  1. It's a tough choice. I personally think they keep 10 OL. If only 9 it's IMO the starting 5 plus Anderson, Van der Mark, VPG and Grable. If it's 10 than it comes down to Clapp or Collins. Collins entire $1.5M would be dead money, Clapp is $287k. If they keep 10 and it's close they go with Collins. Another Center would not be needed. Beane and the money vs the cap is not the main reason BUT it will be considered.
  2. He's guaranteed $2.25M. $1.35M dead money this year with $900K next year. I don't think they thought that was intent to cut contract. The way I see it, he makes the 53 or a slight chance they IR him to start the season. IMO. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/25275/marquez-valdes-scantling
  3. If Beane and McDermott play the IR stuff straight up I agree with everything. I missed Spector in my OP. That seems probable. It seems to me that there has been at least one "questionable" IR player "stashed" in the past. I'm wondering if that happens again.
  4. LOL. I don't see MVS being cut. But I do see a chance he could start on IR.
  5. LOL. That makes more sense.
  6. Thanks, but my thinking is if released and the replacements don't work out OR injuries. Those guys could be valuable. There could also be a "stashed" player similar to what Beane has done in the past. I like Morris a lot, but if he's banged up some you can move him to IR and give Davidson a decent shot for a few games. Make the final decision later. True, but my thinking is more about expanding the roster. Morris could be waived/injured but my thinking is to keep him on IR for the minimum time at least.
  7. I'm trying to guess what they do with IR'd players come Tuesday. The new rules give you 2 to go to IR without any cuts being made. I think Beane and McDermott will send at least 3 to IR with a Ferguson type "parking lot" cut and sign. Beane has enough money to do that if he doesn't get rid of too many higher dead money vets. Could he go with 4? I'm not sure. Milano Spector? MVS (saves the dead money and gives time for the WR stuff to settle down for a few games) Morris? Maybe if his injury is bad enough. Is there a DB move to be made? A DL move? I don't see Trubisky going. If he not available for Week 1 they can elevate DiNucci from the PS for the game. I think this is key to who the final 53 Tuesday night end up being. Moving some of these guys for a 4-week minimum gives them some wiggle room to see what they really got with some of these younger players. It also gives time to see who does clear to get to the PS.
  8. I'm okay with it too. It's the PS RB. I think Evans right now brings a little more.
  9. Evans got a hamstring today. If it's bad enough then FGJ may make the PS for a while.
  10. Lots of bad talk about Collins BUT he did look pretty good today to me. Agree that they deep 10-OL, with 6-WR, 3-TE, 4-RB/FB and 2-QB. Who are the 5 and 6 WRs and 3rd TE (if Morris is hurt enough for IR) are my only questions. I'm going wild with Shavers and Hamlin as 5th and 6th with MVS going to start the season on IR.
  11. Harty looked good. Punting is not too bad. The worry is kicking and kickoffs.
  12. Hardy? If he makes it as a returner. Unless they keep him as NCB depth, then Cam is gone.
  13. I liked Bass a lot, but even I knew they should have brought in camp competition right after the draft. Heck, I wanted Beane to draft a punter or kicker with his 7th rounder this year. I am a huge Beane and McDermott supporter but I don't like almost everything that has been happening with the Special Teams. That's from Smiley on down.
  14. Everyone loves a Cinderella story.
  15. Good. I got 15 other streaming TV services with never an issue on any of them. I'm going to call YouTube Monday is it continues.
  16. I got YouTube TV and the NFL package a few days ago. I'll see the quality of the feed. I will admit that I have had some buffering issues with the normal YouTube TV which I don't like. None of my other streaming services buffer at all.
  17. Like everyone else, hoping for no injuries and some of the depth guys looking good. The passing game ought to be "interesting" to say the least.
  18. Still lots or arguing over this WR stuff. LOL. Nothing "earth shattering" is going to happen. The only thing that would cause that is a severe injury. It's Samuels, Shakir, Coleman and Hollins as the top 4. How they are used with Kincaid, Knox and the RBs is UNKNOWN as of now. MVS is going to make the team along with one of the others (who will have ST value). If Samuels can't go Week 1, they will adjust the targets accordingly. Everyone can comment on how they feel about this but it's useless to debate about any new WR moves because that is not happening. If fans want to argue about the passing game, it seems to me it is better applied as to HOW Brady will use the players he has. IMO, not that anyone cares.
  19. If the Bills keep 6 WRs there is the possibility that 1 does not dress on certain weeks. The top 4 will and if one is a ST ace then he will too. MVS doesn't do ST so I can see him not dressing all the time.
  20. Only 8 teams have more than 1 kicker. Most are just camp legs. No guarantee at all there will be a good one cut. It was a McDermott comment. Not Beane.
  21. There is a lot of truth to that. As an example, there is a WR thread over 100 pages which is dominated by a few posters who go back and forth and know they will NEVER change the others' opinions. It's tiring to read through all that. On a personal note: I like to talk football strategy and discuss players and coaching as much as anyone BUT when it comes down to it, I'm just a fan. Football brings out the little kid in me so in the end if I think my dad (QB) can beat up your dad (QB) I don't need to be "realistic". LOL. Go Bills.
  22. The whole IOL doesn't look settled to me at all right now. Don't know if the Bills go with 9 total OL or maybe 10. Not sure where Clapp stands right now. I think he is the "maybe 10th" guy. Might be why he's getting reps at G along with VPG. Let's keep everyone healthy until the start of the season and we will find out soon what's happening.
  23. Having too high (or too low) of "expectations" seems to be a problem for many fans, especially on this board. Every year is a completely new football season with so many possible scenarios it seems foolish to me to try to "guess" what will happen. The Buffalo Bills have a very good chance of having that dream season we all hope for. I for one am looking forward to this season. Go Bills!
