  1. For the love of god if you never (and I mean never) run the ball they just find ways to get to your QB and then you have nothing.
  2. Our pass rush NEVER gets there. Like ever.
  3. ....... remember when we had Glenn, Incognito, and Woods on the left side? That's a line you can run behind. Miller and Mills were a little more forgettable but I bet Miller is better than Ford. All that said I think the run game is not well coached from an execution standpoint. I am not even sure if it's bad play design because frequently it just seems like bad execution and players that can't block the run more than the actual play itself being bad.
  4. People can complain about the run defense or the lack of running game but ultimately I am just disappointed with the loss. Although both the Titans, Colts, and Pats were match up problems the reason we lost the Titans and Pats games came down to execution and making plays when you need to. We are not losing games because we can't stop the run or that we can't run the ball. We are losing because we aren't controlling the things we can do like not giving up the big play, catching key passes for td's or first downs, and penalties. While having weaknesses isn't ideal we aren't losing because of them. We are losing because we just aren't playing well and doing what we should be able to do. These weren't games we couldn't win. They were just games we didn't.
  5. So I guess Jordan Mills is still bouncing around the league. Anyone else remember that turd.
  6. Coach goes to Pats but McDermott is good. QB goes to us but Jones is well coached has only thrown two picks in the last 4 games to Allen's 7. RB might not be a strong plus for the Pats the run game is better blocked and utilized by the Pats. WRs & TEs We have far more talent especially at WR but execution here is key. OL Pats DL Seems like this should be us but the Pats get to the QB more and are solid against the run. CBs & Safeties Again normally this would be us but without Tre this is much closer and possibly even goes to them. We have better coverage safeties and the Pats have much better hitters. Their best corner is better than anyone we will be starting at corner. K goes to us SP TEAMS when was the last time the Pats had a punt blocked for a TD or fumbled a kickoff?
  7. I think the comparison that'll make the biggest difference is execution and mistakes and the Pats don't usually lose in those departments. If we execute better and make less mistakes there's no doubt in my mind we win against the Pats but our recent history makes me think we have to get better.
  8. Seeing as how Fournette has never averaged over 4.5 ypc in his career I'm not sure how 7 carries a game would make him much better than Singletary's 7 carries a game.
  9. By the numbers the run game was crud but while I was watching the game I thought it looked like a nice "keep the defense honest" attempt at running the ball. Breida seems a much better option than Moss and Singletary while not being a track star is shifty as hell. There were 2 and 3 yard runs where he should have been dropped 2 yards in the backfield. I definitely felt like it helped set up play action later on.
  10. For all the Edwards haters I've seen the guy brought the wood when he hit Henry and no one was thumping Taylor. You take out that one long run we didn't do so badly vs Henry. To be honest I'm not even sure Taylor going off is why we lost. We had them stopped on several occasions and either missed a sack and watched Wentz run 30 yards or hit him in the knees well after he threw the ball and got a penalty. Don't get me wrong Taylor was going to have a good day but he does that against everyone. We still could have beat the Colts, there's no doubt in my mind.
  11. The production for the given amount of carries is not the problem. Ever since they took the training wheels off Allen the running game has been the red headed step child. I honestly think Singletary or Breida both could produce very well in a running attack that had any focus to it. Moss seems like a decent one cut back but our O-line frequently lets defenders through and I think Motor or Breida are more elusive or speedy where as Moss either hits a hole or hits the ground.
  12. Get rid of the turnovers and the penalties and there's no reason this game isn't 14 to 10 or even 14 to 13 at the half. There were make-able plays that just weren't made. Not scheme related or out of a players ability. Just stop turning the ball over or stop getting penalties or tackle the QB before he runs for 30 yards. We weren't stopping Taylor today but we didn't have to stop ourselves. Still could have been in this game.
  13. Why does Dallas hate running the ball? They have less of an excuse than us for not trying to pound the Chiefs with Elliot.
  14. How did Moss become "the short yardage guy" he's 2 pounds heavier than Singletary?
  15. What kind of rotation did we even have today? If it was a rotation why am I seeing Addison all day (missing tackles and getting penalties) and not seeing any of our draft picks, not once.
  16. Well I don't think the Saints are going to throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's on us so if they win it will mean that either Kamara had huge game or Allen threw it to the Saints all night. Keep those two things from happening and we should be able to pull this one out.
  17. I watched the game. Most of the turnovers were not under duress. The line was run blocking reasonably well. Allen was hurried at times but most of his bonehead plays he made after holding the ball way to long and throwing places he shouldn't have been throwing. From the first pick (granted it looked like PI) to the fumble that Motor picked up Allen largely made some bad choices or held the ball too long instead of taking what the defense was giving.
  18. Both Dallas and the Chiefs are looking just like the Bills on offense. Throw every down. Probably could and should be running the ball more but just stubbornly thinking your QB should have it in his hand to the point that you actually make his job harder because the defense is counting on this and coming every single play.
  19. So we are basically the 2008 Colts .............
  20. You can get run on and still win a game but not if you turn the ball over 4 times. There are things you can overcome. Turnovers will kill you.
  21. Finesse team or not I think we could win games like this just like we could have won the Titans game but what you can't be is a team that turns the ball over.
  22. If I hear number one defense one more time I'm going t puke. We can give passing teams a hard time. If it's a running team we are in trouble and if they are a running team that plays great defense Allen will lose his mind turn the ball over 3 times. Even not stopping the run we can still be in these games (like the Titans game). We just aren't making the plays that are there to be made.
  23. Well we are going to get a big dose of what we can't seem to stop (running football teams). So we run the gauntlet and we show exactly what we are.
  24. The way this team is built it starts with the QB so Josh needs to get much better at ball security. Next we need much much better execution and far fewer penalties. Even with Taylor running all over us i still think we are in this game if don't turn it over multiple times and get flagged everytime we have them in 3rd down situations.
  25. That Hines carry should have been another 3 yard loss.
