I've been doing a 7 round mock W/trades (but no players or future draft picks are allowed to be traded) on a Broncos site for the last 4 years. Wow! I'm 46 and have 5, plus one granddaughter. Congratulations! Wife and I had discussed a couple times having ONE MORE! but she's not 28...she's 42. and our youngest is 10. Fatherhood is awesome!

....not trying to upset the cart or rock the boat.....but just wondering why this doesn't just go all 7 rounds and allow for the trades etc that goes with it?

To clarify, I thought KC was OUT way before signing James for the same reasons. KC and the Bills were going to be interested in Hopkins and/or OBJ if the price was right. OBJ getting 15 million is going to make Hopkins more resolute about not redoing his deal or taking a pay cut. Even if he's released, if he wants 15 million too it could happen with void years and money kicked down the road and no draft picks traded. I would suspect KC would still be a longshot even at that. If he's released, I beleive the Bills would absolutely be in play......becasue you guys are already pushing the chips forward anyhow.

You can cross KC off the list (if you hadn't already) ...KC just signed another rotational WR and simply don't have the cap space to make this move and they aren't going to have it either. Prety much the last thing KC has remaining to do is signing Chris Jones to an extension, and whatever cap space that frees up, will probably be held back to sign the draft class along with a reserve to sign a player or two in season. The signing of Rick James (the WR) should signal to everyone who wasn't sure still, that KC isn't making any more major investments at WR in FA/Trade.

In a full 7 round draft, I would have thrown in a 6th to sweeten that just a little bit. 31 and 63 are right on point for pick 19..it's about 20 so points in favor of KC to move up to 18. We would have still made the deal if it was 31, 63 and 217 for example.

my worthless 2 cents - From the list you have (man this draft is weaksauce) ....as a Chiefs fan, the guy I'd least want you to draft is Downs, WR, North Carolina. Separates, is fast, and can electrify your kick return teams. YAC for days. You DONT need him. Please draft an offball LB.

I knew my target and I knew where I had to get to to get him. This is going well for KC. We now wait for the value at 95.

With the 18th selection in TBD Mock Draft….the 3 time, and current Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs, select……. Calijah Kancey, DL, Pitt RATIONALE for pick I don’t like any of the remaining OT, and feel like we can get a quality WR and edges later. Cancey is an absolute interior pocket destroyer. We don’t care that he’s small for a DT. KC rotates and moves DLine around a lot, which is why they deploy large EDGE players, that move inside from time to time. KC will deploy Kancey all over. One of the very few players I have as a bonafide rd 1 talent for what my roster and scheme does. We are elated to get him here. Overview Undersized, one-gapping defensive tackle who is explosive and productive. He’s a strong and determined player, but Kancey is still going to be a hit-or-miss run defender due to his lack of mass and length. While he will get pushed around at times, his first-step quickness and short memory allow him to make tackles in the backfield. He’s a nightmare for offenses as a pass rusher. His twitchy feet can slide and reset points of attack. His leverage and motor are often too much for guards to handle alone. Kancey might be most effective as a rotational run defender and full-time, sub-package rusher, but his size will not define him in the NFL. Strengths Posted 14.5 sacks and 27.5 tackles for loss in two years as a full-time starter. Combination of first-step burst and contact balance stands out. Captures easy wins against leaning interior blockers. Excellent change-of-direction quickness and reactive athleticism. Terror in the pocket as a pass rusher. Laser-sharp focus on fastest possible way into the pocket. Slide speed to start at B-gap and finish rush in the opposite A-gap. Forward-charging attack eventually finds an edge or angle to exploit. yes, but of the coaches that took a long time to get the first ring...the QB they paired up with....they were never a duo more than 5 years. That's my point here with McD and Allen...this is year 6 together. Andy Ried didn't win his first SB until he'd been a head coach for like 20 years...but it was his 3rd season paired up with Mahomes.

There is a first time for everything, and just becasue something hasn't happened before doesn't mean it won't happen. I get it. But, I wouldn't dismiss this stat as meaningless. It stongly indicates that 5 years is enough time to know if you have QB problem, a coach problem or both. The Bills have the 3rd best SB odds this year...it's ENTIRELY possible McDermott and Allen become the first QB/Coach duo to make it happen after 6 years together.

....Maybe I should have worded this better....but Brady and Belichic were together just a year and won their first super bowl. That's what I'm talking about....No coach and QB ever paired up has gone more than 5 years without a SB win, and THEN won it in later years. If your coach and QB hasn't gotten it done after 5 years together, in history, none ever have. This will be McDermott and Allens 6th season as a QB/Coach pairing.

Also worth noting.....NEVER has a coach / QB combo that had been together more than 5 years, ever won the Super Bowl. If McDermott and Allen were to win one at this point, it would be the first time a QB/Coach pairing that had been together 6 years or more, won it all. It's kind of weird to say McDermott, head of a very good team, is on the hot seat, but in reality, the situation of being all in, and not getting over the hump so far....it might be McDermotts last shot before maybe you put a new set of eyes and ideas around Allen and see what happens.

Chiefs are targeting a certain player. If he makes it to about 19-20, Ill be looking to move up.

QB, Ohio St. He played great VS Georgia, but I see the same one read guy that Ohio St. always has throwing to NFL WR's behind and NFL line. 2. Tyree Wilson. Edge, Texas Tech. I just don't see it. For being the size and measurables he is, that guy should have been killing it in college. 3. Peter Skoronski. OT, Northwestern. I'm not guying that he can play LT with his T rex arms. I'll believe it when I see it. I wouldn't risk a top 10 pick to find out. 4. Darnell Wright OT, Tennessee. This one is more situational than others..but he needs to be on a run heavy team IMO. I'm not sold on his pass blocking as a LT in the NFL. 5. Adetomiwa Adebawore, DL, Northwestern. Pains me to say it becasue he's a Kansas City kid, but dude was destined for 4th or 5th round until the combine. Workout warrior. 6. Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon St. Will join a long list of athletic TE who actually were never good at plaing TE but get drafted like they are. 7. Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota St. Getting WAY too much hype. Played small school that RUNS most of the time. This is not an NFL caliber pass blocker.
