Fox Sports Digs Even Deeper Into Spygate*
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This and other articles talk about how badly this scandal impacts the game and yet they talk about Bellicheat possibly getting a one year suspension if the news proves true. Sorry, but the cheating bastard deserves a lot worse than that. If he cheated his way to a SB victory, nothing less than a lifetime ban would be sufficient. -

Maybe if you had actually read the bill, you would notice that the bi-partisan legislation was authored by Obama AND Tom Coburn (R-OK). Here is the interesting part: In other words, FEMA can give a no-bid contract to fish you out of the cesspool and get you to safety, but will require open-bidding to house your ass for the next year, instead of just putting you up at the Marriott for a year at the rack-rate.

Who will be McCain's running mate
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I have a hard time seeing the GOP rallying around Crist since there is a 99% chance that he is gay. I'm sure that the Dems would like it as it might keep the "Born Again" voters home on election day. -
Who will be McCain's running mate
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
With McCain's age, his VP has a 50-50 chance of stepping in during his term. So no Dan Quayles or Fundamental Christians need apply. That leaves out the Huckster. I think that Romney would be a pretty solid choice. -

Well it Figures. Sabres on NBC Today
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to The Dean's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This was the only High Def Sabres game of the year for those with Time Warner Cable. Hockey in HD is awesome. When are we going to get MSG in HD? Other parts of the country get Versus in HD too, but not on TW. Sucks! -
There are lots of A-hole lawyers out there. You need to talk to a couple more until you find one that you are comfortable with. One problem with being in an accident with a young kid is that he might only have the minimum liability insurance and may not have any assets to go after in a lawsuit. Once that $20,000 or so of liability insurance is exhausted, you can go after your own insurance if you have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Good luck with it!

My son just got a Vetta II Combo and has a Spider II combo and the Spider II HD/Cabinet. The Vetta makes the Spider sound like a toy amp. It is just awesome sounding. He was also having some problems with some of the amp models on the Vetta when playing at a high volume, but he found that the Loudness feature was turned on by default. It makes the amp sound fuller at low volumes, but it really screws up when you crank the volume. You might want to check that this on your amp. Turning it off fixed it.

Well, I think that they should have been fired. Why was Lam wasting her time going after Duke Cunningham, a loyal Republican? Just because he was taking bribes? I thought that was part of the job description. Obviously, she didn't have her priorities straight and should have been fired! If they didn't get rid of her, Jerry Lewis was going to get dragged into this mess too, another loyal Republican. Also, how come Inglesias was not bringing charges against a Democrat in the weeks before the election even though he was asked to do it by Republican Rep. Wilson and Sen. Domenici? Didn't he realize that Wilson was in a tight race for her seat and could have used some indictments against Democrats to help push her over the edge? What is wrong with this guy? These people are Republicans and were put in office by a Republican president. Their first priority should be to leave Republicans alone and only go after Democrats especially if that is what the Bush Administration wanted. They do serve at the pleasure of the President and should be beholden to him. I don't understand what the big deal is!

I agree totally. What they did is not illegal, but firing them for not being partisan enough seems unethical. An administration gets to appoint partisan DA's, but once appointed they should be expected to be independent in bringing cases. Makes you wonder about the rest of the DA's that were deemed "acceptable" and kept their jobs.

Libby found guilty...
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to jimshiz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Here are the four counts he was convicted of: * obstruction of justice when he intentionally deceived a grand jury investigating the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame; * making a false statement by intentionally lying to FBI agents about a conversation with NBC newsman Tim Russert; * perjury when he lied in court about his conversation with Russert; * a second count of perjury when he lied in court about conversations with other reporters. Actually compared to others in this administration, he's not that bad. He only lied 4 times. -
double standard in main stream media?

The difference between the 2 is that Maher is a comedian, and Coulter is a conservative political commentator. -
The Official 2007 American Idol Thread
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to Rico's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think that last night was actually "Gay Idol". Almost all 12 looked gay and sang gay songs. Then Ryan and Simon were tossing gay remarks at each other. Not that there's anything wrong with that. -

Pelosi's abuse of power continues.
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That sums it up exactly. I'm sure that Hastert didn't decide to start using an AF plane on his own. The Bush Admin probably ok'd it in the wake of 9/11. Too bad that Hastert didn't decide he felt safe enough to fly commercial prior to losing the Speaker job. That could have ended the perk there and this would be a non-issue. It's sort of hard for the Bush Admin to stop the perk now that a Dem is in the position without it looking like a political decision. The best alternative for the country is for Pelosi to give up the perk and fly commercial. I just wouldn't bet on that happening. -

Live&DieBillsFootball replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No, she wants a plane that can fly from DC to Calif without stopping to refuel. Seems like a reasonable request. -

Live&DieBillsFootball replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That's the part that is bogus. She has not made any of these requests. She asked for alternatives to the plane that cannot fly non-stop to Calif. and from there the Republicans have created a story. The plane that you describe was brought up by Roy Blunt not Pelosi. All her staff said is that the C-20 that Hastert used is not feasible due to its lack of range. From there the Republicans have run with it. -
Pelosi's abuse of power continues.
Live&DieBillsFootball replied to erynthered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just a few facts: The Speaker of the House is 2nd in succession to the President, after the VP. After 9/11, Hastert as Speaker was given the use of a C-20 Aircraft to fly to his home district in Illinois. The C-20 does not have the range to make it to California without refueling. As a result, her staff inquired about alternative aircraft that are capable of flying the 2800 mi from DC to Calif. Seems like a reasonable request. What has happened is that Republicans have jumped on it and created a bogus story. According to ABC News, House Minority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo., seems to be the one who first publicly raised the notion that the plane Pelosi requested is the C-32, which has a stateroom on board. Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam of Florida started telling reporters that "she wants a jumbo Jet."
