How do the team's moves so far impact the Bill's draft needs?
SCBills replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our WR room is absolutely hilarious right now and we have one DT. Those two positions are sirens blaring attention needed. -

When people ask me why I’ve become a conspiracy theorist..
-
Numbers may confirm or change my opinion, but I’m glad we’re staying young and not spending heavy on an aging pass rusher. Von, Rousseau, AJE, KJ is a room we can roll with if we spend/draft elsewhere.

The talk on WGR has shifted heavily to big trade based on Sal bringing it up earlier. I don’t think it’s based on anything other than vibes, lack of WR2, aggressive clearing of cap space and Beane’s tendencies.. but I think the need for elite pieces vs solid depth is gaining some traction.. at least in terms of a growing sense of what the Bills may be missing as we keep coming up short.

Giants sign Devon Singletary to 3 year, $16.5M deal
SCBills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m sure Giants fans are being super rational about losing Barkley and signing another ex-Bill. -
Agree with all the cuts. Impressed with the renegotiations. Fine with the Dawkins extension. Cam Lewis/Taylor Rapp, indifferent. Think we need to find a way to get another elite player here, but see that both unlikely to happen due to other teams making that available and/or us sacrificing depth/rotations to actually do it.

I like Joe Marino a lot, but I hate his roster construction views. Unfortunately he's pretty accurate in how we seem to approach roster building. It's good if you want a strong team that makes the playoffs and is a contender each year. Aside from the Von move that blew up in our face, it's too reliant on good-not great players and depth vs trusting draft picks & UDFA's to have more high end guys. It's VERY clear we need more high end guys.

Honestly, perfect landing spot. Lawrence throws deep a lot.

Congrats to Gabe.. good dude. That said.. I laughed…

Rasul Douglas contract restructure... saves $2.5 mill
SCBills replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not for nothing, but Rasul Douglas hasn't even been here a year and tweets more cryptic stuff than Diggs entire career here lol. -
Lol.. I kinda love that this random 1.75M Cardinals signing is the only one singled out on the board.

Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
For me, it's not so much Van Demark, although he seems to have a lot of potential.. it's Kromer. I trust whatever he decides. Get him a player for a year, and they typically ball out Year 2 in his system and beyond. -
Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is wild. I can't believe they did it. I'm not necessarily against it, depending on what the plan is, but man.. this is a pretty emotional off-season. On a human level, sad to see some of this, even if it may be necessary to make the jump to where we need to be. -
Yea, someone like Dawson Knox does seem like he'd be willing to just take less to stay with Josh Allen and this organization. He's been through a lot in his personal life and it seems like he respects how the team/community rallied around him. If you ever hear him talk, money never comes across as a massive factor. Faith & Family seem to be his driving factors.
-
I think elite also applies to positional value. Milano, when healthy, is elite at LB... but I mean.. ok.. he's a linebacker. Chiefs are currently elite at QB, TE, DT and CB. And while TE typically isn't it, when you have an All-Time great, it's a bit different.
-
Teams are more willing to eat dead cap nowadays and the Bills could've cut Von post 6/1. Or maybe Von wants to be a GM and respects Beane enough with the shadowing he's done of him to agree to this, knowing his future aspirations. Knox, not sure about his situation because we haven't seen the details yet.
-
I'm pretty sure we did this with Mitch Morse a few years back. I don't think there's ever been a concern amongst players about Brandon Beane not being someone they respect with communication/negotiation etc.

Dion Dawkins cryptic tweet UPDATE: EXTENDED PER SCHEFTY
SCBills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
TBH, I actually trust Kromer so much that I'd just assume Van Demark is going to legit. If we, and I don't think we are, cut/trade Dawkins.. I'd have to imagine a big move is coming to help Josh Allen. -
