  1. Does East Carolina college count? 😅
  2. I can't believe Linval Joseph was just sitting around waiting to be signed. Didn't even realize! Love the pickup but now I'm kinda pissed we've been rolling with the turnstiles at DT this whole time while he was out there, lol.
  3. True, he could come back. I can see the logic, even if the injury isn't significant, since they're currently wasting a roster spot on a guy they have no intention of playing. I assume if Elam was on the practice squad it wouldn't be a consideration, but since they added Douglas it stands to reason they want to open up a spot for another possible addition, like a 1Tech that's currently on another team's practice squad.
  4. Week 8 shows him a full participant all week with no injury designation for the game. Now he's on the verge of being shut down for the year? I'd like to know what our practices ask of these players if they can participate fully all week with no issues, yet be heading to IR regardless. 🤷‍♂️
  5. Douglas is a guy who was considered a "bust" and bounced around several practice squads before putting it together. Maybe that kind of guy in the position room helps Elam turn it around.
  6. This guy is like process incarnate. Like, he holds the "process" power of a thousand suns. Can McD even withstand being in the same room with this guy without melting??
  7. As a Bills fan, Mecole Hardman is like the fine wine you pair with the Kadarius Toney entree. Those two clown-shoes can single-handedly throw away a game at any time (and have).
  8. I love the size / length this guy brings. Getting bigger at corner is one of those things I've been hoping the Bills would do for a while now.
  9. I love PFF because they can either be awesome when they affirm my believes, or complete garbage when they don't! 🤓
  10. I mean not for nothin', but that's not exactly an exclusive and elite list of "who's who's" if you know what I mean 😅
  11. Well he's no Levi Wallace, but I guess I'll take it 😏
  12. I mean I don't know about you, but no one would have to "force" me to trade for Johnson and pay him top-5 corner money. We've spent a lot more on a lot less. Consider the situation in 2021: we needed an edge rusher and Von Miller was available for a super bowl push. We could have traded for him, we passed. That very off-season, after he wins a ring with the Rams, we pay him an exorbitant contract ANYWAY. Maybe Johnson's agents are making unreasonable demands, I get there's a lot of factors for why this might not happen. But we gotta get a corner before next season and we either gotta pay up or draft high again. I'd rather have the proven commodity now, that's just me.
  13. Right, after you've received them. This is talking about a PROJECTED comp pick. We're projected to get a 3rd rounder for Edmunds, but.. we don't have it yet. How can you trade it away before you've been awarded one?
  14. But with Tre's injury and Elam being a bust, it isn't as if CB isn't a need for the future as well. That's why a trade for a young, proven stud like Johnson makes so much sense. It's not just an "all in" move, but a move that gets you a player you need moving forward anyway.
  15. Wait how tf can you trade away a "projected" comp pick??
  16. Just like with Von the year he was available for a super bowl push... will we move on a CB too late?
  17. Hey we got a 5th for Cody Ford that one time.
  18. I agree there's no way we'd bring him back to start over Dane or Benford. But we'd be one injury away from starting Josh Norman, so... if we can bring Wallace back to prevent that I'd make the move, personally.
  19. Haha, true he's no world beater but year after year he beat out anyone we had compete with him for the no. 2 role. All I know is considering the recurring injuries and lack of depth at that spot, he's definitely roster-able for this team. That's true both now and last year.
  20. We never should have let Levi walk, considering Tre was still rehabbing and we had no one else to start at CB except Dane Jackson and a hypothetical draft pick (which ended up being Elam). Considering the relative pittance the Steelers paid him, that was a real misfire.
  21. Miami has constructed a team that's custom-built to easily shred below average teams. But as soon as they play a complete team with a competent defense, they get exposed.
  22. If you're just trying to say that Johnson would be an upgrade over Benford / Dane and should start immediately, I certainly agree. If you think McDermott will immediately slot him into a starting position over either one of them if he were acquired, that's where I think it's a lot less likely than you do. I just don't think it's in his DNA to insert someone who has to "get up to speed" over a guy who has played himself into a starter role and has 2-3 experience in the scheme mid-season.
  23. Ok I never said that McDermott "doesn't like INT's." What coordinator tells his defense not to intercept the ball if they can? I'm saying that he puts a higher premium on each individual member of the defense doing their part. I'm saying that if you don't understand the scheme and don't handle your responsibilities, he won't put you out there. A player that doesn't do their job won't have the CHANCE to intercept the ball. We've never gone after a player like, say, Marcus Peters. A player who is a huge ballhawk, but oftentimes to the detriment of the scheme overall. A player who is inclined to put his own stats above the team. Tell me, wise one... why do you think that is? Is it because McD "doesn't like INT's," or is it because he doesn't want a player to prioritize INT's over fundamentals? I'm not really sure what point you were trying to prove, honestly. Are you really going to try and say that McD doesn't emphasize understanding his scheme as a massive priority? That he won't sit a player who doesn't prove he can do that? The whole reason this trade thread is a thing is because he's benched a more talented player (Elam) for players who understand the defense and perform their role better (Jackson and Benford). Why are you acting like the point I made was ludicrous? Lol
  24. You're thinking like a fan who wants to see big plays and the best players on the field, not like McDermott who routinely values system knowledge, responsibility and overall preparedness before everything else. I would certainly hope if we made a big time trade for a big time player that yes he would play sooner than later. All I can say is I hope we get the chance to find out!
  25. So if the Bills bring him in now, what's the over/under on McDermott playing him pre-Week 15? In all seriousness, McD is the type of coach who wants a player fully acclimated to his system before he puts them out there. Even guys we've brought back who know his system inside and outside usually sit a week or two before he's ok with activating them for gameday.
