  1. So Singletary's fumbling problem is 3 fumbles (including today) with 1 lost in the last 2 seasons?
  2. Why is Singletary chopped liver? Why aren't more people crying for him just to get more carries? The guy isn't a bruiser but neither is Moss or Breida. Every time he gets carries he produces. He doesn't fumble. I just don't understand why the guy isn't getting more than 7 carries a game.
  3. Yeesh ........... Vick is to breaking plays down like Brissett is running the ball. Slow and awkward.
  4. Where is Ed "guns" Hochuli when you need him.
  5. Wow ..........fist full jersey after he hugged him.
  6. Over under on Dolphins messing this up?
  7. Where the hell is that 280 pound fullback the Ravens have? Want to see him pound out some holes in that Miami defense. Why the hell did that WR not run out of bounds?
  8. Tipped passes ............ the bain of a QB's existence.
  9. Pats perfected the rub routes using rbs, which opened up the TE down the seam. Then when teams tried to cover those they'd get the WR's involved down the field. If we can't run effectively and the rush is getting to us we need to be extra efficient in our short passing game and the more effective we are the better chance we have of opening things up for the WR's later. Wouldn't hurt to get our rb's better involved in the passing game.
  10. Refs are killing this game. In my opinion they've blown at least 3 or 4 plays just in the last 5 minutes. Wait ........ somehow got this one.
  11. He processes everything 1 second too slow. Even the pull down and run decision is too late. He could be wrecking them if he'd just take off but by the time he gets his big frame rolling down the field the Ravens are chasing him.
  12. Same offense that was blamed for our problems when we were losing under Rex Ryan. Meanwhile the defense was giving up 30 plus to the Dolphins and Jets.
  13. and my take away is that Brisset should just pull it down and run more. Not the offense you want but if it works just mike vick the hell out them.
  14. Is it just me or did the "hold" on the offense look like the defender had a fist full of jersey at least twice. Then they ignored clark getting there pretty early on the TE. Refs seem to be getting worse every week. It's not that reassuring to realize they don't just suck in our games.
  15. or even two HB's and let them both chip for the tackles on the way out to the flats. Give the WR's time to work down the field and the middle and back the coverage even further off so if you do outlet to a back he has 3 or 4 yards before they close on him.
  16. Really good break down of the how and why we've ended up with a running attack that is where it is. My take is from this video is that essentially we have mixed scheme personal that we mash into a zone block scheme because it minimizes missed blocks that blow up your running game. Although clearly we are still missing blocks and our running game is still getting blown up.
  17. I think the whole point Turner was making is that the backside guard passes off the defender. The Colts LT makes that block because the guard held his man up until he got there. If Dawkins is expecting the guard to pass him off (the way the colts guard did) then it's pretty reasonable as to why he couldn't make that block.
  18. Turner says specifically to watch the back side guards because they tag teams the defender, pass him off and keep him blocked vs our guard taking off and leaving the defender for dawkins who didn't have a chance. Zone blocking should have men in their zone blocked up, not running free.
  19. If you are going to throw 80 percent of the time you better have an Oline that can block and is smart enough to find their man on stunts. While I'd rather just run the ball more I'm not above admitting we could probably still throw all the time and move the ball and score points if our starters were healthy (both the OL and Knox). I still wish we had a more adaptable offense that could put in two TE's and run it in some games and then go 3 or 4 wide in others and throw it. In both cases Josh is going to have to understand who's out there with him and not throw picks, not fumble, and end drives with (as he'd tell you himself) kicks. As much as I like him sitting in the pocket and making thows if they are going to do shell coverage and spead out their defenses I'm also all for Josh running more. Be smart and don't take a ton of hits but if it gives us an extra blocker and he can run for 5 or 6 all day go ahead and take it till they start changing up coverages.
  20. You're trying to shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic. Sure the grass is greener on the other side of the fence where they care about the grass. They haven't been trying to develop a running game since Dennison left and Allen was drafted.
  21. to this end according the splits from ESPN Singletary has 0 carries on thrird down and Moss only has 7. Meanwhile Allen has 21 carries on 3rd down. So our 3rd down back is our QB.
  22. Someone give Henry 6 carries a game behind our line and see how long he stays in the conversation for pro bowl or MVP. Hell if Robinson plays yesterday he probably joins Damien Harris and Aaron Jones and Herderson Jr as one of four rbs in the top ten ( so not counting Lamar Jackson) in yardage. All 5th round picks or later. James Connor is tied with Henry at 10tds. He was 3rd round pick 105. Most RB's are products of the teams and offenses they play on and are rather interchangeable. There are good ones and not so good ones but largely production will be dictated by game plan over the season and dedication to the run over the season. We simply have no dedication to the run. Not in the front office, not in the game plan, and not in the game time coaching. There is no doubt in my mind our rb's could run the ball on any other team and like I said any back on any list would not be doing much with our current commitment to running the ball. What is truly biting us in the behind is that when you go all in on the pass you better have a line that can at least pass block and with the current injuries that is the question.
  23. Give me one reason why Singletary isn't a decent back. He works like any RB would here. Give him carries and he produces. Give him 6 carries a game and the production is going to be limited. Even with a terrible line the guy pops off good runs often enough that with more than a handful of carries and chances are he'll break you off some good runs. The less we run the ball the worse the offense looks.
  24. Went to the Falcons who are currently starting a WR at RB. Not even sure where Gurley is now.
  25. See how open those Tennessee TE's are. Wild guess here but it's probably because teams think they might run the ball.
