More victimless crimes from the choir... Not calling anyone out, I'm just sayin'
-
So DUI is a victimless crime now?

OK, how 'bout the next time you're out at the pub and you drive home. It's not that hard to blow a .08. That's a felony, but I'm SURE that noone here does anything like that ever, right? I'm sure that everyone I see in the parking lots at RWS waits until they are sober to operate their vehicles, right? Nobody here has ever tapped another car while parallel parking and left without leaving your information either, after all, you didn't obviously damage the car, you just tapped the bumper. Why bother with the hassle? I forgot that the board doubles as a meeting place for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir... It's easy to be holier than thou when you know that nobody you're talking to is going to do a background check on you isn't it...

Flyover Pictures of uncontacted tribe
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to Fewell733's topic in Off the Wall Archives
So, flying over them in a plane low and slow enough for them to notice doesn't count as contact? How cool would it be to a be a fly on the wall in like 100 years when the oral history turns that Cessna into Quetzalcoatl -

It's good to know that Annal spelled his words correctly orally. How much does it have to suck to be that kid. I'm picturing ben Stein calling roll. "Anal? Anal? Anal? Has anyone seen Anal today? -

If you were an alien who would you want to look at? The normal people or the whack jobs? Hell we have whole television series devoted to looking at crazy people. -
Pressure Building for punishment in new Pats* scandal

It keeps the consumer marginally happy. The sizes change in small increments but the price remains the same. It's harder to notice than the price jumping by 15%. You think sized have gotten small here. Go to Norway. 8oz of mayonnaise is $7.00 US. A 20oz Coke is $2.50. A large pizza is $32. Gasoline is about $12 a gallon. They don't use Euros either. They have a 25% VAT on everything. 35% is their LOWEST income tax bracket. But they have universal healthcare.... :gag: -
So he hit the net today? Good for him...only about a week late for a game that mattered.

No...MOST of them won't be voting at all. The ones who vote will vote for Obama. The question is, which ones are dumber? -

Development along waterfront

Yeah, they underbuilt the Seaway from day 1 and it's can't handle the big ocean vessels. Given our voracious appetite for LNG (liquified natural gas) it seems to me that if NYS improves the St. Lawrence Seaway and built a pipeline between Rochester and Buffalo Rochester could be the offload point for the LNG, it'd be piped to BFLO where it could be picked up by smaller, lake sized vessels and transported the rest of the way to Cleveland, Chiacago, et al. That way they'd only have to widen/deepen one part of the system rather than the Seaway, the Welland Canal, the locks in Detroit, etc. The huge ocean going LNG ships could steam straight to Rochester which could become the gas hub for upstate NY with the additonal spur to Buffalo to ship gas further inland. Companies are actively searching for additional sites to deliver LNG and most of the big cities don't want it because the ships could be big floating bombs if attacked. Smaller cities could jump on that oppotunity. Inland waterways can also be easier to control and defend than open ocean if so desired. -
Made a reservation on Smartcar today

I've had a Fit for the last year. I love it. I'm 6'3 and and am very comfortable inside. The seats are very versatile and can be configured in multiple different ways to use the space. It's also reasonably fun to drive, not quite a Mini but lots cheaper. City mpg leaves gets about 30 unless you paddle shift (I do, my wife doesn't). On the highway we got 42.5 mpg on a 5 hour haul down I-95 at a minimum of 75 mph -

I've got a harman karman receiver that I got hand-me-down from my grandfather when I was 13. I don't know the model number off hand but I do know that it still has vacuum tubes so I'm thinking it's from the late 60's to early 70's. Regardless, it bumps. -
All liquids are water based then? Liquid does not equal water. Anything can be a solid, liquid or gas given the right conditions. Mercury is a metal and is liquid at room temperature. Other metals have very low melting points such as sodium which melts at 98 degrees celsius (208 Fahrenheit) and potassium which melts at 63.35 (145 fahrenheit) as opposed to something like iron which melts at 1,535 degress celsius. Your body temp is roughly 37 degrees celsius, water boils at 100. Given that liquid water can't exist in a vacuum and appears to be exceedingly rare in the universe why would we expect otherworldy beings to be water based? There are many elements on the periodic table that dont like water at all and will when put into water. If if one of these being happened to be comprised largely of an alkali metal I would say that water would be an excellent weapon. Since, in the movie, the aliens were able to touch people without instantly scalding them they'd have to be based in something like potassium. Liquid lithiuim and sodium are too hot to touch and cesium and francium go boom (not fire, big boom) when wet. A potassium based being could have in internal body temp of 145. Their external temp would obvioulsy have to be lower since they did have a solid skin. Assuming 10 degrees (135 external) that creature could hold a person's bare skin for 15 seconds without burning them. Clothing would add to that time. Given that, you'd have to wonder why they'd choose a planet that is 2/3 covered by the stuff and has vaporized water in the atmosphere. Water vapor alone would be highly corrosive to them. But hey, if you've got the intergalactic munchies and are stuck this far out in the boonies of the universe you take what you can get. Given all of that, dude, it's a movie.

Agents only get whatever the client agrees to pay them, you don't have to have an agent at all. It's a business, some agent will be out there undercutting people if they go above industry "Standard" commissions.

Now if we can only get him to base his performance off Moss and Fitzgerald rather than his pay... That would be something...
