There is real hatred between the Bengals & Steelers franchises. When Pitt opened the game flat on offense and then got careless with the ball I'm not surprised that the Bengals have jumped all over them. -

Actually I wish Big Ben and the Pitt offense had wet the bed with THREE TO's in the first half. Every week is new in the NFL and transitive math has NEVER worked in football. This is why the Denver game was so dangerous for the Bills. The Broncos had a good D and it was their chance on national TV to strut their stuff. For the Bengals it's the same thing with the added motivation of truly hating the Steelers. -

So do you think the Jets discredited our win over the Rams? This is the NFL and this is a nasty rivalry. -

How the Allen narrative has changed.....
CincyBillsFan replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That drives me crazy to. Almost every non Western NY review of Allen babbles on about him sucking his first two years and then magically is great in his third. It's lazy and shows they don't have a clue at what they're talking about. The Allen progression can be broken down into 6 segments: Segment 1: Thrown to the wolves in game 2 of 2018. Bad offense combined with Allen being raw and not getting many snaps with the 1st team in preseason. Sure he struggled big time with head scratching throws & decisions but he also flashed brilliant like with the Vikings game. Segment 2: After he came back from his injury he dazzled with his running game and started making those signature Allen super throws. Bills won 3 games and though Allen still struggled at times he also shined. Clear improvement from the 1st segment. Segment 3: The first 3 games of 2019 saw Allen much improved at reading coverages and throwing the ball around. But still he was to careless with the ball and a disastrous NE game made us wonder. Segment 4: After the NE game Allen elevated his QB play significantly and helped the Bills clinch a playoff spot with 2 games left in the season. Had an okay game in the playoffs. Clearly the improvement of Allen from the first half of 2018 to the end of 2019 was as big as his jump this year. At the end of last season there was no doubt Allen could function as a pocket passing QB that could read defenses. Now the only question was how high was up? Segment 5: We saw how high was up through the first 4 games this season as Allen shredded defenses and piled up stats. Then Allen got dinged up and faced back to back playoff caliber teams that adjusted how you defended Allen and he struggled for a couple of weeks. Segment 6: Allen got healthy and adjusted his own play to match the new reality of how defenses would play the Bills. He added patience to his resume and he is now playing better QB then he was at the start of the season. -
I read a Denver media summary of the game and they mentioned 34 mph wind gusts during the game! It might explain why Lock never threw anything downfield. If it was that windy it made Allen's game even more impressive.

Week 15 Bills @ Broncos Postgame Thread
CincyBillsFan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the key point for those getting worried about a head in the window for a second. It really does require prolonged contact (at least 15 minutes) in a closed environment for spread to occur. And as you point out YoloinOhio the intangibles of this kind of fan expression are off the charts good for the franchise. -

He would benefit form another year in college football IMO. And unless the Buckeyes go on a run and win the National Championship they may have screwed up with Ryan Day as coach. This is the 2nd game this year where Day has refused to run the ball when it was there for the taking. I'm an outlier as an Ohio State fan but I've not been impressed with Day. -

Is it me or is that John Valby singing this tune? If it is it's his first PG rated song. And it's only PG because of the fat guy. -

Very weak call. How many times have you seen the exact same hit made with no call. -

The officials are evil. First a hold on the Raiders WR then illegal contact on back to back plays. How a flag wasn't thrown on one of those plays is beyond me. They're either corrupt or grossly incompetent. -

NFL officials are evil. They miss a clear late hit out of bounds on Marriotta and then on the very next play call holding on the Raiders. This league has a real problem with the guys in stripes. -

Did dumb & dumber just say that the analytics would tell you to go for it on 4th & goal at the end of the first half when you get the 2nd half KO? That's nuts as the FG gives you a chance to score 10 points at the end of the first/beginning of the 2nd half. Herbert is impressive. The AFC is loaded at QB. It's getting old watching the outstanding production of NFL TE's in the passing game while the Bills get next to nothing. IMO this is our #1 offensive need for next year. -

Bradshaw just called Joe Burrough "Doug". What a clown. -
Are you seriously saying this? Allen was brutally questioned about his long term viability because he took off and ran at the drop of a hat. He was called a RB playing QB and his upside was compared to Tim Tebow. I get what you're saying with respect to Jackson but the LAST QB in the NFL to use as the example would be Allen. Almost every "expert" was saying he was a bust and a joke of a QB. An honest and non-racial take on the 2018 QB class was that BOTH Jackson & Allen, who were both gifted but very unconventional QB's, were going to be busts while Rosen, Darnold & Mayfield were all super stars in the making. The topic of discussion by Mr. Foxworth and others should be the irony that the likely two best QB's from that class are Allen & Jackson. And that this may be ushering in a new reality where unconventional QBing will rule the day in the NFL. As for the comments about Bills fans with American flags and Dogs on their social media pages being racist. I can't even wrap my mind around such foolishness.

Home Playoff Games-Any Hope For Fans??
CincyBillsFan replied to DQW87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My understanding is that in Ohio they're contact tracing to see if these games are acting as super spreader events and so far they're not. We actually had a high school football season in Ohio where teams were allowed to admit 15% of their stadiums seating capacity. HS football is big down here and it's not unusual for stadiums to seat 7,500 - 10,000 fans. So crowds of 1,000 or more fans, mostly players families and band parents, were at the games. Everyone played a 6 game schedule and then there was a 6 game playoff slate. We got all the way through holding state championships for 7 divisions (there are over 750 schools playing football in Ohio). I also don't think they found any evidence that covid was spread at the games. I would hope that NY State would at least consider letting say 5,000 people into the stadium which would include players family's for any playoff games. -

No chance in hell. Pluto is more likely to leave it's orbit and crash into the earth then a single fan is allowed into Rich Stadium this season. And if I say anymore the powers that be are going to timeout my butt so I'll shut up now. -
Fair enough but going after Bills fans seems like a real gutter move IMO. Down here in Cincinnati the take on us is that we're colorful, pretty crazy, super loyal and very decent folks. And if I can get on my soap box for a moment - the only way we'll truly consign racism to the fringe (it will never completely go away) is to find it's expression to be equally unacceptable no matter the source. Until we do that this wound will remain unhealed.
