  1. They may not have known about it when they drafted him and up until yesterday may not have known how bad everything was. I see no reason why they would out of the blue just pick Araiza in the draft with the intention of "let's just keep this between ourselves". I don't think they operate like that
  2. They have made a couple mistakes, no front office is perfect. Did you actually expect them to hit on everything they do? What they have done good FAR outweighs the bad Or Beane never knew about it himself
  3. See, this is what I don't like. If Araiza stopped cooperating with police, people would be talking about how guilty he is for not cooperating and get tons of backlash but a girl that claims rape and stops cooperating because of stress, she gets "you poor thing". Any non cooperation should be seen as a red flag. The double standard is ridiculous
  4. No one is saying it's her fault if she was raped
  5. You don't even know me. I'm just saying for someone that says she was roofied and in and out of consciousness during the act so she is still saying right now she doesn't know everything that happened but yet remembers being alert right afterwards that she was raped. I wanna be clear here, of Araiza is guilty of this, I hope he rots in prison. I don't know if you think I'm in favor of what he is being accused of but I'm not
  6. Because you want it to be?
  7. She was alert enough to tell a friend right afterwards that she was raped. So the in and out of consciousness ended as soon as the rape was over. Coincidence
  8. She claimed she was in and out of consciousness during the whole process
  9. She claimed she was roofied and in and out of consciousness during the rape, however she remembers being alert enough right after the rape to come out of the room and tell a friend she was raped? Crazy she was too incapacitated when the rape happened but remembers clearly as soon as it ended
  10. It was said by many at the party that she had told him that she was 18. It's not on him to ask her for her driver's license to prove otherwise. It's on her to be honest about her age. If she really said she was 17 and he still went along with it, then he is 100% at fault
  11. Are you really that naive that you thought he meant that only him getting cut is gonna ruin his life? He meant ruin his life in general. An allegation like this can cause a bunch of problems in his life in multiple ways. Not just possibly ruining his sports career
  12. According to witnesses, she stated she was 18 on multiple occasions
  13. What I said isn't referring to Araiza specifically. It was a general response as an example. It takes at least 2 people to make sex happen, correct? It is not all his fault that he doesn't ask and it is not all hers that she doesn't tell him. However, because of the girl knowing she is the one underage, she should make it more clear. Though, while he could ask, it is not 100% on him to do so. Why do the women and the minors always get the benefit of the doubt in these cases?
  14. It's certainly not all his
  15. Ok. So, tell the guy you're a high schooler. Problem solved
  16. Lol. Ok man. Most people at college parties are drinking and trying to get laid, it's safe to assume that the people there are college age. I could completely understand why someone wouldn't ask. I ask again,, WHY CAN SHE NOT TELL HIM HER REAL AGE? she knows she's a minor, wouldn't that be the right thing to do?
  17. Ok but again, if the girl was 16 or 17, she should make it known to him. How common is it for college students to only be 16 years old?
  18. The only people going to college parties should be college students of college age. That's the point. You don't think when you're at a college party at 18 or 19 years old that a girl you're about to hookup with is only a 16 year old high school girl. She is the one that is under age. She should be the one to divulge her age. If she said she was a minor and he still proceeded, then he is at fault
  19. It was reported that it was an off campus college party
  20. A bar is also a place of business with a requirement of complying with people 21 and older to serve them alcohol. They could lose their alcohol license and be forced to shut down. This is a terrible comparison. It is not a man's job to ask a girl he is about to have sex with for proof of her ID. She is more than old enough to say "I am a minor". If he then proceeds, then he is 100% at fault.
  21. It was a college party. I think it's safe to assume that the people there should be of college age. I know that's probably how most are thinking when they are all there as well
  22. How? They were both at a college party. Why is it his job to ask her? And why can't she say "I'm really 17? Why would he assume she's underage? She shouldn't have even been there. If I was at college party for mainly college students, I would assume they are of age. If she said, "I'm 18", is he then supposed to ask her for ID at that point?
  23. It's not his job to ask. If she's underage she needs to tell him. It's not on him to verify her ID beforehand
  24. Well, yeah doing anything that those guys did is illegal. Big difference. But I think a lot of people go way too crazy with morals. For instance, as I stated before, I see no issue with 2 adults of any age dating or doing whatever they want with each other. I've gotten into arguments with people about how wrong they think it is. People go to extremes with morals over small stupid things
