  1. It doesn’t seem like it should be so difficult, especially when you have major question marks at the receiver position. Was it ever directly stated that was the plan? I like the idea, but I’m just curious if it was mentioned by the team. I thought the Kincaid choice was just a best player available decision, and we’ll worry about Knox later.
  2. This might be a sign of me getting old, but Bishop doesn’t even look like a guy who could be a successful NFL safety.
  3. Why does no one ever mention the defense on the final Texans drive? That was also an epic McD fail imo. We should have played an aggressive normal defensive. Instead, we go into a soft prevent defense to defend against deep throws down field. There was zero pass rush, everyone played well off the line, but the Texans only needed a few yards to get into field goal range. It wouldn’t have mattered if they completed a deep pass, or an eight yard pass. We needed to stop them, but McD assumes anything longer than a 40 yard field goal attempt is some type of victory for us.
  4. I can’t say with certainty that Josh had a concussion, but it doesn’t seem like everyone understands. Concussions don’t necessarily mean you completely lose the ability to function mentally for an extended period of time. Not all concussions are the same, and not every person is the same.
  5. Bills staff offered Josh smelling salts before he went back into the game, not sure how that would help with a chest injury. I’m surprised how many take this independent neurologist thing seriously. The league wants their stars in the game. You think they’d take Mahomes out of a Super Bowl for a concussion? Give me a break, it isn’t happening.
  6. He’s the GOAT, but the game has passed him by. and he wouldn’t be able to connect with players as a leader at this point.
  7. I still think this is the offense McD wants because it runs the clock to preserve the defense. I agree, it’s ridiculous, it negates your best player.
  8. I think any decent defense can figure out a running/short passing scheme that’s very predictable. Allen running and the defensive dominating made Brady look good last year.
  9. I’m not writing him off, I just think there’s nothing in his college career that indicates he’ll be a sure number one receiver. I see him as a potential complementary piece, not a number one. I think many people are assuming he’ll become a number one.
  10. I think people have always hoped for Keon to become a player that he was unlikely to ever be.
  11. It will be interesting to see how Kalen DeBoer responds to this Bama loss. I’ve never been sold on him being a smart coach. Dude almost gave away a Washington win in the playoffs by not knowing to take a knee. Those type of things matter at Bama. The SEC has a thin margin of error.
  12. I agree, but I could see Miami/Cal being a decent game. It wouldn’t shock me to see Miami lose, or win by a thin margin. I think Miami is overrated as usual. Cam Ward has been great, and he’s the main reason Miami is improved, but I don’t trust Miami to win when the QB has a week where he isn’t spectacular.
  13. I agree, I’m just saying, everyone likes to mock McDaniels for not commanding respect, but you have Reid running a team that’s out of control in their behavior. It’s his ability as an OC that makes them win games.
  14. Travis Kelce shoved Reid on the sideline. That doesn’t seem like an old school leader who demands respect.
  15. You’re probably correct in a lot of this, but I don’t think the average fan can assess leadership ability from sideline television images. The most important leadership happens behind closed doors. He might be a terrible leader, but I don’t know it’s that easy to say.
  16. I think people want the Vince Lombardi speeches, but today’s game is more about X’s and O’s. McDaniel is good at that part of the game, and he’s now coaching a backup QB. Teams don’t usually win with a backup. That’s not solely on the coach. I don’t think he’s great, but I think the leadership/pep talk stuff is overrated. This generation of players isn’t going to respond to Kneut Rockne speeches. It’s more about players liking their head coach, avoiding a toxic environment. It seems that team likes McDaniel plenty well enough.
  17. It stinks on principle considering his contract, but this doesn’t change our defense.
  18. I had issues with our coaching last night, but I will say it’s easier to win big when you’re allowed to hit like it’s 1978. The Ravens are given a lot of freedom by the NFL to play tough nosed football. I was amazed at some of the non calls.
  19. Yeah, I agree about the obvious run looks. If I recall correctly, we had a run with Mack Hollins as our only wideout on the field. I’m willing to sellout to stop the run if Hollins is the only WR on the field.
  20. I knew it was going to be a long night when McD punted on fourth and two from the fifty during the first possession. I understand it’s risky, but it showed we were prepared to coach conservatively against this opponent.
  21. I don’t want to cry about it, but I can’t imagine the refs being cool with Mahomes taking some of those hits last night.
  22. I don’t disagree, but this loss was a complete meltdown. It’s almost futile to point out individuals imo. No one was very good tonight.
  23. Why are the Ravens still throwing? The Harbaugh’s never fail to amaze me.
  24. Lots of people disappointed in Hamiln and Bass. I can’t even get to the point of caring about that. Our issues tonight extend well beyond individual players.
  25. Kicking a field goal was pretty lame to begin with.
