  1. I’m taking this weekend off also, need a break.  The wins don’t do anything for me anymore, even KC, and the loses are just brutal.  Just can’t keep doing this with my time and money year after year.

The league itself is unwatchable at this point.  Every play there is a flag, injury or a review.  Football is a great sport, the NFL is a bad league.  I’ll stick to Saturday college football, which still is fun to me and my boys.

  2. The college game is just so much better in so many ways.  NFL games are almost unwatchable.  Penalty flags almost every snap, brutal injuries all over the field, and like 1/2 a dozen reviews every half.  The games has zero pace and flow, just a bad product to watch.

I heard a great quote this week about the NHL that I think also applies to NFL.  Hockey is a great sport, the NHL is a crap league.  Football is a great sport, the NFL is a crap league.

It would be taxpayer money from the whole state, not just Erie County. Our tax dollars have gone to NYC infrastructure. NYC taxpayers will be okay if some of their tax dollars go to a new stadium in Orchard Park. Ideally by building a big new stadium you'll invite more events to Buffalo which in turn will bring business to Buffalo. It isn't a project that exclusively benefits the Pegulas. Infrastructure spending has trickle down benefits. I bet once the official deal is in place the average NYS taxpayer will barely notice a difference.

Almost every study done on public funding for stadiums has shown it has done almost nothing for local economies as they always sell, yet always enriches the team owners.

  4. We have a very large and strong union with my job.  Our union also reached an agreement on vaccines without our vote.  Not all things required member body vote to come to an agreement within a union.  We actually got a really good deal for getting vaccinated and had over 80% of 13,000 vaccinated within 2 weeks of agreement.  Those who remain unvaccinated, that’s their choice, but life will become very inconvenient for them.

This really doesn’t seem that hard, not sure why it is for some of them.

  5. I live in Denver and have followed Lindsay since his transition from Denver South HS, to CU, to Broncos.  Great guy, big heart, but is basically the same back as Singletary.  I would love to have him on our team, but not both him and DS.

Do you have a recommendation for a better coach?

Or examples of the 14-15 coaches you think are better than McDermott?

There are 16 NFL Coaches I would trade for McDermott.  Doesn’t include college coaches I would take over him.

Harbaugh, Reid, Tomlin, Payton, McVay, Vrabel, Arians, Carroll, Shananhan, Pederson, Belichick, Flores, Reich, LaFleur, Rhule, Kingsbury

He is very average, and very boring in every way.

His highlight reel looks good but only 4 receiving TDs last year?

He was hurt much of season.  Played through a lot even though he could have shut it down for NFL.

Watch this piece on Laviska and his family.

I’m a Denver resident, CU fan, and have seen him play many times in person.  He is a stud athlete, versatile, with good hands but has been a bit injury prone.

He is a amazing kid, with tough story.  Would love him with the Bills, but needs to prove he can stay healthy.

....And did not play for a Power 5 team with a high powered passing attack, like Oklahoma or Texas Tech. He lacks experience, is raw but improving, and is learning at the NFL what some of these guys experienced in college. Let's give the player some patience, he has a lot of positive characteristics.

You just a few posts ago said there was a reason Kyle Allen was not drafted, do you think there then is a reason Josh had no D1 out of HS, 2 D1 offers out of JC, and was 3rd team all MWC senior season at Wyoming?

    College

    Allen #1 - 25 GP, 4283 Yds, 61.7%, 7.4 Y/Att, 37 TD, 18 INT, Rating 138.6

    Allen #2 - 27 GP, 5066 Yds, 56.2%, 7.8 Y/Att, 44 TD, 21 INT, Rating 137.7

One Allen UDFA, other gave up 2 2nd rd picks to trade to #7 to draft.  I’m not saying I would trade Allens, but I sure as hell wouldn't have drafted one of them #7 overall.

@Billsflyer12 is a Colorado State fan that joined this board a couple of months after Josh was drafted.  He's only hear to troll Bills fans about Josh.

@Billl joined the board yesterday.  He's trolling

I’m not a f*****g troll.  I’m not CSU fan trolling Josh.  I’m a WNY native, huge Bills fan, that has a different opinion as you.  GMAFB.

FYI, I grew up in suburbs of Rochester, my family and I have been Bills fans my whole life.  My 3 older children were born at Strong Hospital in Rochester.  I was married in a church in Pittsford, as my wife is also a Rochester native.

Professionally I have moved around with my company.  We left WNY in 2004, lived in Houston for 8 years.  Then moved to Denver when my older kids were starting High School.  We just moved back to WNY this summer with our 2 younger kids, our 3 older kids stayed in Colorado as 2 of them are at Colorado St, another at the University of Colorado.  I’m not a CSU fan, just attended many games with my boys.  I’m a CU fan where my daughter attends school.

I’m a passionate, lifelong Bills fan.  I’ve watched every game, even having been away for 15 years.  Yes, I hated the Allen pick, like I said before mostly because they gave up capital to get him.  I hope Josh is the QB for us now that he is here.

You didn't come close to showing "them all".   On the one hand you say that Wyoming is so inferior to P5 schools and then you want to credit everything at Wyoming to one kid.  You can't have it both ways man!  How would have any of these P5 QBs performed at Wyo?  How well would JA have preformed at one of these P5 schools?  You can't ignore that context, along with all of the "better" talent around these P5 QBs.  Your "them all" stats totally whif on this context.  Please tell me you understand that.

No he's not, and it's not even close.

I guess I’m not sure what your logic is.

    1)  There were reasons why Josh was at Wyoming and not a P5 school.  Not recruited out of HS, and only 2 D1 offers out of JC Wyoming and Eastern Michigan.

2). Yes, I think if you put Watson or Mahomes on the exactly same Wyoming team they would have been better then Josh.

3). Big Ben played in the MAC, started almost every game all 3 years he was there without P5 talent, and was significantly better statistically.  Joe Flacco at Delaware we’re he passed for almost 7000yds and 64% completion in his 24 starts there, not P5 talent around him.

4). Yes I think that elite talent at inferior schools should do be expected to do really well.  Also remember, they may not have P5 talent on their team, but they aren’t playing P5 talent either.

I hope Josh is amazing.  For or me Joe Flacco or Big Ben careers would be great result for Josh.  Could have had 2 HOF level QBs and given up no draft capital for them.  JMHO

Also, I have 2 boys in school at Colorado St, have seen tons of MWC football including Josh in person his last year.   Also have 2 D1 football playing nephews.

Not every QB develops at the same pace as there are so many variables. Josh Allen didn't play in a big time football program in college nor was he developed under an offensive genius in the NFL.

Allen didn't play at USC or UCLA in a scheme that had good to really great players around him as every player that had touched the football at Wyoming in 2016 was gone in 2017. His final season he had to deal with offensive players just learning their jobs. Plus he was in an NFL style deep passing scheme that didn't have a lot of short passes like Mayfield, Darnold or Rosen had to pad his completion percentage.  Josh Allen was touted as being a project developmental project and unlike those other three wasn't as polished or NFL ready to start. He was supposed to sit and learn for a season.

The problem was the QB this offensive regime had picked to be the 2018 starting QB was Nathan Peterman...how did that turn out? What does that alone tell you about the mentality of the Bills offensive coaches? Allen was thrown into the fire the first game after the Bills brain trust giving Peterman all the first team reps all off season. This tells me that Allen's offensive coaches pretty much had their proverbial heads up their posterior!

Patrick Mahomes was able to sit, learn and develop for a YEAR behind a #1 overall pick at QB in Alex Smith and taught and developed by an NFL offensive genius in Andy Reid. Like comparing apples to tables. Watson is a different story but his HC was an NFC offensive mind with a New England Patriots background...you didn't see attempting to start Nathan Peterman. Bill O'Brian fielded winning teams with Fitz, Hoyer, Osweiler, Tom Savage at QB

Right now there is no question that Josh Allen is better then Baker Mayfield who is graded as the worst starting QB in the NFL. Rosen isn't even a starter and Darnold is 1-4 and playing on a team that was touted to contend for the AFC East division. 1-7

The NFL isn't easy as the past is filled with so many failed first round QB's. Allen is a young and up and coming superstar being led by an OC who has never fielded an offense better then 20th in his six seasons, 4 NFL teams. In actuality, it's Allen who's making Daboll look like a viable NFL OC.

I don’t blame Josh at all and I like him. It’s not his fault for where he was drafted, what team drafts him and what type of coaches coach him.

I blame McBeane.  They not only passed on 2 college college QBs from power 5 conferences that passed for over 10,000 yds and 65% completion %.  They gave up 2 2nd round picks to get a mountain west QB that even his biggest supporters says was a project.

Has he improved, sure maybe some this season in some areas.  I’m hoping he has similar path as Big Ben career wise.  A big QB, out of small conference, who had slow 1st couple of seasons, that grows into a all pro, super bowl winning QB.  There is time, and I’m hoping for his success.
