We kept the guy who missed a 1/2 dozen extra points right? -

Didn't we draft Hopkins as well as Teller? Not that we need a kicker. Your welcome Browns fans. -

Our RB's had what 8 or 9 carries? We just have little to no commitment to the run. Effects every other part of our offense. -
So much focus on Davis when the problem has never been Davis. We needed to replace Beasley's catches (ala Shakir or Kincaid) and Davis was never going to do that. Davis keeps safeties over the top and he run blocks. That what he does. Our offensive woes are because our QB can't consistently find hot reads and we refuse to use the running game to make teams put guys in the box.

Now the Saints are within one score and driving ................. teams just can't put anyone away. -

So many teams finding ways to lose .................... should we feel better about things? -

I'd have to think that if you actually give a RB more than 10 or 12 carries with even mediocre success that it helps your passing game. If you just drop back and pass 75 percent of the time you are just going to make pass rushing predictable and finding open throws that much harder. -

Cook is as good a runner (and a little faster) and we wanted some power. So we signed Harris. If we used our RB's we could probably get more production out of Cooks but since they mostly pass block it's entirely possible Singletary was a better fit. -

Cook got a lot of carries at the end of the season but I'm with you ............. as far as I know Singletary was still the starter. Cook has never been able to pass block well and considering we run about 10 times a game our RB's are mostly pass blockers. -

McKenzie's "good" game is still nothing that makes me miss him being on our roster. Shakir is far and away a better receiver. -

Amazing how good RB's look when you use them. Our RB's are mostly used as extra pass blockers and it's probably what they (Cook at least) are worst at. -
Well the issue is that he is not that so forcing or not forcing the issue is tstill hat he isn't taking what is there and he's killing drives. He holds the ball, he gets sacked, he fires it into coverage and he's turned the ball over more than any other QB in the league the last 3 years. Yes sometimes he makes insane plays but he has to be able to keep the offense on schedule and that isn't going to happen if your whole offense is built on scrambling and throwing 15 yards down field across your body.

Kincaid doesn't fumble it's entirely possible we win this game. We weren't that far off. Defense looked pretty good all things considerned. Offense never learns to just take what the defense is giving them.
-
After a quick look we had the same number of drives as the Bengals. Almost the same number of first downs. Similiar 3rd down efficiency. Big difference was time of possession and 2 turnovers. Kincaid doesn't fumble it's entirely possible that we win this game even with the offense again looking like it doesn't want to score for 2 quarters.
-
Most of this game had nothing to do with the WR's. The Bengals were sitting on everything down the field and the underneath stuff was there. When Josh was taking it we moved the ball easily. When Josh was holding the ball and trying to force it into that coverage we looked like crap. Josh in many cases refuses to take what's there. When he finally started taking what was there was when we finally were able to get a shot into the end zone. Allen is a prize fighter who hates to use a jab and it's biting us in the butt.
-
Or if they had just stopped them they could have had the ball back with a stop ...............
-
What do I know but I feel just the opposite. I think McD preaches conservative take what's there and that is what was working. Dorsey likes slinging it as does Josh and that was what the Bengals were playing as Josh held it llooking down field and throwing it into the stands and taking hits. I thing Josh trys to Mike Tyson his way through everything ........... he's all punch and no jab. It takes him whole games sometimes to figure out just take what they are giving you.
-
That defense could win us a game vs the Bengals. They weren't perfect but they made a few stops. There was hope. The offense needs to go back to the drawing board and learn to make it easier, take what's there, and then hit them when they try to take away the short stuff. Right now teams just sit on the 10 to 15 yard stuff and Josh sits back there and takes sacks or gets chased around.
-
Welcome to the club Miller ............. you are now Billsy.
-
Exaactly the opposite. Josh will not take the underneath stuff. For 3 quarters he moves off what they are giving him and kills drives throwing deep shots into coverage. Then after 3 quarters of stalled drives he takes what they are giving and we move the ball.
-
Sure wish we had that time out from the challenge ..............................
-
It only takes us 3 quarters to figure out how to play offense.
-
The Pats always found a way to get a tight end down the seem after a few short passes. Seems like now would be a good time to get Kincaid a 20 yarder down the middle.
-
Using a time out on this will probably bite us in the butt later.
-
They are not taking the short passes and the plays look like crap. They should just keep hitting Kincaid and Shakir and keep moving the ball.
