Well he was suspended for the rest of the season by the team, which was the only reason he wasn't suspended by the league. The league had to come out and say he was eligible to play before the next season but nobody would sign him. The blackball year. Then a year later Rex did.

A star on your team is different than a star player or a star in the league. Both were great players. Frank Lewis had star talent that was never given the accolades due, on either the Steelers or the Bills. Made incredible catches look routine. I was thinking more of players not given credit for being stars more than totally unsung guys that you liked, like Roland Hooks.

I was on the 40 yard line about 20 rows up on the Bills side and the guy behind me, who was my friend's cousin, had the numbers on a winner take all $10,000 pool if Norwood makes the kick. So we lost the game and he lost 10K by a foot. Ouch.

Don't need any sympathy. Arpaio being a racist scumbag is just a fact. From someone who actually lived in the city that he lorded over for quite sometime.

There are a lot of players and coaches and other entertainers like that. For a huge number they are genuinely good or great people. For a seemingly equal huge number they are good or great at playing to the press and fans and not good or great people at all.

Name one team in any sport any time that tried some kind of we don't tolerate bad behavior idea, and will only sign or keep good citizens that won anything. I can't think of one. Not advocating or excusing Dareus' behavior. I thought McD was right for sending him home. But the idea of cutting him outright if he is only two hours early instead of two hours and fifteen minutes for a game he is not playing in is lunacy.

I think of him as a very, very good player. I think if you polled Bills fans here or anywhere, Butler would (regrettably) not be in the top 20 or 30 all time Bills in a vote like that, even though he was great for a short time and had an unfortunate injury. Same with Romes who was one of the top 5 players at his position in all of football but younger Bills fans wouldn't think of him or even know of him.

Forgot McGee, one of my all time favorite players. Liked all of Ahmad Rashad, JD Hill and Bob Chandler, too.

That's actually a good analogy and exactly what has been happening all this time. I will add that there are thousands of scratch golfers around the world who have equal talent to the guys who win on the Pro Tour. The difference between them is that the guys who win on the Pro Tour can make those seven foot putts under pressure with a schit ton of money on the line and thousands of people watching on Sunday on national TV and the other thousands of equal talent miss that putt. The Bills have been full of equally talented players that just don't make the play when they need to most.

The word going around is that Kyle Williams is so pissed at Incognito for not letting him fight Dareus first that he has left the team and is probably retiring if he cannot get traded to the Patriots. No link but a lot of people are talking about it.
