I don't disagree, but at some point Allen has to drop back and win and today he couldn't. McDermott's criticism is fair.

That's not to say Allen can't improve, but it's hard to have a consistent offense when the quarterback is still inconsistent and erratic as Josh has been this year and this game against a bad pass defense.

Buffalo's only touchdown came on a drive where the team did everything they could to make sure Allen didn't have to throw a pass. That isn't a good sign.

The clear answer is not yet. Allen was rattled in the 2nd half and failed to make a play during critical times in the game. Houston won because Watson was able to make a really great play in overtime.

I think tomlin's tenure has become a little more impressive considering what Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell ended up actually becoming when they left that team.

The issues in Jacksonville are with roster construction moreso than they are with how the team is actually coaches. Here and in Jacksonville he was able to vastly improve team defenses but having EJ here and Bortles and then a team pay 80 Million for a career backup in Foles ultimately held him back.

The PI call was a bad call. Hayward was playing the ball and had outside position.

Kicking that is the correct call for the Chargers.

Pittsburgh is like Denver. Pretty good D, NO quarterback play to speak of. They won some games when they were getting turnovers at a huge rate.

I like a lot of the early play design on that first drive. using McKenzie and knocks on the Creek crossing patterns to beat some of the man-to-man looks they were getting was good and Singletary got the ball a couple of times so hopefully they beat the man-to-man consistently.

Whatever they did at halftime to fix the run defense and the offensive execution in the early game carried them today. Hopefully that keeps up. They also didn't give up a touchdown. I think in the 3rd quarter the wind made them a little too run happy. The 4th quarter drive happened when Allen got an opportunity to throw. Buffalo didn't throw or kick into the wind all day. The concern is the short yardage performance for the offense. Daboll was probably onto something trying to be cute at the beginning of the game, made an adjustment when that didn't work, and then going straight didn't work either. On some of those 3rd and ones they need to put the ball in Allen's hands and let him throw it.

They need to let Allen throw.
