  1. Sadly even when it doesn't fail we just stop running the football.
  2. Honestly it seems like they must like Gabe because Shorter seems like a Gabe clone. We'll see when/if he gets on the field but they have almost identical measurables. Even if Gabe is our second outside WR I'm betting as the season progresses Shakir and Kincaid get the lions share of the targets.
  3. Now the Giants are getting fiesty ..............
  4. Besides running Cooks seems like he could add so much catching passes if Allen (or Dorsey take your pick) would just throw him the ball more.
  5. Same problem with Cook that we had with Singletary. We have zero commitment to the running game. It was worse when Motor was here. We might have upped our average carries for a running back from sub 10 up to 12 or so but we still rarely run the ball as a way to win a game. In many cases we don't even run enough to set up passing either. We spread the field and let Josh run around until someone gets open or he breaks a run. Why else would a team be able to commit two guys to spying on our QB other than they aren't worried about our running game or coverage.
  6. Singletary (or Cooks for that matter) could probably do anything Ekeler does out in LA and I feel like he's a decent back. I can't remember the last time we came out and just ran the ball at teams. Maybe Chicago last year or the Raiders this year, either way we just don't do it. I don't believe it's that we can't. I just think we don't and I feel like it would make life much easier for every part of our passing game.
  7. Would like to see Shakir play the 2 spot and run 12 personnel when Knox gets back. Either way if we actually ran the ball and threw short enough to make teams do something other than play shells on us Davis would be more productive. It's not that Davis is never open. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/11/8/23951740/all-22-analysis-buffalo-bills-wr-gabe-davis-vs-the-cincinnati-bengals-nfl-week-9-snf
  8. Kind of cherry picking. Singletary has a whole career of averaging well over 4 yard per carry. Not surprising a team gives him some carries and he responds. I don't think he's better than Cooks (unless we are talking about pass blocking) but they are both capable backs. Now if we would just give a back on our roster some carries.
  9. When you don't look at your short guys who are open and don't run the ball not the best or as good as it should be.
  10. The score is zero zero and this is the most exciting this Dallas/Giants game is going to get.
  11. McDermott school of clock management and wasted challenges.
  12. We kept the guy who missed a 1/2 dozen extra points right?
  13. Didn't we draft Hopkins as well as Teller? Not that we need a kicker. Your welcome Browns fans.
  14. Our RB's had what 8 or 9 carries? We just have little to no commitment to the run. Effects every other part of our offense.
  15. So much focus on Davis when the problem has never been Davis. We needed to replace Beasley's catches (ala Shakir or Kincaid) and Davis was never going to do that. Davis keeps safeties over the top and he run blocks. That what he does. Our offensive woes are because our QB can't consistently find hot reads and we refuse to use the running game to make teams put guys in the box.
  16. Now the Saints are within one score and driving ................. teams just can't put anyone away.
  17. So many teams finding ways to lose .................... should we feel better about things?
  18. I'd have to think that if you actually give a RB more than 10 or 12 carries with even mediocre success that it helps your passing game. If you just drop back and pass 75 percent of the time you are just going to make pass rushing predictable and finding open throws that much harder.
  19. Cook is as good a runner (and a little faster) and we wanted some power. So we signed Harris. If we used our RB's we could probably get more production out of Cooks but since they mostly pass block it's entirely possible Singletary was a better fit.
  20. Cook got a lot of carries at the end of the season but I'm with you ............. as far as I know Singletary was still the starter. Cook has never been able to pass block well and considering we run about 10 times a game our RB's are mostly pass blockers.
  21. McKenzie's "good" game is still nothing that makes me miss him being on our roster. Shakir is far and away a better receiver.
  22. Amazing how good RB's look when you use them. Our RB's are mostly used as extra pass blockers and it's probably what they (Cook at least) are worst at.
  23. Well the issue is that he is not that so forcing or not forcing the issue is tstill hat he isn't taking what is there and he's killing drives. He holds the ball, he gets sacked, he fires it into coverage and he's turned the ball over more than any other QB in the league the last 3 years. Yes sometimes he makes insane plays but he has to be able to keep the offense on schedule and that isn't going to happen if your whole offense is built on scrambling and throwing 15 yards down field across your body.
  24. Kincaid doesn't fumble it's entirely possible we win this game. We weren't that far off. Defense looked pretty good all things considerned. Offense never learns to just take what the defense is giving them.
  25. After a quick look we had the same number of drives as the Bengals. Almost the same number of first downs. Similiar 3rd down efficiency. Big difference was time of possession and 2 turnovers. Kincaid doesn't fumble it's entirely possible that we win this game even with the offense again looking like it doesn't want to score for 2 quarters.
