Marino, Is my choice, you know from back when they played real football and the QB was just as much fair game as everyone else and you could drill the WR to try and make him drop the ball. Since youre challenging me though how about instead of laughing you put up or shut up. Ive been through this debate a million times. There is a reason the Lombardi doesnt go home with Brady. Its not his accomplishment.
BYW. Brees is a better QB when you get the ring nonsense out of it.
"The ring nonsense." ?
Brees was garbage the 1st 3 years of his career. So bad they drafted Philip Rivers to replace him. He has been great since, but isn't close to Brady. The Saints went 3 years sub 500 recently.
The next closest QB has 4 rings. Brady has 6. And I know it's a team sport, but the entire team has changed 3 times over and they still win. The only lasting piece is Brady.

Gronk, Moss Welker, Bruschi... He had plenti. But I dont necessary disagree. The only player Belichick has had thats the GOAT as his position was Gronk. Maybe Viniteri.
Please enlighten us to which QB is better than Brady.

I thought he did decent in Cleveland last year. I'm pretty sure he started a couple games towards the end of the year because of injuries and he wasn't spectacular but he was solid. I thought we'd keep him as depth.

No team gives up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for a LB.

Wow a rookie QB on a team with a single win in the past 2 seasons before he got there couldn’t, despite a record tying 27 TDS (in 12 starts) “get them to the playoffs”??
Hot take tight there
He broke the record for rookie TD passes. Manning and Wilson had 26.

Any rationale to Luck being shutout by the Chiefs until garbage time?
He had a crap game, along with the rest of the team. It happens. How many times did Peyton Manning choke in the playoffs? Is he a bad QB? Where were you when luck threw 39 TDs this year?

That's a different story if Cleveland wants Bortles, then fine, I don't care what Cleveland does. I took the OP to mean Buffalo to bring in Bortles, which I would be against as it is totally unnecessary.
I was pointing out that he wouldn't have to fit in the QB room. Just cut him.

Long time reader first time topic poster. I was wondering if we could pull a Cleveland move and obsorb Blake Bortles contract for a second rd pick, plus a fifth?
Cleveland only got a 2nd, and I believe Osweiler made more. And gave back a late 4th. Why would Buffalo get more?

Not sure why we need to even consider this. For once in 20+ years the Bills are set in the QB department. Where would Bortles fit in?
Cleveland cut Osweiler.

Mayfield has been good, but letting him choose the HC may have been a little premature (i like Kitchens btw, just saying the process raised some eyebrows). Depodesta wanted Stefanski.
I'm not sure which is true because right after kitchens was hired it was reported multiple places that Baker was never consulted at all about which coach to hire. Florio is a Steelers fan so it's hard to tell when it comes to stuff like this if it's accurate. He trashes the Browns as many chances he can get.

A lot of us were all pretty high on him at the time. I was pulling for him to be our HC and keep Schwartz as DC. We obviously would've been screwed with Rex or Hue.
Hue was thought of the #1 coaching hire that offseason by a lot of people. Turns out he is a good OC, terrible HC.

NFL Rumors: Hue Jackson Interviewed for Cardinals OC Job Under Kliff Kingsbury
Adam Wells January 18, 2019
The Arizona Cardinals could give Hue Jackson an opportunity to reinvent his career on Kliff Kingsbury's staff.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jackson interviewed with the Cardinals on Friday for their offensive coordinator position.
Jackson was a candidate for the Cincinnati Bengals' head coaching position after they parted ways with Marvin Lewis.
During his introductory press conference with the Cardinals, Kingsbury told reporters he is going to call the plays on offense and wants his coordinator to help with the game-planning.
If Hue ends up in Arizona with Kingsbury, next year's Cardinals vs Browns will be interesting to say the least. Mayfield may throw 10 TDs out of pure spite.

Once again the Top rated Rookie CB is overlooked. At least Foster got mentioned. Probably because he should have made the team.
The top rated CB by 1 service. He had s great year, but Cleveland wouldn't trade Ward for him. Carolina wouldn't trade Jackson for him.
I always wonder if they factor in WHO the CB is covering.

Fair trade factoring in a top 10 pick gets a 5 yr deal there would be a premium. Let's say a 3rd round pick which would be the 68th pick.
We would be drafting
24, 27, 40, 64, 74 in the first three rounds. Plus have two picks in the 4th, 5th and 7th and one in the 6th.
If we add a WR, OG, C, T and TE and maybe an OLB in free agency we could draft:
24 - Hakeem Butler - WR
27 - Dexter Lawrence - DT
40 - Irv Smith - TE
64 - Youdny Cajuste - OT
70 - Chris Lidstrom
then in 4th round LB Kahil Hodge and RB Josh Jacobs
thoughts please
Every 1st rounder gets a 5 year deal, not just top 10.

The Jets have set them up massively last year when they traded up for Darnold..
The Colts still ended up with the player they wanted ( Nelson) in the first round and they extorted another three second rounders out of them..
And they drafted the Defensive Rookie if the Year in the 2nd.
-
My only question is do they factor in who the cornerback was covering? A second or third corner should have a higher rating because they're covering lesser receivers. Knowing how intricate Pro Football Focus is I'm assuming they took that into account. Great year either way.

Only in NCAA, and it just started this year.

Yeah. You're pry right. I could see a desperate team like the Jets or Cardinals taking on that cap hit as they're QB has a lot of years left on his rookie contract. My guess is that the Steelers patch things up with him though.

They cant pass the hit on to any other team. If he is traded or cut, they have to eat it. No way around it unless, as was mentioned, AB gives back money, which won't happen.

Which is still doable for teams with a lot of cap space the next two years like the Bills and Jets.
That would be the dead cap space for the Steelers, not the team he would be traded to. And Pittsburgh is always tight on cap room.
-
2 minutes ago, Doc Brown said:
I heard it through the grapevine he'd only count for 7 million against the cap if they trade him after June 1st. The Bills have no shot in hell, but he still could realistically be traded. I'm sure the Steelers and him will make amends though.
Yes, but still 14 million next year then.

Yes Baker is intelligent but With Allen's physical abilities AND his intelligence will make him a better QB. Im basically say ing Allen isnt one of those guys who will just rely on his athleticism to get by.
That's fair then. I feel like Baker is way ahead as a passer, but obviously Allen has the running ability and size. I feel like Baker will always be a better passer. Allen can make up some of that will his running as long as he doesn't get injured a lot.

He was decent in Cleveland but he was hurt a lot. Once he stayed healthy, he was pretty solid. Small school kid who took a bit to develop.
