  1. Which teams are you talking about? Because the Dolphins and Seahawks made great trades.
  2. Oh sorry I was being sarcastic, but some ppl on here were saying that exact thing in the Clowney trade rumors thread as a reason not to trade for him.
  3. You forgot about Harrison Phillips and Zay Jones. They’re gonna take up a big chunk and it’s coming faster than you think. Let’s not go crazy signing pro bowlers with these extensions looming.
  4. Elliott or Gordon trade coming? I hope I’m wrong. I’d rather this become a pass first team for once.
  5. Bad day for good names. We lose captain and ray ray
  6. No I know what youre saying. If you don’t have a rebuttal it’s ok. But don’t try to pretend I’m not comprehending you. I gave you a very valid reason why they may want to sit Rosen instead of “seeing what they have” it happens to be the same reason the Bills intended to sit Allen last season, except swap out Fitz for Peterman.
  7. The difference? How about Fitz>Peterman and I’m guessing you think Allen>Rosen. So what part of the equation am I missing? Or are you saying they should throw Rosen into their tank like the Cards did? Or like we had to with Allen because we chose Peterman to start?
  8. The Bills traded up for Allen and drafted him at 7th overall after putting off the QB pick the year before. Why did they not want to see what they had? (Bad surrounding talent including o-line is probably the answer, which is also true in Miami currently) who says they don’t want to develop Rosen for the future? not to mention the obvious fact that Peterman should never have started any games ever for any team. That alone makes my statement true.
  9. It’s almost like Tyree saw your post about him.
  10. and why wouldn't you want the Bills to be the ones doing the fleecing? How is Clowney not a team player?
  11. So just don't try? I'll say it again, what year of our rebuild did we sign Hughes? They have a good young LT, CB, S. If they add an elite DE they won't be far off depending how next years draft goes.
  12. He's better than anyone on their team, and considering the price it's just good asset management. Why does it matter when you add an elite pass rusher?
  13. He'd probably be better as a pure 4-3 DE. Especially with Hughes/Oliver pushing QBs his way and vice versa. Apparently he doesn't rush every pass play in Hou since he's a LB/DE hybrid in their system.
  14. If they keep getting players as good as Clowney for 2nd round picks they won’t be bad for long. He will still be a good player for very small relative price. At what point in our rebuild did we sign Hughes? I’ll have to look it up but I think it was year -3 or so
  15. Jesus. What's that 2nd rounder doing for you this season? Or even as a rookie next year? Could even be a future 2nd that doesn't contribute for another 3 years if ever.
  16. I suspect some Bills fans are too fond of draft picks and cap space. They lose sight of the fact that those things become players and usually players not quite as good as Clowney.
  17. Exactly. You would think Bills fans would understand the value. An elite pass rusher for a 2nd round pick? Why does it matter where they are in their rebuild? If they draft their future QB next year he will be on a rookie contract while Clowney is getting paid.
  18. Last season at this time we had ppl saying Peterman was going to lead us to the playoffs. How did Josh look at the same time? Bengals game ring a bell? Clearly preseason doesn’t matter AT ALL. I agree Jackson looks bad, but it’s a huge jump from the MAC to even 3rd string NFL. We have an extra spot on the PS this year for Wade anyway. Maybe if someone has a better option I’m all ears.
  19. What about player(s) like McCoy/Nsekhe/Zay and a conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st if he is re-signed? I feel like the players aren't missed since they're older and/or redundant and losing the pick hurts just enough to make sense for me. If Cowney walks in free agency you basically swap a 2nd for a 3rd for one year of Clowney (without going into franchise tag options). If he stays, a huge need would be filled. The 1st round pick would probably be used on a pass rusher anyway. You never know how that player will turn out and how long it will take them to reach their prime. Clowney is more of a sure thing. As for the salary difference, it doesn't matter much since Buffalo has plenty of space for the next couple of years. Hopefully Clowney's new deal would be front loaded, leaving more cap space to re-sign Allen/Edmunds/White. However, even with a big salary for Clowney there will be plenty of cap space to sign everyone.
  20. The premise of a Clowney trade is that the price will be lower because he can't sign an extension. There's also the possibility of putting conditions on the draft pick which minimizes the risk.
