Epenesa was probably meant to be 3-4 5t DE in the NFL. He could have kept his weight and worked on getting even stronger and stouter. Solid 2-gap edge-setter at his length and strength. (Not at ALL how the Bills projected him, of course.)

I.e., wasn't meant to be a "Finisher" so much as a guy who re-establishes the LOS in favor of the defense.

Epenesa is terrible and the worst decision this off-season to bring him back. Complete waste of money and cap space.

I think that's the right pick for the Jets long term. My #10 overall player. HOWEVER, he can only play LT IMO. So how does he get on the field this year if Tyron Smith is healthy? It seems odd to spend your first rounder in an all or nothing win or bust year for your GM, HC and QB on a guy who might not get on the field.

Honest question how can a LT not play RT? I see it the other way but makes no sense a LT can't play on the right side.

I am so confused by this pick. What the heck are they doing.

Penix is about to turn 24. With that contract Kirk is guaranteed to the be their at least 2 years.

    What a stupid franchise.

    Absolutely stunningly stupid pick.

But honestly the contract for Cousins is an even worse decision. Probably the worst FA signing all year.

Nice job Atlanta. They are screwed

  4. Our best hope for today is there is a run on OT, a reach or two on QBs, and defensive needy teams like Falcons stay true and draft defense.

That pushes WR talent down and Beane can get a guy at 28. He probably will panic and jump up 8 spots or so and get Thomas or Worthy. That's his MO.

On Chris Simms’s show, he had someone on saying that there is a huge divide between casual college football fans who tend to think some version of what you say here and actual NFL teams’ views on McCarthy. Simms pointed out that he’ll come in to the league with one of the strongest arms (he clocked 61 mph at the combine, which is truly elite). He also was by far and away the top rated passer in major college ball on 3rd/4th downs over the past two seasons, which is a key analytics stat for teams. They were a run-first team so he was never really asked to throw that much, but teams apparently think quite highly of him.

Good let some team make a mistake on him. If he was that elite Harbaugh would have thrown the ball more. I'm going to guess many of those third down throws were manageable distances where there was still a threat of the run. That doesn't happen in the NFL. Anything longer than 3rd and 2 in the NFL and teams are throwing and the defense knows you are throwing it.
