McDermott defenses have never been great at stopping the run with any consistency. We usually survive that or compensate with getting negative plays and pushing them into longer down and distances. The difference is that the last two years this defense can't cover. I even think our pass rush is better than it's ever been especially when our starting line is healthy. Again the difference is that the pass rush isn't very effective when someone is always open at the snap. I hope Hairston is a huge upgrade at corner and Bishop continues to make progress. Maybe Poyer has something left in the tank or the let Hancock get in there and he shows something. Either way we need to find a way to cover the other teams pass catchers and give the pass rush a chance. Beyond that I certainly can agree the tackling is a pretty big problem as well.
