Jack Kent Cooke died in 1997. How strong is your guy's inside information if he's presumably been out of NFL-related work for well over a decade? The Bills-Toronto series only started in 2008, yet he's already hearing NFL guys calling it a bust? Or is that just your guy's own opinion? I simply can't believe that the NFL would be so eager to abandon this entire region (Buffalo, Toronto, Hamilton, and Rochester). That's 9+ million people right there, 53+ years of tradition, and fairly consistent sellouts in spite of 11+ years of terrible football. I realize that LA is a veritable goldmine for the NFL, and I do happen to be one of those people who believes that LA can eventually support 2 NFL teams. However, if I were to represent the NFL, I'd rather see one of either the Raiders or Chargers plus the Jags in LA over the Bills. Both the Raiders and Jags have history in LA, are already located close enough to the city, and - most importantly - have major stadium issues at the moment. Jacksonville has little NFL history, constant sellout issues despite usually fielding a decent team, few fortune 500 companies, a metro population size about the same as Buffalo's, and lots of competition with college football/Fins/Bucs/Falcons. London? Come on, now. Nevermind the travel logistics. Is there enough evidence that Londoners will support American football beyond the occasional exhibition spectacle? NFL Europe failed, yet now we're going to start moving real NFL franchises overseas? One more thing: look at the New Orleans Saints. It's a market size about the same as Buffalo's, has maybe even a worse economic situation than WNY but without the Toronto or Rochester type of markets for support, and historically has an even worse NFL tradition than the Bills. Yet very recently, the franchise upgraded the Louisiana Superdome and won a Super Bowl. Now the Saints are a huge financial success. Moorman and Williams are the only 2 that one could make a legitimate case right now for deserving to be on this list. But this is a very young team and the Bills do have some young guys who could make a push for top 100 very soon. Spiller, Wood, Johnson, Dareus, and Byrd immediately come to mind...though this could easily be wishful thinking on my part.

That's the most important advice right there. If he tweets anything outrageous like "we have a good team and are going to win a fair amount of games this season" or "it's Friday night and I'm hanging out with friends instead of reading the playbook and lifting weights" he will become a Western NY pariah.

I empathize with the OP. It's difficult finding a reliable lawn mower these days. I was going through a real rough patch of shady lawn mowers until I met my current lawn mower, Eduardo, at a convention a couple years back. He later introduced me to his cousin, Roberto, who also mows lawns. Now they take turns mowing my lawn. Especially during the sultry summer seasons when my lawn really grows wild. Occasionally I will return the favor and mow their lawns on holidays and birthdays.

Agreed. Plus, there's a Bills-related reason for rooting for the Bruins. Allow me to explain... Jeremy Jacobs is the owner of the Bruins. He is a very rich man from Buffalo. He's gone on record as having interest in the Bills post-Ralph. If the Bruins win a Cup, he will have already achieved his ultimate goal with the NHL. The Bruins will also be worth more upon selling if they have just won a Cup. See where I'm going with this? It's quite possible that the very future of the Bills in Buffalo depends on the hated Bruins winning the Cup, no?

Really? How? I'm figuring that a LOT of draft picks from the past 2 years would have to seriously underachieve in order for the Bills to be picking 1st overall next spring. And if that's the case, then I will start to doubt the direction of this team under Nix and Gailey. Even if we get to 1st overall solely due to injuries, then we have an injury-prone roster on our hands. Some of you guys take the importance of a franchise QB to extremes. There are still 52 other players on a roster; those guys matter too. Wouldn't it be far easier (and more fun) to root for Fitzpatrick developing into a very good QB while filling in the remainder of the pieces at OL, TE, and OLB via free agency and maybe another solid draft? Hell, for all we know Luck will pull a Brian Brohm this fall. Or maybe he will sustain a concussion that turns him into mush like that previous Stanford QB who lost his mojo and did nothing but check down for the rest of his career. Those are the factors you really need to consider before supporting this franchise QB brinksmanship. There. I've said my piece. Now digest and discuss.

This is what the Steelers do. They draft lots of middle to late round LB's and somehow end up with some real gems. I'm ok with this crazy "nothing but LB" strategy, provided Nix has plans for addressing the RT and TE positions in free agency. We have the worst LB's in the NFL, which is unacceptable for a supposed 3-4 defense.

I can easily see the Bills taking either Gabbert, Green, or Peterson instead of Dareus. You don't become the worst NFL team in the 21st century by drafting intelligently.

I love the NLL, and I honestly have more fun following the Bandits than I do the Bills or Sabres. The East is completely up for grabs now. The Bandits and Rock have been backing their way into the playoffs. I don't know much about the West, but I'm rooting for the Swarm to make it to the finals since the other 3 teams have already won championships. Your encounter with Ross doesn't surprise me. The bottom line is that every other NFL team but the Bills and a couple retarded analysts had Maybin down as a third rounder. Knowing what we do now, he should have gone undrafted because: 1. He has too small of a body frame to maintain an NFL-caliber DE/LB size without losing speed and agility. 2. He has an uncoachable personality.

How about a full body tattoo of the Bills War Room on April 25, 2009, with Modrak and Brandon and Jauron standing next to the draft board as Jauron points to Maybin's name that is shown ranked ahead of Orakpo and Cushing and Matthews? That would be pretty hardcore, IMO.
