Report: Bills interested in UFA TE Jesse James
CuddyDark replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a good 2nd TE who can block and catch passes. You still have Croom as a possible receiving TE but I'd love to draft one who is an all around player. Croom is still in doubt as a full time player IMO. I'd love this signing. -
Joe Marino/TDN Pre-Combine 7-round Bills mock draft
CuddyDark replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a very good 4th round. I still believe Jawaan Taylor, will make the 2nd or late first. Let see how he moves at the combine. -
Depends on the QBs. 9 is a good spot for Lbers. Patrick Willis was 11, Luke Kuechly was 9, and Roquan Smith was 8. All ran 4.5 and all might be slightly better than White.

Bills sign C Spencer Long to 3 year deal
CuddyDark replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haven't paid much attention to his signing. Do we know if they've said he'll be C or G? -
I'd be in for 1. Wilkins - DT 2. Risner - OT 3. Kaden Smith - TE Stanford

No let Devin White play Thomas Davis' role as a natural outside stack.

Christian Wilkins, also has a great personality. He's one of them happy go lucky types. He's similar to Tre White in that way.

IDK. What he was doing, taking the knee, wasn't against the CBA. I'd think they would have to get a new agreement under the CBA because they didn't have an official policy to stop him. When they tried a half measure, not televising the national anthem, or allowing teams to stay in the locker room during the NA, it made them look complicit or incompetent. If they gave him a big contract, in theory say he got a big contract, POTUS would talk about how the NFL "paid him big money to disrespect our country." They really had a no win situation with Kaepernick.
-
The NFL has successfully defended the CBA in court many times. They would have to fight Rice to the supreme court because a loss to him would make the CBA invalid and college sophomores would be able to enter the draft and a bunch of other things they have won in court would fall. He would lose anyway but they'd have to fight with whatever it took to win.

This is kind of moronic. Antitrust and collusion laws are probably 100 years old. It has nothing to do with politics. If they could win the NFL would have taken it to court. It's just most of Trump's followers keep hearing "Collusion is not a crime" and it's wrong. Collusion is a crime. You won't get jail time in most collusion cases so conservatives in the media know Trump would never be charged with a crime that is impeachable for collusion. Collusion is usually financial crimes and conservatives in the media know this so it doesn't matter if they lie a little. What they have to get Trump on is conspiracy. Collusion that lead to a high crime, like hacking.

Good. Now draft a good young all around TE, or two.

It's not the firing. It's not discrimination of his beliefs or race or any of those things. It's preventing him from working that is illegal. It's part of the antitrust laws. In short, the NFL is given a special charter by the government which allows it to have a monopoly. In Kaepernick's case they used this monopoly to prevent him from working. It's illegal. Anyway that how my small brain see it. I could be completely wrong.

It doesn't work how you have it in your head. That's not how civil court works. If he can prove they collude to stop him from playing that's all he needs. His career is irrelevant in court. You know how if a bum gets hit by a car he still gets paid? If a bum loses his arm he still get potential earnings in civil court. Also, pain and suffering. Kaepernick probably argued NFL ruined his reputation and other things I'm not smart enough to know.
