  1. @RyanTalbotBills Great article that I thought would create some good dialogue here. In all actuality though, do you think it’s realistic for Bennett to go on the Wall in 2019? I think there would be some major backlash given the off the field stuff that happened in Buffalo year ago.
  2. Yep a solid resume for sure. I think towards the end of his stint he was one of those linemen that get into the Pro Bowl based on name value alone. But then again he was an All Pro in Chicago once he left too
  3. It’s a tough situation because if you look at what he did on the field, he deserves it. But it won’t look good to celebrate someone that pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct in the same city. Plus the team has its own rumored recent history of misconduct and bad behavior among the administration (who have since been fired). I don’t think you can put Bennett on the wall in 2019. The moment they do, the team will be flooded with complaints from fans, journalists and maybe even sponsors. I think he’ll get on the wall at some point, but that it won’t happen this year
  4. I would agree and have no problem taking his name off the wall. I think the issue is that he technically was found innocent of the murder charges. And as crazy as it sounds, I don’t think the armed robbery arrest was enough to take him down....only in the NFL
  5. Ryan Talbot and the crew at NY Upstate recently wrote an article ranking 10 ex Bills who deserve to be on The Wall Of Fame aka “the shield that guards the realm of men.” He is clear the list is only based on the on-field accomplishments. But you know how that goes. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/expo/sports/g66l-2019/05/ca1467fe036e4/whos-next-for-buffalo-bills-wall-of-fame-ranking-cornelius-bennett-kyle-williams-more.html To say the least - there are some interesting rankings. I feel that Aaron Shoebel is ranked too high and Fred Jackson and Kyle Williams are more deserving that Shoebel. I don’t really know enough about Butch Byrd. Eric Moulds and Reuben Brown are great choices The surprise to me is Cornelius Bennett ranked #1. For his on the field contributions, I would agree he should be ranked toward the top as next selection. But in 2019, I think Bennett would be a very tough sell given the fact that he pleaded guilty to misconduct over an incident that happened in downtown Buffalo. I think his selection would get a lot of backlash and that owner Kim Pegula would take a lot of heat. I’m not saying that I agree or disagree either way, but I don’t think it’s a likely move. If it was up to you, what former Bill would you place in the Wall?
  6. I don’t doubt that he looks good but I also learned to take what Chris Brown says with a grain of salt back in 2006. His reporting is fluff. I hope he’s right but don’t have any confidence in his opinion. I think he said Peterman looked good at OTA’s last year too
  7. Long story shot - he took a banned substance and got caught and is now making excuses
  8. It’s an excuse and not entirely valid like much of his criticism of Allen. As much as we hate him, Tom Brady is frequently lauded for his work ethic, among other things. If all QB’s had a strong work ethic, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
  9. It’s not shocking that those rankings come from Football Outsiders Depending on the metric you go by, you’ll find Allen ranked closer to Darnold and higher than Jackson and Rosen. But even going by your logic, a “parody of an NFL QB” probably certainly be ranked lower than 30th. In no way, would a “parody” be ranked higher than Lamar Jackson, who is “not a parody” right? Also go read the article by Ryan Talbot. He explains how you could see progress in Allen after coming back from the elbow injury. Also, a “parody” probably doesn’t lead a team with bad talent around them to a 4-4 record. Again, not saying that Allen is a great QB yet....but yes he has performed better than the bleak outlook from old man Schatz Because a second rate analytics site like Football Outsiders are right 100% of the time... don’t you know? Something tells me @Kemp is a big fan of Mike Schopp
  10. It should be noted that Allen already has outperformed the prognosis that Schatz and others predicted during his rookie year. Football outsiders went on record saying that Allen was a parody of an NFL QB, and backtracking themselves from those comments now would only hurt their credibility even worse. As someone said old Schatzy is trying to hedge his bets.
  11. Your cherry picking stats. In the game against NYJ at home White was burned on several big catches because he couldn’t cover Anderson. When it mattered, he was indeed“toasted” by Anderson. He couldn’t make a play when needed. Not the same for Anderson. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s very good and that he had an excellent rookie year. But I’d like to see him have less moments like he had against Anderson before talking about his being the best CB in the league
  12. Wow now THIS thread is really contributing positively to the community. Great job??
  13. This move could spell the end for Reginald Ragland in KC.
  14. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed but regardless you know Beane and McDermott will get their full 5 years
  15. Its probably more about his family. An NFL job would be super demanding and he’d have to travel every week. His job with NFL probably allows him to work from home for most of the week
  16. Yes this does need its own thread... it’s a separate topic Erik Turner from Cover 1... now working under Doug Whaley in the XFL
  17. It makes sense in theory, as the season for GMs and scouts ends after the draft. I do fee NYJ would have been wise (as would the Bills) to fire him when they moved on from Bowels
  18. I don’t get this move. MM has had 2 pretty good drafts and brought NYJ Jamel Adams.
  19. Did she work in Niagara Falls, Canada in the late 1980’s? I might know her. Might.
  20. This is more than likely the case. He was in an impossible with the Bills. Never should have been a 1st round pick to begin with and it messed with his head.
  21. I remember someone burned a #3 after the Jacksonville disaster
