Time Warner pulls plug on Empire in Capital Region
30dive replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I pulled the plug on Empire through my DTV a couple days after Simon left. This thread is somewhat ironic, as just last night I dialed up ch. 626 on my TV just to see what was on....Very sad, a couple 1/2 hour locally produced programs, otherwise filler. -
Tyrone Willingham will not be retained
30dive replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
uhh. No... I am sure that Davie got his full five years as did Faust. I will however, concede, it's the times as well as the timing. This is the season when quality coaches leave the program they built at smaller schools to get that top flight school. Sad, very sad....there ought to be rule.....I'm all for moving up but someone needs to say I'm happy to take that job but I'm gonna coach my kids in the game we all worked so hard to get to, that auguably got me this new gig. I'll be in my new office the morning after I coach my last game at teh old school. -

The sad part of this is he inherited crap. He has worked his backside off to bring in his type football player and will never see the fruits of his labor. First time in ND history that thet the school has not let a coaches contract paly out. My bet is Butch Davis is named Wednesday, timing is everything. -
OT - How did you all think of your names?
30dive replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After many years coaching HS football, my favorite play (many different names) is still 30 dive. The three (3)back (fullback) through the zero (0) hole (guard/center gap or off the centers right hip). Just power football. -
Miami is still (IMO) Buffalo's greatest rival.........This is for many reasons, history and location included, Miami sun vs. Buffalo snow, Blue collar vs. no collar, and on and on. However getting excited about the Miami game this year; the Miami game in Miami, well I see not talking about it as falling into that catagory of "I am not going to dignify that question with an answer". Our Bills are pulling themselves out of the muck, while the Dolphins find themselves....how shall I put this.....umm...swimming with the fishes.

OK our neighborhood is going a bit kid crazy, and we finally got it! Egged.......Are there any special (or required) ways to clean an egged car?

Ownership - I really think this guy wants to win it all before he's gone. Managment - TD has brought us out of cap room hell, we have all jumped all over our living rooms when he brought in the likes of Spikes and Drew. We cursed him with that wasted draft pick on Willis and today, once again, that gamble looked pretty good. He has hired two rookie coaches, the verdict is out on the second. TD gets at least another year. Coaching - MM is starting to get it, he can make some questionable game managment calls, but I'm sure our next games coaches are staying up a few more hours than they had planned to get ready for this coach and his bag of tricks ...A work in progress, I think I like him. QB - JP is the future and DB can be the tutor. DB will finsih the season and JP (God willing) will emerge during next pre-season as the Bills QB O-Line - Young and improving each week, what we were hoping for in week one. RB's - Hopefully we can get a nice 3rd rounder for a healthy Travis Henry. WR - Eric Moulds is still the only top notch quality we have. Evans shows very nice promise but he's not the bank...yet. TE - I think we have a stable of promising young players at this position. D-Line - When not sucking wind, very tough to beat LB's - Posey has been quieter than I would like, London's pace for stupid penalties has slowed down a bit and his leadership is worth every penny they pay him. Spikes is well, Takeo, a warrior. DB's - quality veteran leadership, nice young prospects, especially those young un-drafted rookies from Tennessee. Has Coy Wire signed a modeling deal? He's gone. Special Teams - Might be the best in the league...Marv Levy must be very happy. All in all the future is bright, yes with JP at QB, TD still as GM and MM as Head coach....it's all chemistry....and the Bills need more time over the bunson burner. Edited and held for day after game.

Dee Ray....A - Freekin - Men! I will state right up front that some marriages need to end. That said, isn't it funny that people will spend huge volumes of money and time repairing their finances, with counselers and such but when it comes to marriage, people go straight to the lawyer. Sad very sad.

Is enyone else Jones-ing for the Simoncast!
30dive replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe empire could Simoncast his morning radio show and we could all (out of towners) Tevo it for later viewing. It just amazes me that a town with two major sports teams has absolutly no coverage of those local teams......I know two half hour shows each night, but this is not worth my keeping the Regional Sports Package on DTV. This station doesn't even do a post game show for the Bills, nor does it do a Sunday night half hour sports show. So we don't see any post game Bills coverage on Empire until (what) 6:30 pm Monday! Hell, by that time us TBDers are already onto next Sundays game. I'm sorry this issue just pi$$es me off. I'll get off my soapbox and get another cup of coffee. -
I'm guessing he'll know exactly who you are a fan of........hmmmm...come to think of it........he might think it's a Rams fan. I better add a note.

I laughed so hard.......I just had to do the same. Thank you!

Why don't we ever place any of the blame on......
30dive replied to crackur's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to think, MM was proving a point to all of us, as bad as Drew played in Foxboro, JP just aint ready...Might he have been ready had he not broken his leg, God only knows, but three months out of practice...... -

30dive replied to crackur's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK OK we get it, you don't like Drew. I for one am no big fan either, but for christ sake JP is NOT ready. He has been out for what nearly three months. Not out of games but out of practice, out of contact, he's been out, PERIOD. -
I'm happy, I'm happy....really I am......But does anyone else out there feel like vomiting (like I do) everytime our D faces a 3rd and lets say 12 or 17 or 36? It seems to me that we give up alot of first downs when facing these situations.

Aw that would really suck if this team went 9-7! I mean I really thought we'd be going to the Superbowl this season. Sarcasm off.

How many of you think it would be cool...

Who did RW interview besides TD for the GM Job?
30dive replied to ICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh Crap......We were all drooling over TD, and then remember that April day when the "ol poker player" pulled the switch and DB was welcomed to Buffalo like a rock star. I for one do agree that after this season RW needs to take a serious look at the guy who is running his business, but someone please tell me who is out there? Oh I am sure we can talk about all those great GM's presently running solid teams in those nice warm weather locals, but Buffalo is a tough sell, please don't tell me anyone but TD........The next person needs to be top flight, needs to put a winner in Buffalo in 2005. Tough job, tough sell. -
Outstanding...Thank God for little girls.

Auburn Tigers Could Beat The Bills
30dive replied to Yankeedawg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uh....No. -
The question is, with seven games left can we win five? If we play the way we played against the Jets, maybe. If we play like last night we are in trouble. I'd check off Seattle (@) and Pittsburgh as losses. And Miami the only game I'd check off as a win. @ SF, Cinci, Clev, St. Louis could all go either way. As I said after the Balto game, the feeling of great expectations begins now, great expectations for 2005.
