I was thinking about that. It's true about 3rd down - but overall, if Bishop doesn't play like a rookie on that long TD, they really held it down points-wise.

Maybe this will get some weird reactions - but he's as good as Milano. He was all over the field today, and looked like a leader out there. He was key to that stop on 4th & inches, and it looked like he baited Stroud into the pick he got. And that's all after coming back from a tough injury. I remember we all thought that was a luxury kind of pick, and a reach. He has really panned out.

Smelly Jockstrap Awards (Not Game Balls) vs Texans
Success replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Carter & Bernard. Man, were they both great. Oh - didn't realize this is a "worst" post. -

I just heard all of McDermott's comments. I still think that last series was a disaster - but at least I understand where he was coming from. I don't know; at least it wasn't throwing darts at a wall? I'm trying here. -
My favorite Bills year by a mile was the one where we got on a tear after the "Hail Murray." We literally won every game until the AFCCG.
-
It's easy to lose perspective after games like this - especially the way we lost. But we're still one of the better teams in the league, with one of the best QB's. It's all about January - and hopefully February.
-
Just gotta keep plugging away - and maybe one of these years we'll be the most healthy team in the playoffs, or get the big kick, or have another team self-destruct. I just want one. Allen will get us there.

They playcalling on the last drive was some of the worst strategy I've ever seen, and cost us a chance. But, I think we have (for the most part) lost sight of how gutty the comeback was. Felt like that game was over - but we really fought back and made a game of it, and probably should have won or at least had a chance to. -
This is what I saw on the few plays they showed a broader view. Guys are totally covered. JA isn't gun shy - he'll pass it if there's a chance. Guys are simply not getting open. We need a star receiver. Without that, DC's can plan their defenses with very standard coverages and succeed. They don't have to focus on anything.

Belichick or McDermott. Who's the better coach?
Success replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
But it might be an average league. The Ravens & Vikes look like top dogs, but I'm not that impressed w/ anyone else. -

Success replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
Belichick made mistakes in his career - but they were infrequent. He's better than anyone, and it's really not close w/ McDermott. I honestly don't think there is a coach from the past decade or so who passes 3x in that last series like we did. -

Man, it would have been such a huge comeback win - potential to be season-defining. Now we're 3-2. Probably still win the division, but doubtful that we'll be in the mix for a top seed. How do you pass 3 times from the endzone w/ such little time left? How do you do that? I can't get over it. -
Worst (regular season) coached game in the entire McD era
Success replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll have to watch it. I mean, why did not know it wasn't smart at the time? It wasn't even close to a "hindsight" thing. It is BASIC COACHING. I don't think even a high school coach would have passed there. I'm really dismayed. And I've been a McD supporter in general, but he totally blew that, and really let down a bunch of guys who had worked so hard to get that game tied. -

Maybe some good will come out of this one. Maybe Beane makes a move. And I'm tired of being the early season champs, anyway. Would rather see us get hot in the 2nd half of the season - and hope we have the kind of team that can. I still have some faith. -

When I saw Allen lining up in the shotgun on that last series, I was really mystified - I figured they were trying to fool them, but obviously they'd still run it. I hope he gets asked about that series all week. He needs to explain that. -
There were drops all over the place, no one was getting open, he had little to no protection, and Brady KEPT CALLING RUNS ON FIRST DOWN, leaving us w/ a lot of 2nd & 3rd and long. This thread is a complete overreaction.

100% agree. Kincaid had 2 bad drops, imo. Guys weren't getting open. Allen was obviously not great, but I didn't see him as the problem today. -
I don't think the drafts are the problem. Beane has been above average overall when it comes to the draft.
-
I was being goofy. Lighten up.
-
Carter was great. Bernard is an all-pro. So, yeah - there was some good stuff.
-
Part of me agrees. But then, part of me doesn't.
-
On that last series? I was really stunned. I don't think I've ever seen a coach do that. You run it 3x, make the Texans use their TO's and punt if you don't get the first, right? Am I missing something?

You have maybe a 10% chance of scoring from your own 3 with no timeouts and 40 seconds. McDermott just disrespected the whole team and the effort they made by not just kneeling there. That, to me, is a fireable offense. That is terrible, terrible coaching. -
