Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
How did Flores botch Tua any worse than McDermott botched Allen??? Allen could not have been in a worse situation his first two years. I agree he should have kept playing Fitz while they had a shot at the playoffs. Probably lost a fair amount of the locker room. But these guys are pros and everyone of them knows young QBs are going to struggle at times. -
Not sure how to feel about it. We have no idea how much Dorsey has been contributing to the game plan and the success. And he has never called games is my understanding, so that will be new. I suspect replacing the OL coach will be equally if not more important to next year's success. It will be interesting to see if he has a running game coordinator to help him. A fresh new perspective vs continuity. Pros and cons either way. Offense is least of my worries. Add an interior linemen or two and an upgrade on TE#2 and the offense will be fine. They have lots of options on how to structure the WR group and as in another thread I'm fine with Singletary as the feature back.

Don't be surprised if Josh Allen has a bumpy 2022
Ethan in Cleveland replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP your main premise makes no sense. JA had a better year in 2020 than he did in 2021. The NFL was not waiting for him to do it again before making adjustments. They already did. Allen and the offense will be fine. He will continue to evolve, run less, and take fewer chances. Fix the defense. Fix the coaching. -
The last time a Bills coordinator got a HC job?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to ProcessTruster's topic in The Stadium Wall
All while giving up franchise record rushing yards if I remember correctly. His defense got sacks and turnovers but was gashed while defending the run -
Honestly what do you do moving forward?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interior OL and defense. -
I answered OL. Wallace was fine as CB#2. The interior OL was a mess most of the year. They could do far worse than to bring back Wallace for another year. And they need to protect Allen at all costs. That said I would sign an OG in FA and draft CB and C in the first 3 rounds. Get TE#2 in FA. And then add a DL in the draft. Hopefully let Addison go and bring back Hughes for one more year

Shocking another white retread previous loser HC gets another chance. Raiders have one of the best track record hiring minority coaches. Sad.

He's the best TE the Bills have had since they played in the AFL. Not sure what the question is. He is a top 8 TE in this league. Yes you pay him. They need a better TE #2. Gilliam and Sweeney need to both go. They are roster bottom feeders. Doyle or another OT is your blocking TE. I would prefer a veteran as TE #2. The position takes a long time to learn.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Appreciate the effort and the detail. Excellent work. So how different would it be taking a WR with an ACL tear than it was taking McGahee? I appreciate the fact that his value would drop and it would be an intriguing pick. I'd be ok with it if they moved down and picked him in the 2nd round and added another 2nd round pick. Other than that scenario this would be about the worst thing Beane could do. He has to be all-in to win a SB next year. Trade for a proven veteran OL, a pass rusher, draft a CB#2, or even a 1-tech DT. All of those positions help you win now. Not an injured WR. -
Is Singletary good enough?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good question. I guess the most pertinent context would be is he good enough to remain the starter and therefore not use significant FA,dollars or high draft picks to upgrade the position? For me upgrading starting cant be in the top 10 things Beane is going to have to deal with. Im not saying he needs 10 new starters. Im saying he needs to deal with many more important issues on both lines, CB#2, and many backup spots before using resources on RB. -
Not watching any of it. Still have not recovered. Prefer Cincinnati and San Francisco rematch.

Offseason Trade Prediction: We acquire Saquan
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I said no for three reasons. I'm fine with Singletary. The Moss and a fourth or any of the scenarios seems like something the Giants would not feel is adequate compensation. Im not giving up draft picks for an injured RB. And ladt, I'm not spending limited cap on a RB. I would have last year with Harris in round 1. Not now. They need several replacements on both lines and a CB#2. -
He said, "Go Bills", and then mocked us by saying "They are still in it aren't they?

It's not that the window will close it that it becomes much more difficult. Seattle is already falling apart but that was also due to the fact they also paid Lynch, Wagner, Thomas, Sherman, Wright and Chancellor. They tied up a huge portion of their cap in under 10 guys. Then they drafted terribly. Green Bay gas stayed relevant with Rodgers as they did ok at retooling their OL with high draft picks, but have not built a decent defense in over a decade. The Pats did it not by Brady taking less money. It was by Belichick cutting guys just as they got expensive. He did it repeatedly and managed to rebuild mostly through shrewd FA acquisitions.

A flag would have been nice too
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
It should have ben called and it might have affected the game. I probably choose to push the PAT back, but I can see an argument for the kickoff being pushed back. If he misses the PAT then it is a 3 pt game. Have to wonder if Buffalo is as aggressive and instead of playing for game winning TD they play for a game tying FG. Too many variables to say one way or another Still McD and the coaching staff blew the 13 seconds and cost us a chance at a SB title..... Until Buffalo makes and wins a SB those 13 seconds are the worst moment in Bills history since wide-right. -
Bass didn't get the memo (Joe B All-22)?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would not have been that loud during the tv timeout. Remember Bills had just scored and were about to win the game. The crowd was not screaming. Why is this so hard? McDermott screwed up. Either directly or his staff screwed up but in the moment he should be making all the decisions. It is his fault the Bills aren't playing this weekend. Levi Wallace does not line up 15 yards off the ball if not by design. He will be the coach next year. He will either get better or he won't. Our only hope is Allen. -
With Allen, can the Bills de-emphasize skill positions?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
If de-emphasizing the skill positions means they focus on the OL. Im fine with that. Once the line started playing better the offense was unstoppable. I'm fine with Diggs, Beasley, Davis and Knox as my top 4. I add a rookie in the first 3 rounds. I'd be fine with Sanders for another year too. And I add a TE#2 and get rid of Sweeney and Gilliam. -
Is Singletary good enough?

Interesting take. I see your point. I'd probably favor speed but s big bruising back in Buffalo weather would be an asset. Bills have rarely had a big back. I Obviously OJ was a rare combination of both size and speed. Antowain Smith was a bruiser. And Lynch for a couple season. -

Career 4.7 YPC. Is that really a JAG? What would be an improvement? There were 9 guys that had a higher YPC this year but 3 of the were QBs.
