You make it sound like scout Y is responsible for player X. I seriously doubt it works that way. It is more likely there is a grading system that is developed and it is a team effort to grade the players in all the various areas. More a team effort than how you describe.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
Matt_In_NH replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I look at it like this....I want him to hit those incentives....even if he hits them all, its not a big price for that production. This is a good Gave Davis substitute for the pass catching part. -
Say no to crack Crack is whack and all that

Miami should just pay him $58M per and be done with it

What are the chances Romo is not available due to some personal issue? he could have Covid He could get arrested driving into the stadium because he is late He could get charge with some crime Maybe there is some emergency in his family -
How do you feel about the Bills upcoming team/schedule?
Matt_In_NH replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
7 1PM games is a couple more than last year and some of the 4:25 games will not be national windows, they are just west coast games. Also 5 prime time vs 6 which I am good with. One less day of being tired is ok by me. Overall take in the schedule is the bills are slightly less sexy than last year to the nfl. living in NE had 16 of 17 games last year on local tv. This year I will be lucky to have e 13. Looked at overlapping game times with NE etc. -
nah, they are a non profit........

RD 5, Pick 150: WR Justin Shorter, Florida
Matt_In_NH replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is not a lock they will keep 6. In fact that is less likely than keeping 5. IMO Shorter is outside looking in and it is not likely he figures it out. -
WR Candidates - Who Does Beane Keep?
Matt_In_NH replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Likely Hollins and MVS. Sometimes the simplest answer is the most likely. If they keep 6 which is not likely it would be one of Hamler Isabella or Claypool but they would need to contribute on special teams. I don’t see shorter or the others with a real shot. -
Why, you can choose to watch one, the other or jump back and forth? Dont like it just watch the regular broadcast?

I bet he takes the keyboard from the library because those idiots who buy their own keyboards are super stupid.

What do you spend your dumb money on?

Having it at night helps. However I remember one night game in the Kelly years where guys were cramping up bad that was at night...the humidity is still there.

That team has a ton of talent but the staff and Rodgers running the show will be their downfall.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
Matt_In_NH replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most of the people I play fantasy football with disagree with the bolded I don't like this signing....similar drop rate to Gabe and will probably be worse with Allen's heaters. Statistically he is very much a Gabe replacement probably at a very low cost so its ok from that perspective. Curious to see the contract, assuming 1 year at a low rate so I am ok with that. Not sure we really want this guy taking a roster spot or reps though but I guess as a WR4 it can work. He has a low catch % and drop percentage and high yards per catch, all similar to Gabe. Overall output is lower than Gabe but also with a lower snapcount. -

He can’t catch soft balls from Mahomes. Josh will break his hands. -

WR trade candidates, who do you want?
Matt_In_NH replied to Einstein's Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trade for Zay Jones after he signs with the Chiefs. -
Because most sacks in college does not just translate to the NFL. The competition matters...a lot. Evaluation takes hundreds of factor into account, one of which is production. Lots of other physical traits, performance in standardized testing, interviews etc.

Those PSL's are not too bad

I also understand your point and you are correct the Bills needed a QB, that is true. Right or wrong, it was not just McDermott's draft, the GM (Whaley) and his staff knew they were getting canned after the draft and the organization's plan was to let the new GM make the QB decision. I get the impression you don't like McDermott but he is the coach, not the GM, I don't think it is reasonable to criticize him in this case. Rumor was that Pegula loved Mahomes, no clue how the GM and personal staff had it ranked, it seemed like they were just not going to draft a QB. I get some on this board were furious, there were also some furious for drafting the "wrong Josh" and every other decision this team has ever made.

The outcome of the trade is super one sided to KC, only some Bills fans would argue otherwise. However, to this part of you post, I would say they handed KC a prospect not a HOF QB. If the Bills traded Josh Allen in this past years draft for someone else's one that would be what you describe. Mahomes was not a surefire prospect. You are playing hindsight, you have to judge the trade based on what information was available at the time it happened. Analogous to two poker players going all in preflop, one with 7-8 suited and one with a pair of aces. A straight comes up for the guy with 7-8, that does not make that a good preflop decision.

Interesting Beane said he would stick and pick Coleman unless someone knocked his socks off. Yet one pick earlier he took a typical deal to swap with the Panthers. To me this says he had Legette and Coleman rated about the same and since the Panthers grabbed one of them, he took the other.
