imo If you are able travel to Kleinburg just a short trip from Toronto and visit the McMichael Collection a gallery that houses much of the Group of Seven's art work and other Canadian art works. A nice journey. Be careful at night in the big city.... -

remember the first Mother's Albums and the covers ect and thinking what hilarious looking people. Changed really quick just hearing a few tunes. Zappa and those he played with really great musicians. Remember in 1969 working as case worker in downtown Toronto, seeing the Mothers play at the Rockpile . This not the famous Buffalo Rockpile , but one similarly named in Toronto that for a short while some the greatest of rock played at.. Hendrix, Cream, ect. Often bands after playing at Rockpile would get together and jam at small Toronto coffee houses. Interesting times....

Speak negatively about your doctor, get a lawsuit against you
millbank replied to Fezmid's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Seems to sort of thinking as long as it does not happen to me, it is not a concern. Problem is dependent where you are located having a family Doctor is not always based on choice, he or she being the only Doctor in area , deciding to sign or not sign could mean the difference of having care or not having care. It should be noted also article does state that legal experts do not see how such a agreement could be enforceable in court. If such agreement become the accepted norm how far do they go. To your minister, chef, computer tech, teacher. To the corn field anyone who displeases and says bad things. -
1957 Grey Cup, The Trip video (need to scroll down in classic moments to 1957 grey cup, bawl trip..) This a few years before Cookie Gilchrist joined the Bills and they became champions. His Tiger Cats won Grey Cup this year. Bills coach Elijah Pitts also... One of the most bizarre moments in Grey Cup history took place in the fourth quarter. Bawel intercepted a pass in front of Ernie Pitts and as he raced down the sideline, a fan who happened to be in the vicinity stuck out his foot and tripped him. The referee penalized the Bombers half the distance to the goal line, giving Hamilton a first down on the Winnipeg 21. Cookie Gilchrist ran 16 yards for a touchdown two plays later. The fan was able to slip into the stands unpunished. The Tiger-Cats made the short trip home from Toronto to Steeltown, where 25,000 welcomed their conquering heroes at Market Square in Hamilton. - was seventeen years old then , and it was not so funny at the time, guy tripping Bawl, ( he was called Bibbles Bawl)

Why is Chris Mortensen such a douche?
millbank replied to Major Mud's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being fair, I suppose we all have our opinions but excluding a few, most here just don't know to what extent as has been alluded by many , many times, just how much does Mr. Wilson influence direction of team. What we fault as Mr. Donahoe and others, really belongs at Ralph's door. ( i appreciate a great deal what Mr. Wilson has done in keeping the Bills in Buffalo, for his at times less than popular stances and various issues involving football economics, but it has been said by many , he does not allow those he pays to do the work he pays them for. I recall what was said regarding Mr. Donahoe given full authority, it did not appear that way. imo -
nice try, but if you can't fool a old man like me.... better luck next time....

Will libraries (as physical buildings) become obsolete?
millbank replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Good question and thought to ponder you posed regarding library's . Certainly there is a segment of people who make a regular trek to library but there are also many who would be hard tasked to recall the last time they have read a book. Suppose such things relative to the circles one walks in. Time will tell as economics change and where people wish to spend their money and what they will object to it being spent on. More and more public services are being scaled back in terms of public monies, for Library's to survive, just as art Galleries , it is going to take a commitment by people to do so. Interesting to speculate on what may be priorities of future generations. I have fears about that.. -
O J Simpson Website Claiming O.J. Simpson was dealt an injustice, an effort is under way to solicit money for the former football star's appeal of his Nevada conviction and prison sentence on kidnapping and armed robbery charges. Barrett Prody, the brother of Simpson's former girlfriend, created a nonprofit corporation and an Internet Web site, the Society Against Legal Injustice Inc., to raise money for Simpson. - yikes.....

Most unfortunate. What ever he was up to in past, he had made decision to get out of the meat grinder of sports entertainment, go back to school , get certified to be fitness instructor and have a self interest associated workplace from which to build a better life. Tragic death at such a young age. That four wrestlers have died recently stating the obvious much in wrong in this entertainment source where so many become cartoon like characters, but have far from humorous ends.

TBN: Bills / Peters ~$3 M apart - Peters wants over $11.5 M
millbank replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no idea how contract negotiations , terms of offered contract and counter proposals get into print. Be it by Bills management sorts leaking them or by player agents, but I wish rather than the process of vilification through media, Bills management would offer a player such as Peters a contract of fair value, if player thinks himself best at his position , offer him incentive bonuses which are attainable. They need find out quickly , is he sign able , if not rather than beat him down, it makes no sense in diminishing a asset, shake hands, with player , pump him up as great as possible and find the optimum trade value. No sense to beat him down though... -

Will ML get 1,200 + yards this season??
millbank replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Factoring in suspension time and injuries, 1000 yards will be a tall order. Having said that, the Bills running game will be fine. -

Shoe Thrower Gets Three Years "Long live Iraq," Muntather Zaidi declared in court today, according to his lawyers, after a judge sentenced the improbable hero of Iraqi nationalists to three years in prison for hurling his shoes at former President George W. Bush. Outside the courtroom, his supporters and relatives erupted in jeers over the verdict for the journalist who gained international attention in December when at a news conference in Baghdad he called Bush a dog and lobbed his footwear at him.

RIM To Hire Thousands BlackBerry maker Research In Motion is ushering in thousands of new employees this year, hoping to gain an edge over its competitors by hiring tech gurus laid off by others in slower parts of the technology sector. The Waterloo-based company has emerged as one of the rare Canadian companies growing operations during the economic downturn, with plans to add about 3,000 new workers in 2009 and increase its workforce to about 15,000. Founder and co-chief executive officer Mike Lazaridis said his company isn't battening down the hatches as it weathers the recession, but rather looking for ways to grow. "This is the easiest time to say, 'I have to be very careful and wind down my investments,"' he said - RIM great place to work. Its does have a number of U.S locals, for those looking why not send in a resume.
