  1. Marrone and Hackett never coached EJ like that, nor did they have the same philosophy. EJ was hesitant but he didn't read defense fast. So he wouldn't throw. Not at all the same thing.
  2. Wow. Trestman vaults right to the top of the OC job list with that kind of talent. What is it with these guys. I wonder if Kevin Killdrive has a hot daughter.
  3. Tyrod was also coached, first by Rex, and also by Roman, and then Lynn, to not turn the ball over. Mostly by Rex who strongly believed that defense, run game, no turnovers, in that order, won football games. Well we all know Rex miscalculated a lot. But the point is, his coaches totally stressed don't throw interceptions. We can win if we don't turn it over. So a lot of Tyrod's hesitation was that he didn't force throws, he wouldn't throw guys open because they were covered and he was coached not to turn the ball over. It's another reason why he ran so quickly and so much. If Rex and his OC's didn't stress that so much, he would have passed for a lot more yards, he would have thrown over the middle a lot more, and he would have thrown a lot more interceptions.
  4. Floyd won't see the field the rest of the playoffs. Brady will blame him and blackball him for not catching a horrible ball Brady threw that Floyd had to do an Evil Knieval effort to get to, that bounced off his hands into the Texans defender for an INT.
  5. I could get on board with that. If only that it meant no David Lee Roth.
  6. Jet fans B word even when they are good. We used to go to Bills Jets games in the Meadowlands because it was the only stadium in the league where you could go and badmouth the home team and everyone agreed with you and thought you were one of them. Rex also said there wasn't any more pressure from the NY media than there was in Buffalo. It was virtually the same.
  7. That's quite a good article. A shouldread.
  8. Unfortunately it was an autocorrect. I meant to say say.
  9. While that may be true, it's a skyrocket for Childress. Enormous jump in pay, enormous jump in duties and responsibility and public recognition and power and possibility for a legacy.
  10. All right... all right... but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?
  11. Yep. Although it would be a substantial upgrade in job for Childress. It's Reid's show in KC. As a co-OC and not calling the plays, he is doing one third or less of the responsibilities he would have here. If he wants to get a new HC position, this would probably be a good place to get that going. If he helps a Bills offense to get in the playoffs with either TT or whatever retread/rookie they have, he jumpstarts a career re-charge. Just saw no to Jimmy Olsen.
  12. A major reason the Panthers gave up way more yards was their offense sucked. Last year they controlled the ball a lot more. Plus Keukley missed six games although they were playing poor before his injury. Norman hurt bad but their offense sucked and put twice as much strain on their D.
  13. You mean the three yard pass where the DB never looked for the ball?
  14. I just don't see what the Texans were thinking giving him that contract. He's never been good. He wasn't good on the Broncos. He wasn't all that good in college. You had just had Ryan Mallet who is the closest thing and saw him suck, too. It's mind boggling.
  15. BO knows nothing. Osweiler has always stunk. College. On the Broncos. On the Texans. Coaches and GMs get excited about his size and arm but he totally lacks consistency. He's never good for any extended period of time.
  16. Brady is getting PTSD already. He's throwing scared. I assume it will wear off soon but he was a scared little kitty on the Welker pass. Will be interesting to see the next time someone comes close to him.
  17. For a guy who is so confident and has so much conviction, he does seem to waufle on stunting more than I'd like.
  18. Here it comes. Prepare to be pissed.
  19. He probably didn't even hear about it. He was packing up and moving all his stuff to LA to become HC of the Chargers.
  20. There were reports from some relatively minor sources that Kromer was released from his contract. He signed a two year contract two years ago though, so he would have been free to sign with any team. It's hard to know if he was actually released before it ran out. They could have done it as a courtesy because he is being considered for other OC jobs, rumored to be for the Rams (although McVay is going to run that offense).
  21. LOL. Sunday brunch is amazing at the Waufle House.
  22. For all intents and purposes they were seventh. They were seventh going into the Jet game and TT didnt play. They were sixth during the 13 games TT had with Lynn.
  23. Exactly. Not only that, the offense usually had to go the whole length of the field. We didnt get many turnovers or long returns. Our special teams were bad. We scored two defensive TDs, the lowest in the league. We had a ridiculous rash of injuries to WR.
