Beane has hit on exactly 1 big time, blue chip, all-world player in 7 drafts.
Luckily for him, if you hit on that type of player at QB, it buys a LOT of job security and good will.
But at some point that good will is going to run out. I mean in seven years, we can't find anyone who can disrupt the pass consistently? And it seems like the next best players he HAS found, are either oft-injured or simply don't impact the game on a regular enough basis.
Oh, and the coaching is as bland and milquetoast as the talent is. Not a great recipe for a ring.
