Maybe the best defensive mind in the last 10yrs as well. He didn't win this game tonight, but his defense and special teams did more than the 49ers to win. Exactly. Look at Mahomes in his 1st game action his rookie year. Would have been a lot of the same in year 2 is my guess.

What did Mahomes do that made him the best? He played ok tonight. Threw a pick and had 1 touchdown gifted on a special teams blunder by the 49ers, and another easy pass on a wide open 3yrd play. He took sacks, made terrible throw aways, had 2 intentional grounding ( only 1 called). His defense and special teams carried his team tonight.

They absolutely were going to call PI as the ref who threw the flag wasn't watching where the ball went. So they huddled and had to discuss exactly what happened and didn't come up with plan b but settled on holding as the right call.

That DH was absolutely a penalty. The refs just had to decide if it was going to be PI or DH. They made the right call as the ball was so far out of bounds, but it doesn't negate the holding or illegal contact after 5 yards.
