  1. Covid and football in one topic? The season can’t start soon enough! Or at least the Schedule release, so we can get back to our sweet spot, saying ‘we’ve been screwed again’ with a modicum of NFL science to back it up. 😁
  2. Yes, and both Milano and Jones were on the sideline when we had the ball with the win in our QBs hands at home late in the 4th quarter and deep in Chiefs territory, right where they would’ve been if completely healthy. I know it’s hard for Bills fans to swallow but we simply blew it….again!
  3. This entire discussion is chicken and egg. Players don’t come out of the womb as highly paid professionals. They don’t even come out of the draft that way. (The current CBA makes sure of that.) Instead players earn their status after five years of consistent production. So are there times when a random highly paid QB and WR are on the same team? Maybe. Maybe not. But the connection is not so much by design or intent.
  4. Games start at 10:00am out here. 😉
  5. I’ve told this story before: My son in law was a decent HS QB who went to the Jim Kelly QB camp from out here in California. Chad was the same age and attended the same camp. My son in law tells me Chad was a major head case and all the other guys there couldn’t stand him.
  6. Hello? The Bills had just beat the Chiefs on the ROAD a few weeks earlier WITHOUT Milano! The never ending list of excuses this fan base can cling to is nothing short of breathtaking.
  7. Bills fans can be pretty odd. I know because I’ve been one for SIXTY years. Milano suffering from a broken leg had nothing to do with going to London. Yes, it happened there, but not because he jumped out of double decker bus while sightseeing at Windsor Castle. Did his injury hurt the Bills….i guess so, but they still ended up right where they wanted be, playing the Chiefs in Buffalo with the ball in theirs hands, deep in Chiefs territory and the game on the line. And where would Milano have been? Watching from the sideline while the Bills offense failed to convert a first down, and then missed a field goal. It ultimately changed nothing.
  8. And that happened because he was in London? The Bills went on to have a very good season, including finally getting the Chiefs at home in the playoffs, a full three months after returning from the UK. They just didn’t finish…again.
  9. Maybe. If I recall the very next week, the visiting team flew there the same day as the Bills and won in London. Do I think they should’ve gone earlier….yes. Did the trip ruin the Bills season….no.
  10. Thanks for posting! Looks like they continue to make great progress out there. Very different construction type than the current stadium. The new one is essentially a conventional steel braced frame structure (much like a typical office building) with seating risers leaning up against it. For the curious, the diagonal braces you see in a few areas are there to resist lateral movement (wind and earthquake loads).
  11. Curious…..if no deals have been made, how is that a hot market?
  12. The fallacy that going to London destroyed the Bills season is another urban myth that apparently will be remembered as long as the Flutie v Rob Johnson debate.
  13. The Bills aren’t rebuilding. They’re reloading.
  14. It’s weird, right? I’ve still not seen anything about a release and they normally make a big hoopla about it. I’m guessing it won’t be this week.
  15. That’s what I’m seeing everywhere but I’ve yet to see an advertisement on TV for the normal hoopla show surrounding the release….and if the date is correct, it’s THIS week. I’ve looked forward to it every year since I was a kid, almost as much as the Draft, and then I use it to plan my Fall travel schedule.
  16. So does anyone know when the schedule comes out? I’m seeing updates on sites posted as of just an hour ago that still suggest it’ll be this Thursday, May 9th. Really?
  17. He must be good….I’ve actually heard of him! 😉
  18. But remember kids, being a billionaire doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re not also a moron. 😂
  19. The resentment is improperly targeted. Don’t blame the Pegulas for taking the subsidy. If you absolutely must blame someone, then blame state officials for offering it. And I’m NOT saying that to be political. It crosses BOTH party lines.
  20. With all due respect, one person’s taxpayer subsidy is another person’s write off, rent control, student debt forgiveness. etc. EVERYONE is simply trying to get their best deal on everything they buy, sell, or own. Everyone!
  21. The level of disdain on here for monetarily successful people is beyond stunning. As it’s written…remove the plank from your own eye before dealing with the speck in your neighbor’s. To the vast, vast majority of people in the world YOU are wealthy! Having money, whether a lot or a little, neither makes you good or evil.
  22. There’s a lot of whining on here. Yes, the Bills lost in London. I know. I was there. And we had a blast! But if they’d won they’d have ended up hosting the Chiefs in the playoffs instead of having to travel to Arrowhead again….oh wait….never mind!
  23. Yes, we agree, it’s really hard to have complex discussions in a chat room. My point is that you seem fixated on the aesthetic architectural look of the new stadium, which you are perfectly free not to like. Architecture is a very subjective field. You learn it very early in your career. My point is that whether you like the look of the stadium or not, I believe the major focus of the design, is and always has been, on the game day ‘experience’…which is NOT the architecture. It’s the difference between what a place feels like and what it looks like. I’m guessing (and I’m only guessing) you’ll find the new stadium a massive upgrade in the concourses, restrooms, food choices, technological connectivity, and even things like Buffalo/Bills centric art, displays, etc. Does that make more sense?
  24. The experience that I was referring to have nothing to do with the architecture of the facility. Newer stadiums are about providing services before, during, and after the game that are more upscale than the old days of sitting on a cold, aluminum bench eating the cheese-wiz nachos provided at the concession stand. The best analogy I can come up with is that everyone flies on the same airplane, but the folks up in business and first class are treated to a far better "experience" than those back in coach. The NFL, like most sports leagues, are wooing those fans looking for a first class experience.
