The trade with Carolina is a no brainer for many reasons.
1. You confirm with Carolina the player they are moving up to select is not the player you want. If it is then you don’t make the trade.
2. you move up about 60 spots from late 6th to high 5th. That is the 125 ranked player vs the 185.3. the newly acquired high 5th rounder is a much more valuable trade chip to improve 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders.
4. The first pick in the 2nd round is often a highly traded pick as teams reevaluate their boards (since moving to the 3 day format), giving more trade down opportunities.
Not sure how you get 125th ranked player. The fifth round pick they got is pick 141.

Very puzzling to give up the 5th year of player control for what?
Beane and McDermott will be long gone by then

Epenesa was probably meant to be 3-4 5t DE in the NFL. He could have kept his weight and worked on getting even stronger and stouter. Solid 2-gap edge-setter at his length and strength. (Not at ALL how the Bills projected him, of course.)
I.e., wasn't meant to be a "Finisher" so much as a guy who re-establishes the LOS in favor of the defense.
Epenesa is terrible and the worst decision this off-season to bring him back. Complete waste of money and cap space.

Douglas is 29 and will be 30 when the season starts.
I love this world. I got a disagree emoji for posting a fact. Douglas birthday is 8/29/1994.

Bigger point is, they didn't clue Cousins in at all. I mean, not that they had to. How much of his contract is guaranteed, anyway?
No idea.
Remember Mahomes sat for a year. This kid will sit while Cousins plays (assuming he can post Achilles tear)

They had to know this was a likely pick for weeks, right? No way they thought Penix would be gone before their pickAgreed! They knew they could get him. Surprised they didn't try to move down a spot or two and still get him

Has a defenseman been chosen yet? I’m starting to think BPA may be on defense. The WR position will remain deep.
Nope 14 for 14 offense

WOW
12 picks in
6 - QB's
3 -- WR's
3 -- OT's
.
And we have a defensive minded HC who just traded away our star WR...
Place is going to go nuts if they draft DT at 28
-
Dam well there it is 6 QBs in 12 picks. That's insane. I'm not sure 3 of these guys are even going to be mediocre.
Holy hell!

Im happy no Brock Bowers to the Jets.
Agreed! Could go to Denver here but my guess is Denver trades out for someone that wants Bowers here

I think that's the right pick for the Jets long term. My #10 overall player. HOWEVER, he can only play LT IMO. So how does he get on the field this year if Tyron Smith is healthy? It seems odd to spend your first rounder in an all or nothing win or bust year for your GM, HC and QB on a guy who might not get on the field.
Honest question how can a LT not play RT? I see it the other way but makes no sense a LT can't play on the right side.

I am so confused by this pick. What the heck are they doing.
Penix is about to turn 24. With that contract Kirk is guaranteed to the be their at least 2 years.
What a stupid franchise.
Absolutely stunningly stupid pick.
But honestly the contract for Cousins is an even worse decision. Probably the worst FA signing all year.
Nice job Atlanta. They are screwed

Such a waste of time. They should be forced to open the show with the first pick announcement.

how do we afford JJ ATM? We don't have the cap space.
Allen hasn't restructured yet and White comes off the books in 5 weeks

I'm not paying for ESPN+
Anyone know who Kiper mocked for Bills?

Can't stand McAfee. He ruined College GameDay. He is the white redneck version of Stepen A Smith. Add the fact he pays Rodgers to spout out his bullshat and he is unwatchable.

Giants getting Nabers and pasing on McCarthy was great move. Lots of pressure to go QB and they made the best choice.
