  1. First of all, awesome job. It requires lots of knowledge about both players and teams to put together reasonable mock draft, and yours is as good as it gets - both picks and reasoning. Couple of notes/questions: 1. You are on a record saying that guards (and to the lesser extent RTs) shouldn't be taken in the 1st round, not to mention top 10, unless they are expected to become regular all-pros. Do you think Skoronski is that good? 2. I've read somewhere that Keion White (unlike Anudike-Uzomah) was invited to the draft, and there are rumors that he is in fact Chiefs target. Don't you think this is the possibility? Or is he a worse fit for Chiefs in your eyes? 3. If it ended up this way, would you feel that the Chiefs outdrafted us (again)? Hyatt vs FA-U. 4. I disagree with you on this one. I know there is an (quite a strong) argument that the Bills picks usually correlate with who they are meeting with, but I do thing that McD and Beane realize (more than in the past) that they need to invest more in the OL and will be more than happy to draft OL high if value matches draft position. Unlike you, I fully expect them to try to draft OL in the first two rounds if they have a chance. But even of you don't think they do it, you say that you want them to. What does it specifically mean in this scenario? Does it mean that you would prefer drafting Harrison instead of Hyatt?
  2. Don't know where to post this and didn't see it elsewhere. Could be potentially interesting for the Bills:
  3. You mean like Trent McDuffie?
  4. Gunner, does this mean that you think Zavala if drafted could become day 1 starter? Also, to expand on this a little bit, could you please list all OL prospects who you would expect to be day 1 starters for the Bills (other than obvious top 3 OTs)?
  5. To speed things up, I take a liberty to already tag @Might Rather who picks after @Chaos. Going to bed in 4-5 hours (Europe), so I'd love to see TSW poll set up before that
  6. Exactly. All the time people wanted Beane to invest in the offense but it doesn't come without consequences. For me, if it means that we get much weaker at MLB so be it.
  7. I get what you are saying but I see it differently when it comes to Von. I actually don't want him to start the season. I hope he starts later, gets into the form by the end of the season and peaks in PO. Less (fewer?) games he plays lower the chance he gets injured. I want us for once to have a different season. Let's start with lot of question marks, with some losses to tough teams, and get it together when it matters. Von's injury could be blessing in disguise in this respect (I mean for the next season, it wasn't one for the last). I am perfectly fine with drafting edge if he is clearly a BPA though.
  8. Oh cmon man You start with calling something which is at best really an out-of-the-box idea (and I am not saying a bad one) an OBVIOUS solution using caps lock and then call rude someone who is joking about it? Cmon I get what you are saying, but if you (or Beane) can see there are 20 first rounds grades, so do other GMs. Why would anybody wanted to trade up?
  9. This should be definitely included in the poll @Virgil
  10. Nice list but if you really meant Broderick Jones he was already taken. If @Virgil wants 13 names I'd say WR Addison, Flowers, Hyatt, Downs TE Meyer, Washington OL Torrence, Harrison, D. Jones EDGE N. Smith LB Sanders, Campbell I'd throw there RB Gibbs just for fun Some of those will be taken though. So maybe add WR Rice, S Johnson or DL Breese
  11. I think that things are shaping out nicely for Jack Campbell
  12. Any idea what's their solution at QB if they get rid of Jones? Bailey Zappe? Or did I miss something?
  13. I agree that there are probably less guys "worth" picking in the first this year than usual, but I disagree with the bolded. If we take 27th best player with 27th pick it is not a reach, even if such player has 2nd round grade by normal standards. If the draft is worse than usual, it is what it is. Just pick the best guy available at each spot. Trade up if you can ***** much better guy, trade down if it is the best solution and there is a partner. But this is something what you should no matter how strong the draft is.
  14. Now this is encouraging, last time I checked the other thread about meeting with prospects it seemed that we are completely ignoring OL. I really hope we draft one in the first two rounds.
  15. So it really means that Rapp was also signed under $2M. Cool
  16. Love these Virgil, thanks for doing it. I won't participate on anything longer than one round but I enjoy any draft simulation. Btw, I am setting over/under for @GunnerBill saying that it is **** draft in Mock no. 1 at 2.5
  17. 1. Salary cap is a real thing and we have borrowed from the future quite a lot already (Beane knows this and was super conservative this offseason). 2. We overpaid for Von Miller, in a sense that he would've come cheaper (He is still great player though). 3. We might never win a SB even with Josh, since you also need a lots of luck a some franchises just don't have it (I already made a peace with it and try to enjoy every season nevertheless). These are some major ones from the top of my head. Many others were already mentioned. Edit: I'll add 4 somewhat related to 1 and 2: Diggs' and Miller's contracts are both one year too long and will cause us some cap trouble in two years (or even next year, if we don't win it all and Diggs won't take it well).
  18. Harris, Sherfield and Allen don't count for sure. We don't know about Edwards yet but I am pretty sure Beane knows what is in stake and made sure he won't count. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-picks
  19. Yes. And it looks more and more likely we get it, unless we sign a FA for over $2.5m. We signed 2 who qualify (McGovern, Harty) and let go 3 (Edmunds, Keenum, Singletary).
  20. Yeah something has to be wrong there, it sounds really weird.
  21. Nice summary, and I fully agree with the bolded. I think its worth adding that not all FAs count AFAIK, only those whose contract ended, not those who were cut. Or something like this. Yes, and this is a good source for this information: https://overthecap.com/compensatory-picks
