Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.
Motorin' replied to Locomark's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also heard the suggestion of expanding to 8 teams and the top 2 get the bye. -
What are the chances of KC tying? If KC ends up 14-3, and we end up 13-3, I think KC should get the bye. But championship game between Buffalo and KC should be held on a neutral field.

A tie reduces your overall winning percentage. So a team that 12-4 is a head of a team that's 12-4-1... Meaning a tie is as good as a loss when the teams have not played the same number of games.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.

If the Ravens beat the Bengals this week, and if they end up being the Wild Card matchup, then I think it would be most fair that the game be played on a neutral site since the result of the Bills v Bengals would have determined the AFC North winner. That would be rendered moot if the Bengals win. -

If the Bills haven't played all of their games and could win the #1 seed, then KC did n't earn Home Field advantage either. It's a reasonable solution. -
Has Taron Johnson injury severity been diagnosed?

Yeah, there's nothing that Tee did wrong. -
I hear that. I'm guessing the game will be canceled and they will use winning % for seeding.

I believe the rule book says that the NFL Commissioner can do as he sees fit during emergencies. Meaning nothing is off the table in terms of how to deal with this uncharted territory.

What if the Bills refuse to play the Patriots?
Motorin' replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're right, everyone is and should be forced immediately back to work in each those situations. If you say so it must be true. They probably should have been forced to keep playing Monday night too. -

You're pretending like what happened wasn't an emergency, and that an emergency isn't still ongoing. The Bills very well may be ready to play this weekend. But they may not be, and if they aren't, why in the world would that mean the whole league needs to fold? Apparently Burrow just said there are some Bengals players that don't want to play this weekend after witnessing a man die on the field. If both the Bills and Bengals told the league they can't play this weekend, because of an actual emergency that happened to just them, why would the whole league need to fold? The rest of the games get played. AFC North goes to the Bengals and the rest of the seeding is decided by win percentage. -

But the Bills should be forced to risk injury if they aren't prepared to play? -

What does Miami and Pittsburgh think? The owners, players and Head Coaches? -
"The NFL announced Tuesday that it planned to play this weekend’s games as scheduled. However, the situation is subject to change as the circumstances surrounding Hamlin, as well as both teams, continue to evolve." I'm saying that I think waiting to hear from coach on what the team needs moving forward. I don't know what that is, as I'm not Coach McDermott.
-
Until we hear from McDermott, we really won't know what the team needs or wants from us as it pertains to this Sunday. They may want a return to normal, get back to their routine. And if that's the case, I expect Coach to communicate that to us at some point later in the week. At the same time, they may have zero desire or ability to step on the field this weekend without knowing how their brother is going to be ok. Not because they want to sit in a dark room and mope or feel sorry for themselves. But because they simple may not be able to generate the level of violence needed to play this sport and protect themselves on the field when their whole being is dedicated Hamlin's well being. I may be completely off base, but I think it's something we should at least consider as a reasonable possibility until we hear an update from the Bills about this weekend's game.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

I think we should closely monitor vaccine outcomes. But that source is intentionally fake news: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NewsPunch
