I like your selections, except I'd take Bears and Pack. From the top list, I'd take: Denver, Raiders, Philly, and KC.

What does Elam and a pick get you in this market?
MasterStrategist replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Run the cap numbers and get back to me. Spoiler: It won't work. Plus, any play Elam is next man up at boundary corner. That's more valuable than any "realistic" trade will garner us. -
Had to, his IR window was closing/closed. Either activated to 53 or needed cut. To your 1st point, it's quite simple--- we knew that our identity to start the year would be running and utilizing our RBs. We had a rookie RB in Davis, no guarantee that he'd pan out. Also no guarantee that our Top 3 RBs would be mostly healthy at this juncture. Basic insurance policy.

Diontae Johnson to the Ravens (now claimed by Houston)
MasterStrategist replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think it's even less than 900k. Diontae is inconsistent and can be a locker room disaster, if he's not getting his targets. Contract implication similar to Cooper, but far different players on different talent level. Cooper is the better WR IMO, without the headaches of a diva WR--clearly a focus after Diggs departure. -
Agree. Gmen also playing into Russ's strength, which is a very good deep ball. I'd never blitz the house against him. Giants have been burned multiple times now. Same situation cost us last year vs Denver. Russ doesn't make many mistakes either, which will keep them in alot of games, given their defense is still very strong.

When we get into the final 4-6 games, I'm hoping our pass rush has figured things out. Not to say they've been bad, but average won't cut it when we're playing the elite QBs. Between Ed/Groot/Von/AJE, be great if one could emerge as a gamechanger come playoffs. I won't count out Solomon or Carter either. Both have the ability, and I think Solomon can surprise if given more snaps.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
MasterStrategist replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're accurate on a lot of posts, but I think this "could" be inaccurate. 1. Diggs wanted the final years voided. Gave him a chance to be a FA after 2024 2. He only had $3.5m of guaranteed money after 2024 (in 2025 year, none in 26 or 27) Essentially 25-27 was a 3 yr $51m contract, with only $3.5m guaranteed. Diggs wanted to be a FA after 24, ability to cash in on 1 more Sizeable contract. Again, he had very little guaranteed $ beyond 2024. Instead, he gets $3.5m cash advanced to 2024+future FA $$$ opportunity+ability to go to a team of his choosing in 25 (highly rumored to be Dallas). This was all about Diggs, nothing in terms of him taking less $$$. -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
MasterStrategist replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're overthinking my point and response. Simple as Diggs isn't on our team anymore. I'm not wishing ill will or feeling sadness. Again, you're looking to instigate when there's nothing here. Diggs does well in Houston, or he faces tough times. It was his decision to leave. -

I don't think anyone is celebrating, at least I'm not. Just stating I'm not feeling bad for him. -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
MasterStrategist replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's ok to love his good times and be sour/upset with what transpired over the last 24 months. He's costing us $30m on cap this year. Part of that is Beane. He gave Stef the $$$s he was asking for and deserved at the time. Stef's attitude also took a 180, his play was suspect and made a critical drop in the playoffs. Then all but forced his way out of Buffalo, again costing us a ton of cap. Not to mention alot of backroom/behind the scene antics that wore on alot of players/staff. Loved the good times, but he reverted to his Minnesota self last year. Exactly what many warned of. Stef honeymoon period is great, eventually the game becomes more about him over team. -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
MasterStrategist replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
What is so wrong with what I said, to deserve this? You're clearly sensitive. My point is what I said. I'm not here hoping Diggs tore his ACL or cheering that he was injured. As I said in my post, I'm not showing any sympathy though. Sometimes bad things happen. See Desean Watson, a completely different situation/injury. Again, it's not about wishing injury on anyone or hoping for the worst outcome. It's about recognizing that Diggs forced his way out, and now is injured. Facts and facts. Call it karma, call it bad luck...doesn't implicate what you're trying to get across. -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
MasterStrategist replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Non contact knee injuries, tend to be on the serious side. The knee bend/action looked like a possible ACL. Hate seeing players get injured. But karma can be a b****. I'm not giving him any sympathy. -

Agree. Shakir playing extremely well, but I'm most impressed with Keon playing so well against one of the top corners in the NFL. Not to mention Keon has been an absolute DUDE in run blocking, wait for the all-22/twitter comments to come out after the game on his blocking -

Cook and Coleman really stepping up on offense today, along with OL. This is what we've been trying to build, strength in the trenches. -

Great tip and pick by Dline. Toohill textbook on playing that screen. Austin with the quick instincts. -

Lots of penalties but we've also had alot of breaks. Sign of a good team to take advantage and clean up fouls after Q1. That was a heck of a drive. -

Smart timeout. Get a solid run play called here, and get Josh on QB sneak on 4th if needed, then burn 2nd timeout. -

We built a team more equipped to run the ball. This favors us IMO. -

Penalties need to stop, but we've overcome them mostly, fortunately. Need to keep Geno in 3rd and 5+. Like us staying aggressive on offense, playaction on early downs. -
Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread
MasterStrategist replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Without DK, I think we can be more flexible with dropping safeties/mixing more looks. Lockett is still a major deep threat, but I would assume we'd roll/bracket coverage on DK a good bit of time. If he's out, as it appears he will be, that's a MUCH bigger loss compared to Bernard. No offense to Terrel here. Spector is a capable backup, and I'd expect Terrel will be ready for Miami. -
Carter has been an underrated player so far. With many still critiquing Beane about the use of the 3rd round pick. Silver lining is that it doesn't seem to be season ending, possibly even less than 4 weeks. Another year of defensive injuries, across the board (and Von suspension). Good news Von is back next week and we can slide Smoot back to 3T more often. Also sounds like Matt Milano recovery might be going well.

May have missed it, but did Coach give any details on Bernard? I know he's out this week, but is that due to his ankle OR personal? Info on personal? -
Thursday Night Football - Vikings at Rams

We shall see, I think this should be a -4.5 Viking line.
