  1. Deion has always annoyed me but damn he was a good player
  2. I'd recommend this video for anyone who hasn't seen it - Simms talking about who he thinks will be the best sophomore QBs. His thoughts are very interesting. I also like that he has his dad on the show and just keeps referring to him as 'dad'. I mean. he must have had a few comments about only being in the media because his name is Simms, so I like that he doesn't try to distance himself from Phil and is happy to share a mic with him. He's one of my favourite analysts out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ0zzQVpK3o
  3. Yeah, he's such a nice guy I actually feel bad when I throw the radio out the window.
  4. I heard Tasker talk about this yesterday. He really is a great guy, was completely honest and talked about his time there quite openly. I've said it before but considering the guy is a wall of famer and is always in discussions for HOF consideration, considered widely to be the GREATEST special teamer of all time, he has zero arrogance about him. If you didn't know he was a former player you wouldn't even guess. He's just a really, really nice guy. But man he is painful to listen to for more than five minutes. Maybe give him a segment on Fridays before the games so he can give his thoughts. Actually he'd probably only be able to articulate one thought in five minutes. I can imagine him ordering food in a restaurant: Waiter: what can I get you Mr Tasker Tasker: Good question, I erm, I guess I, well, lets take a look at the erm, the... the er... Murphy (busy eating his fifth steak and eggs): the menu Tasker: yeah, the menu. Hmmm. I guess there's a lot here, so I'll just go for the erm. you know. The way I'm feeling right now, with it being morning, which is different to evening. So with that in mind I'll probably just have lunch... Murphy: Breakfast Tasker: Right. Breakfast. I think the best thing, when you look at it from top to bottom would be, what are those things, those things that are round they put them in a stack. You know, we always pour over that stuff that comes from trees? Murphy: Pancakes? Tasker: Ya, that's it. I'll take the pancakes Waiter: I'm afraid Mr Murphy has eaten all the pancakes.
  5. Cool, can he replace Tasker as well. I love Steve as a person but listening to him on OBL is like having a cat clawing at your ear.
  6. Beane probably foresees some big stats for Hughes this year with Oliver in the middle (hopefully) wreaking havoc. Not to mention if we're playing with the lead more he'll get to tee off on opposing QBs. Better to extend him now before his stats potentially go through the roof.
  7. I didn't know her, and I didn't know Pancho either. The only thing I know about them is that they were passionate Bills fans. The thing that always gets me about things like this is the fact that they'll never get to see the Bills play again. That's the one thing we all have in common, the one thing we're all passionate about, and the only reason we've heard of these people. They both have family and friends who will have a big hole in their lives now, which is awful, but because I don't know any of those details the thing I really feel bad about is that they won't have that excitement in week 1, waiting for the game to start. They won't get to share the celebration when we get to the playoffs again. When we finally win a Super Bowl. It's thoughts like that that really make you hope there is an afterlife so these people can get together and continue watching the team they love.
  8. I'm still more interested in Allen than anyone else. As he said in a recent presser, this is still all new ground to him. This time last season he was the fresh fish who had guys taking snaps ahead of him. This year it's his team 100%. As this offseason process goes on I'm keen to see how he takes control of the offense and how he does being first in the pecking order.
  9. "NFLN Draft Analyst job has become a breeding ground for front-office jobs." What, one person? Potentially two? There are communities of giant pandas with busier breeding grounds than that
  10. I look forward to his Football Life episode
  11. Typical, I was all excited about signing our draft picks and then I get this devastating news
  12. I'd rather retire "it was a bold move" as so often used by John Murphy whenever the Bills make a head scratching decision.
  13. Blitz them in the first half, build a lead, then run heavy in the second to break their spirit.
  14. Every time I read this thread title I just think of Tyrion requesting a trial by combat.
  15. Cowherd loved Rosen before the draft, claimed he'd be the best of the bunch. I don't mind Rosen myself but this is a classic case of a media guy hanging onto the guy he rated before the draft
  16. I'm always defending Kiper. It's not that I like him so much, more that what he does is very hard to get right even 50% of the time. People say "let's see him be a GM". But how many GMs get it right? Even good GMs end up cutting a huge amount of their draft picks over time. All I really pay attention to with Kiper is when he's reeling off all the stats and facts about a college player, because he's like an encyclopedia of that stuff. Whether he thinks a guy will succeed or not I don't really pay attention to.
  17. The more of this stuff you read and listen to the more it confirms that these guys are just tossing ***** at a target and hoping something sticks. You really have to just enjoy it for what it is but always remember that just because they're being paid to churn this stuff out, it doesn't mean they really know what they're talking about. I was recently watching some Colin Cowherd youtube stuff regarding Josh Allen. It's HILARIOUS to watch now (seriously, go and look). In one (pre-draft) he says the Browns are idiots because they will draft Allen number 1, then says the Giants are smart and will take Darnold (guarantees it). This is especially funny after the pick the Giants made last week. In another video he says Rosen is the absolute best pick in that draft and will be a revelation for Arizona (again, really funny now they traded him for a 2nd). Then there's a great one where he's part a discussion answering the question "is it crazy to compare Allen to Newton?" This is before Allen had played a game in the NFL, Cowherd starts laughing and saying he's not close to being the athlete Newton is. Then another tool on the panel says Allen isn't even as athletic as Big Ben. My point is, it's good to have so many experts around now, because you get twice the enjoyment: the first time round you read or listen and react however you react, then the second time round you get to laugh at a guy like Cowherd for being so completely wrong.
  18. With Hughes at the end of his contract and Alexander on the verge of retirement, plus all the one year deals we have, there's a potential ***** load of holes we'd have to fill in FA or the draft. I'd like to pick up his option and re-sign Hughes ASAP so we can go after the final missing pieces next year rather than filling fresh holes
  19. Oh, and I have to say I really like the segments with Coach Sal. Never used to like him back when he posted on forums and stuff and it took me a while to warm to him but he's actually very knowledgeable and doesn't constantly kiss the collective team's ass like Murphy and Chris Brown etc.
  20. I don't mind the WGR guys really. They're idiots but they seem pretty passionate. Bulldog was saying he was so nervous we were going to trade up in the first round that he went to a bar on his own rather than a party he'd been invited to. There are plenty of places to listen to more level headed takes, like the Bills locked on podcast. Then you have the homer stuff on One Bills Live. I like the other guys on WGR because they at least say when they think something is a mistake or that the team is bad. They're jerks but they seem wrong most of the time so I don't care if they predict doom and gloom. The thing that does annoy me is when they're unnecessarily rude to callers. Quite often someone will call in and give a reasonable opinion and they'll shut them down and then hang up. They spend all that time urging callers to phone in and get involved, only to take a ***** on them when they do. I quite like Nate Geary.
  21. Wow, looking at last year's O-line gives me the runs
  22. To quote the coach in Major League: "that's good. I like to see that kind of spirit in a player."
  23. I just want to get to camp but a long wait is now ahead of us. Time to do the summer stuff (apparently I have a wife and kids!), let the dust settle and then get to work on those 10 or 11 wins I genuinely think this team can achieve. I think that myth has been perpetuated with Bills fans thanks to Moulds
