  1. Judging from the conversation between the judge and the attorneys for both sides, sounds like she's actually going to testify that she did indeed sleep with him. I'd expect the defense will raise the issue of the letter as a way to impeach her.
  2. Apparently the right is pro-cancer now? Congress kills cancer moonshot funding Eliminating the cancer cure moonshot to save 0.027% of the budget. Maybe not the best ROI… Meanwhile: Biden Proposal Would Eliminate Tax-Free Treatment for Much of Wealthiest Households’ Annual Income How the ultra rich avoid paying taxes.
  3. If the purpose of the transaction is to benefit the campaign, then there is an obligation to disclose it to the FEC.
  4. A J6er learns the truth the hard way: And yet, how many PPPers still believe that nonsense? Most?
  5. “Violence is caused by Dems, that’s why the deadliest counties in America are not in states controlled by Dems” Buddy, it’s just an absolutely terrible argument.
  6. People with guns. Don’t be a coward. Just say what you’re thinking or shut up.
  7. If you want to make a point, make it. If you want to play games, tag someone else.
  8. If Dem control is what causes violence, how come NYC doesn’t lead the nation in homicides? Dem city in a Dem county in a Dem state. If you are correct, we would expect to see thousands of murders in NYC each year. If you’re theory was correct, all of the most deadly places in the US would be Dem cities in Dem states. If, as reality shows, the deadliest places are in GOP states, then how could your theory possibly be correct? What is it that makes GOP states so much more likely to have higher homicide rates in their more populous areas? I can’t say I put a lot of stock in a theory that is disproven simply by the existence of NYC.
  9. If Trump didn’t want to get prosecuted in so many different places, he probably shouldn’t have committed crimes in so many places. If the precedent being set is that people who do crimes get punished, then that’s pretty cool by me. Weird that the conservatives suddenly hate enforcing the law though…
  10. Oh no! People are following the rule of law! People who commit crimes are being prosecuted! How could the Dems do this?!
  11. The idea that liberals are the cause of violence is just objectively and provably false. If it were true, NYC would be the deadliest place in the country. The list of deadliest counties would be just counties from states like New York, California, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Hawaii. The fact that the list is made up almost entirely of municipalities from red states simply proves you wrong. It really just seems like you’ve decided that it’s all the fault of the Dems so you’re cherry picking evidence and ignoring anything to the contrary. The evidence just actually points to: more guns = more gun deaths. The fact that the deadliest places are the densest places in states with loose gun laws supports that and refutes your claim.
  12. Dear lord. You don’t honestly believe that do you?
  13. Oh yeah, the guy who wants to pull out of NATO actually supports NATO.
  14. How often does one person kill 6 people in NZ vs the US? I bet you’d just brush it off if someone shot at you 7-8 times. No big deal, right?
  15. It’s almost as if the availability of guns escalates negative interactions or disagreements into potentially lethal situations. The kid would have been fine if this guy didn’t have a gun.
  16. Captain Eyerolls coming in with his usual script. Talking points locked in. Brain turned off.
  17. “The guy who hates NATO and supplicants himself before Putin would absolutely have defended NATO in a hot war against Putin” is quite the take.
  18. Do you honestly believe that Putin was too scared of the guy who trusts him more than the US and says we shouldn’t necessarily defend our allies and wanted to pull out of NATO?
  19. So you believe that Trump is responsible for Armenian-Azerbaijan war, the India-Pakistan border crisis of 2019, three separate Israel-Gaza clashes, the Tigray war, and the Ethiopian-Sudan conflict? I guess we should blame FDR for WWII as well
  20. Russia wasn’t going to invade Ukraine either. Even though the US said they would, Ukraine and others doubted because it would be such a bad decision by Russia. Then what happened? I don’t understand people thinking that Russia is a rational actor making decisions based on considered thought of examinations of the facts. That’s not how it operates. As to the revanchism, you just need to listen to Putin himself, “In 2005, Putin called the Soviet collapse “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century.” In 2008, then-Prime Minister Putin told President George W. Bush, “Ukraine is not even a country.” Soon Russia invaded Georgia and asserted “privileged interests” in the wider region. In 2014 and on a larger scale in 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. In 2022, Putin claimed that prior to President Nursultan Nazarbayev's reign, “Kazakhsnever had statehood.” In 2016, Putin claimed that Russia's border “has no end.”” (Source) “Firebrand Russian politician Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday that the Baltics belong to Russia. Writing on Twitter, the former Russian Prime Minister referred to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as "our" provinces, saying they had "soiled themselves" over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.“ (Source) Honestly, the idea that Russia doesn’t want to test NATO is just wishcasting at this point.
  21. If Russia succeeds in Ukraine, reconstitutes its military and then invades Latvia, would you support sending US troops to defend it in accordance with Article V?
  22. He also knew that he would capture Kyiv in three days. He wouldn’t be betting that he could beat NATO, he’d be betting that NATO wouldn’t actually come to the defense of a smaller Baltic state and risk global war.
  23. I don’t understand the confidence that the guy who wants to destroy NATO, wants to resurrect Russian empire, has surrounded himself with sycophants, has killed or removed anyone who challenges him, who massively miscalculated the Ukraine invasion, wouldn’t, upon being triumphant in what he views as a war against the West, push the envelope for the goal he clearly seeks. I agree that it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do, but are we willing to risk WWIII on Putin being rational and tethered to reality when the evidence clearly cuts against that?
