  1. You remove Allen's rushing yards things don't look so bright remains my point. Most of his yards come from his decision to scramble after the pocket collapses. Please don't lose that perspective. Take this most recent game, for example. Josh rushed for 45; Gore for 34 and Singletary for 19. For the season, the Bills are averaging 130/game. Josh is responsible for 34 of that. The Bill's are under 100yds per game from our RBs Not good. And that's on the O line.
  2. If an O lineman gets beat the play is over as far a they're concerned. They don't reengage with another defender. Find another defender and put your body on 'em.
  3. I agree with you. You can see the progress and continued potential on this team; a whole different culture. That said, I'm concerned about the slippage on the defense. For the Bills to make the playoffs this year, which quite frankly is my expectation (nothing more), the defense has to step it back up.
  4. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27966951/baker-mayfield-gets-testy-exchange-reporter When I get frustrated about some of the fans and others associated with the Bills, it's therapeutic to go find some stuff on the Browns. I feel much better now
  5. I tend to be kind to Josh, not because he's young, but because the guys around him on that side of the ball need to improve in so many ways. I can't blame all of the offensive woes on one guy.
  6. Most offenses have at least one turnover per game. That's part of the game. The problem Sunday is that the defense couldn't get themselves off the field, mostly because they couldn't stop the run. That's rough, time consuming and wears a defense down. The defensive hasn't played great for two games in a row now. Their weaknesses have been exposed and it will cost us going forward.
  7. On track with my expectations, given all of the new personnel, and a young QB.
  8. Anyone who thought it wouldn't take at least a half this season to get this offense gelling was fooling themselves. Personally, I think the offense is on track and is only getting better as the season progresses.
  9. Why haven't they come out rip roaring every game? I gotta think they tried as hard as they could to win the last two games, right? I guess desperation by the Eagles could result in a win for them Sunday. Personally, I think desperation normally leads to more mistakes.
  10. They might end up being right about Josh, who knows. Josh and the Bills are heading northeast on the graph as far as I'm concerned. And he's ahead of my expectations.
  11. While I get what you're saying about a complete game, I don't think I have ever experienced a complete game by any team I follow. In my opinion, what you are talking about is a game where we can feel both the offense and the defense had good games. That's subjective and each of us will have a different opinion of that. How do you measure that? What's the bar for how many penalties, for example? I don't think none is reasonable. Does Josh have to have a deep ball reception to have a complete game? No dropped passes? Does the offense have to have zero TOs to have a complete game? Does the defense have to hold the Eagles to __ points to have a complete game? I'm of the opinion that no matter the game Josh has, there will be the handful of posters here that will feel he game wasn't complete. To answer your question, I think the Bills will play good enough to win the game.
  12. If you're moving the ball with the running and short passing game, the deep ball needs to be tossed a couple three times a game to keep the defense honest. My expectation is that the offense moves the chains, not so much how they do it.
  13. Every team sends the kitchen sink at young QBs. Allen has seen this all year to date. It certainly won't be anything new for Allen. Josh is under center quite a bit and when he's in shotgun, I think we need a RB back there with him. Even in an empty backfield, Josh can run the ball, unlike many QBs, and it'll be big yards if he gets passed that blitz. I'm not so much worried about a kitchen sink blitz. It's a risk for any team vs Josh and the Bills. It can burn them as easily as it helps them.
  14. Reading other fan's boards makes me feel better about this and other boards I follow. Puts so much in perspective.
  15. This made me go check again and it's down to 1.5 now. I have never seen swings like this. The swings would require very significant dollars being bet on both sides.
