Cole Payton - QB - North Dakota State
I'm guessing he goes in the 4th or 5th, but he's a dual threat developmental prospect worth taking a chance on of you can let him sit for a season, probably 2.

L-O-L-Z. They cant cut Gabriel bc he was drafted too high. Same with Shedeur but worse. It wont be this year, but when the ride ends their is going to be some fear of the backlash when they cut him.... its just whats going to happen.
Incredibly f'n stupid. If the NFL opened up 5 years draft picks, they'd be a farm team that couldn't beat a BIG10 team within 3 years. The fans dont deserve it but the owner certainly does. Although I will commend them for the idea of taking 2 QB's.... keep pulling the trigger until you hit, but 2 mid rd'ers was idiocy of the highest degree.
You take one high, and then take a flyer. Watch them take that athletic QB Taylen Green from Arkansas
Gabriel was a 3rd round pick. Late 3rd at that. He could very easily be cut. Not saying he will be.
Sanders won't be cut this year. If he ends up starting, he won't be cut anytime soon. I think worst case he is a backup for a few years.
Taylen Green will get drafted late but I think as a project WR or gadget player.

I'm pretty sure Dylan Gabriel has the exact same stats if not better stats than Sanders
They both were bad and Sanders does not have any sort of high ceiling
he has career backup all over him and he better not bring a lot of press attention or that won't even happen
Gabriel had "better" stats, but if you watched any of the games, he has zero upside at all. He won't throw the ball down field at all. He holds the all forever, afraid to pull the trigger. Sanders is not likely to be a franchise QB, but he does have a small chance. He has a good deep ball. He is willing to takes shots. But he also holds the ball too long, but that's fairly common for rookie QBs.

So an average DT and RB and a role player. Most meh trade I've seen in a while
Graham wasn't an average DT. He ranked pretty high overall even as a rookie. Judkins was very good as well. Sampson is a 3rd down back. He ran ok, but did very well catching the ball.
2 hours ago, Captain Hindsight said:The Browns draft was a disaster. Taking two QB 50 picks from each other (first time in history) was stupid for a few reasons. Neither was very good last year, the coach was already a lame duck so what guarantee was that the new coach would want these Qbs? Both could conceivably be cut in TC. True waste of two fairly high picks. The Browns had no business taking any QB last year. Everybody knew Stefanski was going to get fired, ride the year out with Flacco and Kenny Pickett and hope for the best. They had 7 QBs on the salary cap last year, all of them sucked. Horrible roster management
Browns gonna Brown
So the draft was a disaster because of the QB picks alone? Gabriel was a terrible pick in the 3rd round for sure. He's just too physically limited, and he is WAY too conservative with the ball. Sanders in the 5th is a good risk/reward for a team that needs a QB. He wasn't good overall, but he showed flashes of good play with bad O-Line and very limited WRs.
Graham, Schweswinger. Judkins, Fannin, and Sampson all played and all played fairly well, to very good. The QBs were the only "mediocre" picks.

I had Duke and Michigan in the championship game, with Duke winning it all. I was close 🤷. Ps, they need to put some limitations on the whole transfer portal thing. I saw on Twitter every one of Michigan's starters were transfers 🙄
And they still weren't in the top 10 in basketball NIL. One of UConn's transfers was from Michigan 2 years ago. It's just the way the world works now. Players have the same freedom as coaches finally.

Nah, not at all. Modell should have been perfectly allowed to move his team.
Cleveland was a disaster of a city from like 80-2010.
Cleveland sold out every single game. Modell moved solely because the Cavs and Indians got stadiums before he did. Simple as that. It had nothing to do with the city itself. Modell was just a petty POS.

They can't choose to hold his rights and not pay him.
He has to fulfill the contract to get paid. He is choosing to sit out. If he decides to return to work, then yes, they would have to pay him. Right now it is Schwartz that isn't holding up his end of the contract. He doesn't get paid if it is his decision to sit out.

Wrong. The Browns have to pay him if they're retaining his rights.
No, they don't. He is choosing not to coach, he wasn't fired. Now next year, if he decides to come back as an active coach, they would have to pay him or release him. But he can't choose not to coach and still get paid.

The Browns are *****in' idiots. You pass over the guy, yet you expect him to stay and work for the guy for which he was passed over? And while you let other assistants out of their contracts, you hang on to Schwartz's? Dick move by the Browns.
He will still get paid, as the Browns are retaining his rights and not releasing him from his contract, like they did for every other assistant coach on the staff except for Schwartz.
If he doesn't coach, he doesn't get paid. If he chooses next year to coach, then he would be entitled to his contract.

Get Schwartz and make him assistant HC. Easy choice.
That's not a promotion in the sense of getting him out of his contract. But I doubt they try to force him to stay.

I'd rather have Daboll than Brady. But I'm not sure.
Josh needs to have his ass kicked, and the Bills need someone tough but close to our system for D. Something 4-3 based...Tampa type scheme but more aggressive.
Jim Schwartz as DC sticks out...my guess is he will go with Stefanski though. They are saying he may even get Browns HC gig.
if Beane is staying....we need someone who can work with him. Is this Daboll?
The Browns were also telling HC candidates that they would like to keep Schwartz as DC as well, if he doesn't get the HC gig.

He melted in college if you got consistent pressure. All the ability in the world, but he doesn't have the mental toughness.

Let’s do this 3 ways. Pick the guy you want, the guy that you think, the guy that you don’t want.
Want: Curt Cignetti
Think: Klint Kubiak (would be happy)
Don’t want: Mike McCarthy
Cignetti already said he's not leaving college ball. Obviously a LOT of money may change that, but he seems to be a college lifer.

He was face guarding too, he waved his hand back n forth with his back to the ball. A clear and obvious case of interference.
Face guarding on its own isn't a penalty.

Holding doesn’t require the ball to be anyway. The ball could be chucked into orbit and it’s still called.
If the ball is in the air, it's interference, not holding. If the pass in uncatchable, then interference is subjective.
-
51 minutes ago, Einstein said:
In the NFL, pass interference can technically be called on an "uncatchable" pass, as the rule book doesn't strictly define "catchable," making it a subjective judgment call for officials; however, officials often don't call PI if the ball is clearly uncatchable by either player.
The pass on the right landed well out of bounds.

I gotta find the play bigger than twitter size haha but it looked pretty catchable to me
It almost hit the outside line of the white stripe surrounding the endzone.
Just now, SoCal Deek said:Now what? There was NO signal for it being uncatchable. Where do people come up with this stuff? It was simply a missed, or overlooked, penalty.
The pass landed well out of bounds. I watched it live, I honestly have no idea if they signaled uncatchable or not. But it was several yards outside the right of the end zone.

50 minutes ago, SoCal Deek said:
That doesn’t negate the interference or even illegal contact. They often call that when the ball is thrown to the opposite side of the field.
It does negate interference. You can't interfere with an uncatchable ball, though what is uncatchable is also essentially a judgement call.
Like holding, illegal contact could be called on every single play. I could have seen them call it on that.

Benjamin Allbright posted another angle that shows its much less clear. The ball isn't secure before he hits the ground. Since it was ruled an INT on the field, not enough to overturn. Same as if it had been ruled a catch.

Absolute disgust. 2 things. Bills shouldn’t have even been in position. Brandon cooks hand was down. No overtime. Brandon cooks catch in overtime was tie goes to the runner. Has been called 27 times this year including a bills games. Absolute horse *****. Won’t be watching the Super Bowl
The INT was definitely debatable, with me agreeing it should have been ruled a Cooks catch. But he earlier "catch" along the sideline wasn't close and was correctly ruled incomplete. His entire hand was out of bounds.

He still was afforded one extra game.
Get in in the same number as games, sure no problem...
He also did in 200 less pass rush snaps than Watt, and around 100 less than Strahan even in 1 more game.

Draft Notes from NFL sources
in The Stadium Wall

As a Browns fan, I am holding out a little hope of a trade down with the Jets that includes Wilson. 16 and Wilson for 6 and possibly a later pick. Then take a tackle or another WR at 16. Doubt it happens but I can hope.
