What wonders did McCarthy work with Rodgers?  The myth that he magically developed while sitting on the bench behind a HOF QB?

There were a lot of rumors that Rodgers has kind of went rogue the last couple years. He is a great QB, an all time great, but if true, he caused a lot of the problems on offense too.

I wouldn't love the hire of McCarthy if true, but he was a good coach for years. I don't fault him entirely for the defenses he fielded because he didn't draft the players. Notice that the GM was fired last year and they haven't been as good because of the roster.  Dorsey is known as a great talent evaluator,  so the talent should be there.

I wanted Mayfield too but Josh will be the better of the two because of his physical abilities and intelligence.

Is Baker not intelligent? He's been audibling and changing plays for weeks now, and actually re-huddled the team a few weeks ago after seeing the defense and essentially drew up a play in huddle that scored a TD.

Allen is definitely more physically gifted, and has impressed me a lot this year, but don't act like he is definitely more football intelligent.

Allen looked great yesterday,  but that was the 1st game that I thought he looked like a good/great passer. So much of his success before that was based off of running, which never lasts for any QB.

Mayfield played 4 years in college.  Had best players around him his rookie season.  Very solid offensive line, almost 1000 yard rusher, excellent WR, TE and RB's.  I see him being a pretty consistent 64% completion %, 25 TD, 10 INT guy with limited yards running.  Very solid, 10 to 12 year starter.  Few Pro Bowl games and nice career.

Think Allen and Darnold could put up crazy Aaron Rogers stats based on potential.

Who are the "excellent" WRs? Landry is good for sure. Higgins is average. Callaway is hit or miss, but has potential. Perriman played well in spurts.  Yet Mayfield set the rookie TD record playing 13.5 games. Manning and Wilson who held the record played all 16. On a team that went 1-31 the last 2 years.

Not that I know anything about anything, but this hire would blow my mind if it happened

I actually think it would be a great hire. Fitzgerald is young and has turned Northwestern from a basement dweller to a pretty decent program. They still have down years here and there, but the academic restrictions and history make it a tough sell for recruits.

He is a good player but a world class jerk on the field. He also seems very much like a ‘me’ guy. I could be totally wrong and have no clue what he is like in real life.

Watch his "Mic'ed Up" thing from the Atlanta game, especially the Chubb long TD run and tell me he's a "me" guy. He can be a jerk to opposing teams, but his teammates love him.

200lbs Jarvis Landry was all over 285lbs Carlos Dunlap after a questionable hit on Mayfield last week too.

Sad to say because of the teams in the middle of the Top 10 in the NFL Draft, coupled with the fact the commish won't make it easy for Buffalo to move ahead of some teams in the draft, have to root for a L.

You do realize there is a set formula for draft order and the commissioner has no say in it, right?

DeCastro and Nelson. Two guards taken in top 10. Don't tell the masses on here but it is perfectly fine to take an interior lineman in the top 10. The only downside is having to purchase playoff tickets.

DeCastro was taken 26th, and wasn't great for the 1st couple years. He is now, so good pick overall,  but nowhere near Nelson when comparing rookie seasons.

Didn't know about (d).  Tomlin could have slow rolled his subs and given the Cheats a DOG.  Now that would have been hilarious.

No. The refs give them a REASONABLE amount of time to sub. If the defense takes too long, they'll let them snap the ball without the defense being fully subbed.

Technically if they don’t make an attempt to substitute then your right. But with like 10 secs left on the play clock, it was obvious the Cheatriots were either attempting to catch them off or make them use a late time out.

The refs can delay for the Steelers to substitute even past the play clock, causing New England to get delay of game or waste a TO. The Steelers didn't try to substitute,  so it didn't matter.

OK, so maybe it wasn't illegal, per se.  It's certainly cheating, and against the spirit of the rules.  I agree with DC Tom, the officials should have allowed the Squeelers to substitute, but they're the stupidest people on the field, so good luck with that.  I can see a situation where the Squeelers try to substitute, and in the confusion, the Cheats run a fake, get the 1st down, and the refs just say "Tough titty".

If it isn't illegal, it isn't cheating.  The Steelers didn't try to substitute.  If they had,  they would have prevented the Patriots from snapping the ball until they substituted.

Not everything new that happens is cheating.

Yeah, a weird situation for them. I think they fired Hue early so they could line up the full-time replacement before the season even ends (Riley from Oklahoma?). Now Gregg is messing up the plan!

I've heard Riley isn't being considered at all. Arians possibly, and he would keep Kitchens. After that, Dorsey is as tight lipped as they come. Very few had any clue of Mayfield and Ward being the picks before they happened.

Did anyone catch the post game? Baker thanked Drew Stanton in his development, helping him read defenses and go through progressions. I thought it was weird that he was thanking the 3rd string guy & not Tyrod. Then i remembered how Tyrod couldn't go through progressions or read defenses, so happy we get to see Allen play instead of Tyrod

That, and Stanton was hired as essentially a personal QB coach for Baker.

I think Gregg deserves a shot next year. He has at least got the best out of that team. He still seems the total dbag he was here years ago. I love his new hipster glasses BTW! When he made that time out call just as the Broncos were going offside. I could not help but reminded of all the humiliating gaffes he had here and all his blowhard bravado about the 2001 Bills "can win the SB"!

I want to keep Gregg more or less simply to keep Kitchens. Obviously he and Baker are great together.  From 3-36-1 Hue to 4-2 Gregg.

If you think we're talking a lot about Josh Allen in this thread, wait till you hear how much Broncos fans will be talking about him tomorrow.  You know those threads on how we were idiots to pass on Mahomes? Broncos fans have 'em about being idiots for passing on Allen.

Chubb has 12 sacks. I doubt they regret him.

He has been pretty good no doubt.....he is not being good tonight but Denver's defense is legit.

I dont expect Allen to be as good a Mayfield this year anyway.......doesnt have the supporting cast and Mayfield is more polished

Yeah, he is struggling pretty bad tonight. Hopefully he has a good 2nd half.

He had a 3 INT 1st half against Houston, then threw for 350+ in the 2nd half.
