1/9/22 Gameday Bills vs Jets 2nd Half Thread
Maine-iac replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why are we doing everything except running Singletary? Allen throws a dozen straight incompletions and now we bring in Moss to run the ball. -

35 passes 165 yards .............. 14 runs 74 yards .......... guess we keep throwing. -

No offensive holding put us there and two incomplete passes later we punt. Two 7 yard runs was not the problem. -

I love Josh don't get me wrong but he's had arguably one great game the whole second half of the season and luckily it was the NE game. He makes throws you won't see anyone else make but he's also very erratic regardless of us running a lot or not. -

I don't like that our best punt returner is our starting safety but it might be the truth. -

Very nice. Higher on the list of teams we didn't want to see in the playoffs. -
Bills have underperformed this year by 2+ wins
Maine-iac replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Motor was on pace for 1,000 yards as of week 4. The problem was never Motor they just went away from him and took way too long to come back. Now they are running more and getting better at it the more they do it. Yes Moss will benefit from that also but Moss is the epitome of a one cut runner where as Motor has a lot more wiggle. As far as us nonperforming by two wins we are were in the red zone and came up short of putting the game away at least 3 times. We are probably 3 plays in those games from having 3 more wins. -
I haven't watched him playing for the other teams but when he played for us he would be better at run defense than anyone we currently have playing DE and as good at getting to the QB as any of them also. Rousseau is the only guy we have that seems like they have a legit chance at becoming a real pass rusher but he's not there yet and the rest of them sellout and only get there some of the time. Lawson was a decent "collapse the pocket" type of pass rusher got there often enough to be a threat. He wouldn't get paid like Addison or Hughes but I bet he'd be more productive than either of them.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Falcons (The Athletic)
Maine-iac replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I never thought Hughes would be so invisible. I've read about his pressure "rating" and other articles saying hes doing something but I have to say when I watch any video I just don't see him showing up at all. Even the young guys have a splash play here or there. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Take Care of Falcons
Maine-iac replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Scratching and clawing against the Falcons would equal being down by multiple scores against a good team. The Colts showed us that. The emergence of a running game is great and the emergence of sorts of the Dline is great also. That said our special teams woes and double digit picks since the beginning of Nov are concerning. Not concerning like we can't win but certainly an area we should clean up. We have a scrappy opportunistic defense but i wouldn't call it a shut down defense. The defense you read about on paper does not seem like what you are watching on the field. I feel like we are just as capable of winning any game we play (like last year) yet I don't feel as confident. Like I'm waiting to see which team shows up on Sunday. -
Week 17 Gameday Bills vs Falcons Postgame Thread -PLAYOFFS!
Maine-iac replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's about time Daboll got it. I honestly thought we might just continue to sputter away trying to throw it from spread formations on a slippery field. There is nothing wrong with slowing it down and running the football. It's been a slow corner to round but maybe Daboll is secretly installing a run game into this offense for those times the passing game is struggling. -
Singletary looked great. What's more he's always been great between the 20's but he seemed to have found a nose for the end zone as well. We call run plays so little that it's not often we've been able to see the effects of wearing down a defense using the run and by the 4th qtr we basically owned the Falcons today. As far as Allen somehow not being able to throw as well if we run the ball more that sounds ridiculous. If you are running the ball well enough that your QB isn't throwing the ball at all then you shouldn't be having too many problems scoring points not to mention I'm sure Allen can handle it just fine. The games where Allen has been turning the ball over it had little to do with how many times we ran it. There are no tipped passes when you run every down and rip off an average of 5 ypc.

Just crazy .............. when you give a guy who averages almost 5 yards a carry the ball 15 times he gets you 80 yards. Who would have known? -

Here's where we need a big back to come on with Allen. I'll be the first to admit Motor and Moss aren't goal line backs.
