You are deferring the choice. Once you defer the choice the other team then gets to choose whether they want the ball or the wind in the 1st half. You get the choice in the 2nd half. It used to be that if you won the toss you had to choose int he first half and the other team automatically got the second half choice.
-
Correct, you could theoretically receive the first AND second half kickoffs if, when the other team chooses, they take the wind rather than the ball you could have both. At RWS it's not inconceivable to have wind that bad. IMO you;d want the wind in the 1st and 4th Q.

ESPN: Corey McIntyre in, Darian Barnes out at FB

coverage teams have been a little dicey. Darian gets his check, and if we win it all a ring. Thanks for stopping in we appreciate your efforts sir. -
Bills Prediction to be in Superbowl
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I vote for that. Think anyone else in the AFC will object? -
We killed Jax with screens. Especially on third down. This game reeked of a game where Turk was trying to get by without showing too much of his offense to keep it off tape for later in the year. We were exceedingly vanilla and we got away with it. It's smart if you can pull it off. Why show everyone the whole arsenal to beat an inferior team?

Bills Prediction to be in Superbowl
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taking it back to where it started...sort of given it's not in the Sombrero. But I'm feeling the sentiment. Super Bowl's on NBC too, think of how much Russert coverage there'd be. -
All he does is catch touchdowns. Funny thing about the record of our opponents being 4-11. If we hadn't beaten them it woud be 8-7. Talking about strength of schedule based on opponents record at this point is asinine. Hate any way you want, we beat two playoff teams and a 3rd team that took the Chargers to the mat. The Seahawks will be in the mix in the West, Jacksonville beat Indy in Indy (so how bad must Indy be if Jax is nobody) and will be in the mix in the South. Do the Rams stink? yeah. Are we discounting the Giants for playing 3 Qs of a close game with the Rams before blowing them out and hanging on at home to beat an 0-4 Bengals team? No we're praising them for toasting Washington at home at night because they <GASP> beat Dallas. Rule of thumb, just because a guy was good at playing football, doesn't mean he knows crap about football. See also Matt Millen. I wonder if CNBC had a financial analyst who was an admitted drug addict how much ppl would put faith in his analysis. Perhaps a bad analogy on a day where the Dow went down 777 points, but you get the idea.

Mort disses Stroud
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I have to say about Stroud's performance is that our rushing defense has improved by 30 yards per game thus far and we are allowing 93 YPG. Lest someone suggest that our "weak" schedule is the cause allow me to submit that the 3 teams we played are averaging 183, 166, and 122 yards per game respectively, two of those teams are in the top 5 in the league running the ball this year and the 3rd (an "injured" JAX team) ranked 2nd in the league last year running the ball and just ran for 236 yards against Indy only one week after we held them to 98. I will grant that our front 7 is benefitting from Poz and Mitchell but we all know that run defense starts up front and Stroud is the biggest difference there and the fact that Mort can find something negative to say about just about anything related to Buffalo is well documented at this point. -

Trent throwing Deep...........

Don Shula re: Dan Marino. "He doesn't bring the ball up and throw it with that long arm motion. It's 'boom' and the ball's gone with a tremendous whip of the shoulders." How was his deep ball? -
Trent throwing Deep...........
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to Buffan00's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Impossible. As we all know and are constantly reminded Trent has the arm strength of a 3 year old girl coming off Tommy John surgery. He and Losman must've switched numbers. [/sarcasm] -

I live in an area with a lot of migrant workers so the Mexican food here is top noch. Serioulsy, it's awesome and it's not something you'd expect from random SE PA. As for Mighty Taco. Mighty slays Taco Bell (ETS is better IMO). However, when it comes to actual Mexican food it's not even close but it's an unfair comparison. It's like saying that Hooters has good wings, they do compared to all the slop you can find, but when compared to authentic wings they suck hard. Real Mexican joints can be a little daunting because the Spanish is almost necessary. Good stuff though. Do yourself a favor and have a Coke while you're there. Most of the little joints I know get the Coke from Mexico (cringing for the jokes) rather than the stuff from the US. Mexican Coca-Cola is still made with cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup. HUGE difference. it's a travesty that we accept the crap they give us in comparison just so it's a little cheaper. Buffalo is still food heaven for me but I do well where I'm at. Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, great authentic Mexican, Amish baked goods, Chesapeake seafood and if you look around you can find a good Puerto Rican restaurant or two (like Spanish food moreso than Mexican). Not bad for a rural suburban county.

Could be. Mizzou's tough and UB's defense struggled with Temple for most of the day. Chase Daniel could put up Heisman stats in one day.

Is Murphy eligable for the Practice Squad?
Sen. John Blutarsky replied to webtoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not expecting a big line of suitors for a journeyman OT/TE with a known torn rotator cuff. My question is, is he a vested veteran and will he get paid for the whole year now since he was on the roster for week one. If so good for Ralphfor letting him stay on for one week knowing he'd be more expensive than a rookie for one week while waiting for peters. -

And Tutan Reyes and the guy that Tutan Reyes beat out for a job at guard, flanking the back-up center. Garrard may be killed tomorrow. I'm just sayin' It's nice that the foot is on the other hand... -

Any being that cannot manage it's own feces (save for a toddler) cannot come inside in my house, I assume you qualify for in house privileges. Gregg Williams has to wear a Depend at all times. He tends to soil himself on 3rd down. -

Houston(IKE) BILLS v Jags Game

I'd start by finding a bar that has power. This site has links to the outages on a big map. It looks like they update the map every couple of hours. At this point 88% of their customers are down. That's 1.9 million households. They've managed to get 200k back online so far. -edit= sorry, the original link was wrong, now fixed -

Sorry, everyone has the guys they despise and Peerless was one of mine and ina forum like this you can probably find someone who doesn't like just about every former Bill. With regards to being spent on that particular play, he was chasing DeWayne Washington on a 63 yard fumble recovery, was within 5 yards, and was gaining on him, in the first quarter of a home game in September. He stopped chasing at the 40. Could he defienlty have stopped him? No. Would he have been close before the goaline, definetly. It's like running out ground balls in baseball. You do it because it's what you're supposed to do. My current example is Jimmy Rollins. Jimmy Rollins is a bad ball player. He gets nice numbers and he's very talented but he's not on my team. He's had multiple problems this year with showing up late, not running plays out, making lazy errors, etc. Magically now that he feels like playing he's hitting .400 over the last 2 weeks. His BA will probably get over .290 and at the end of the year it will look like he had a good year. Don't be fooled. A dog is a dog is a dog and Peerless Price was a dog. He played once in his career...his contract year before they dealt him to ATL -
Ah see but you mis-read this. This policy would have teams who don't currently have a throwback jersey make one, and then of course sell it. Teams could have their 2 primary unis, then their alternate to wear in the 2 games of their own choice and THEN the throwback for AFL games. There'd be 4 legal jerseys instead of 3.

This is the third straight time I've gotten a horrible chest cold after flying out of BWI to Buffalo and back. These are the only 3 chest colds I've ever had. I typically get head/sinus issues. Whoever keeps getting on that plane with yer darned SARS stay home next time please.

Can I tell you how much I love that we can pick out spots for our n00bs rather than having to throw them into the fire. It's the way it's supposed to work. Come in, learn, earn your stripes, then play. It's a testement to the solid team depth we've been able to build. Last year's injuries were rough but it will pay off this year. For lack of a better analogy, our seniors are back but all the underclassmen have game experience too.
