  1. If we stay healthy, I think we get the 1 seed w/ 13-4.
  2. I'm glad it's now and not during the stretch we face KC. I think we can handle the schedule coming up okay w/out him. Maybe a loss in there, but this shouldn't be too disruptive to our chances overall. And Von is getting older, so he might benefit from not having to play as many games in the regular.
  3. That's a fair point - more team construction than anything McDermott can do, though. I'm hoping we bypass some of that this year w/ Bernard, Milano & Johnson all joining the team later in the season, so they won't have to go through so much of a grind.
  4. Or that we stay a little healthier. I've said it many times at this point: if KC had the injuries at the same positions we had in the last playoff game, and we were as healthy as they were - that game is likely a blowout.
  5. Have you seen the coaching around the league this year? It's atrocious. Absolutely abysmal. McDermott is in the top 10 at worst. We'd be rolling the dice by switching now - even w/ someone like Belichick, who is likely past his prime and would want to change the team to fit his schemes.
  6. Honestly, I hate that we're going to have a week-to-week evaluation of Worthy vs. Coleman. In 5 years, we'll know if we did the right thing. Though I don't think we were EVER considering Worthy.
  7. Just like players, coaches can have a bad game. And we see it w/ every coaching staff out there. I don't read too much into this beyond that - they just blew it w/ the gameplan & the in-game decisions. They were stellar for the 1st 3 games. Looking around the league, I'm still glad we have the coaches that we have. There is so much bad coaching out there week to week. Our coaches earned some benefit of the doubt, and I think they just had a bad one on Sunday and will rebound.
  8. I still think THIS year looks very positive. I believe we're more like the team of the 1st 3 weeks than the one we saw on Sunday night. The Ravens game was a Murphy's Law kind of game. They're a great team & deserved the win, but I won't be nervous about playing them again if we meet them in the playoffs. I think that game will serve us well if that does happen.
  9. We need homefield, and to try to score early & make the Ravens offense more one-dimensional. Getting Milano & Bernard will probably help a bit too, if they're both healthy.
  10. That one hurt - mainly because I'm not used to seeing the team on the bad end of a lopsided score. It literally never happens anymore, until last night. My next day feeling is that this was just a situation of one team that was at home and desperate for a win to re-establish themselves in the AFC, and the other team was fat & happy basking in the hype of possibly being the best in the league all week. A much-needed home win for the Ravens, and a much-needed wake up call for the Bills. I expect we'll look back on this as an anomaly. The schedule is pretty favorable for the next month+, and I think we'll see us stack up some wins and put some distance between ourselves & the rest of the AFCE.
  11. The Ravens look to be one of the best teams, and we had a bad night. While I wouldn't mind bolstering the WR corps, I think what we have will continue to develop. I mean, if Coleman can keep building on last night, he stands a chance of being a true #1 kind of guy by the end of the season. Shakir is very solid. Samuel has more potential than he has shown so far. What hurt us yesterday more than anything was getting away from Cook. Our offense can still be a top 5 unit without a trade.
  12. Dirty hit on the trick play. Unnecessary.
  13. We take these kinds of plays from Allen for granted now. In some ways, they're commonplace. But I don't know - maybe 5-6 guys in the last 20 years or so make a throw like that? I'm still shaking my head. Unfortunately, that trick play changed the game, and now I doubt it will even be talked about. But man....
  14. It did look like there were a few times where Allen had a ton of time - and couldn't find anyone. Separation is still a problem.
  15. We'd all love it if it worked - but it didn't, and it's too easy to 2nd guess. It was all going our way at that point, and the Ravens were definitely thinking about their previous blown leads.
  16. Pretty good summary. We didn't tackle well, obviously. That was disappointing. We've been more physical in the other games to this point, but we let the Ravens out-physical us by a mile. I don't think we're as soft as we looked out there, but I have concerns now.
  17. Just normal playcalling on that trick play drive would have done the trick. We had them on their heels.
  18. Do we stick w/ Bass? He is so inconsistent. We were scrapping there, and that miss really hurt.
  19. Coleman in the 2nd half was a bright spot. I'm sure some other fans and analysts will call us pretenders after this - but sometimes, these games just happen. If not for that trick play, I think we probably win. We had them on their heels at that moment, but lost the moment.
  20. Didn't we beat New England by 30 in one of their title seasons?
  21. On the plus side - we're back to being under the radar. And we probably won't get back above the radar until at least the KC game. Because we won't be playing "anybody."
  22. The Ravens aren't 25 points better than the Bills. Or whatever it is. I'm bad at math. This was a lesson, for a team that has more than their share of new guys.
  23. Overall, I'm not super worried. This was a bad, bad game - but the Ravens were much more desperate than we were. I can see a game where our 1st drive doesn't stall and it's at least close the rest of the way. If the Texans beat us next week, then I'll be concerned.
  24. Loved Coleman in the 2nd half, at least.
  25. Been awhile since we've had one of these. Doesn't feel good.
